Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan
Chapter 300 - 12: Imperial Cohesion, the True Game’s Predicament
"Never mind the fact that the Deities protecting them are powerful enough. To think they’ve also conquered another civilization in just sixty short years."
"Even though this civilization is a non-magical one, judging by the mortals’ Technology Level, it clearly has its merits!"
"Compared to the world we’re about to completely conquer, even if it’s a little inferior, the difference can’t be that great, right?"
One Demigod spoke up, and another added:
"It’s hard to say. After all, in a non-magical world, no matter how advanced the technology gets, without the aid of Magic Power, it could never be a match for Deities."
"But the world we’re currently attacking with all our might is not only a Low Demon one, but it also has the means to mass-produce Saints and even beings with the Power of Demigods. It’s obviously much trickier."
"A purely non-magical, metal-based industrial technology has a glaring weakness against Deities, but its Potential is infinite. After all, just give them an environment with a Mana Will, and they’ll eventually all develop down the same path: Magic Industry."
"Only Magic Industry is the ultimate path in the Star Realm, for Deities and mortals alike. I have a hunch that, sooner or later, industrial might will be able to create things with Power rivaling that of Deities. The world we are currently conquering is a perfect example."
"Furthermore, I suspect that within the Star Realm, there might be powerful civilizations—even non-magical, technological ones—that possess Power comparable to Deities."
"That’s hardly a guess. If mortals can use worldly Energy to build so-called Starships, it’s entirely possible that at the end of that technological path, some civilizations can use the omnipresent Star Energy of the Star Realm to forge even stronger weapons."
"It’s just... it would be best if we don’t encounter a civilization like that for now."
"This time, even after our Tobien Empire conquers that world, we’ll need a period of rest and recuperation."
"As for the Star Empire and that Dragon God... I imagine they’ll continue to actively expand into the worlds of other civilizations, won’t they?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"That’s a given. Right now, the Deities and mortal beings of this world are all in a stage of explosive growth. As long as that lord isn’t a fool, he will definitely be aggressive about expanding his territory in the Star Realm."
"Still, everything is fine. At least he is our ally."
"And as time goes on, the alliance between our two civilizations is certain to grow stronger. That, at least, is a good thing."
"Even if conflict or even war eventually breaks out between our two civilizations, regardless of the outcome, we’ll have established a relationship. At the very least, something like wiping each other out won’t happen. A merger of our civilizations could even be a viable path."
"Watch your words. That’s not something for us to discuss."
"Alright, alright, we’ve seen enough of the show. We should all focus on our Ascension to Divinity. Until we become gods, we are nothing but ants, completely unable to take part in matters of this scale."
"..."
While the group of Giant Demon Demigods were talking amongst themselves, and as two inconspicuous Saint Tier individuals on the ground below were still reeling in shock, a scene was unfolding not far from Karte World.
Specifically, on the surface of the Sun.
An absurdly massive Giant Dragon was currently experiencing a moment of frustration.
’It’s been eight years, and I’ve only eroded 0.01% of the rules?’
’And what’s more, I can’t even continue the erosion process?’
’Hm? And I have to spend a considerable amount of Energy just to maintain this tiny bit of erosion?’
’Is the True Game failing?’
Lince stared helplessly at the message that had suddenly popped up from the True Game, a speechless expression on his face.
Still, at least this 0.01% Rule Erosion Level would allow the True Game to do something.
Otherwise, Lince had no idea what he would do next.
