Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan
Chapter 335 - 26: First Battle’s Tacit Agreement, a Slight Upper Hand (Part 2)
In the next moment, right behind the Blood Race Prince, dozens of blood-red portals, each several kilometers wide, suddenly and inexplicably unfurled across the sky.
From within these portals, a dense swarm of blood-red bats instantly poured out.
These blood-red bats formed dozens of terrifying, serpentine streams. In a mere instant, they bypassed the trio’s position and charged toward the battlefield.
At the same time.
From several other open portals, large numbers of the Blood Race began to appear one after another.
Leading them, without exception, were all Blood Race Princes!
And there were more than twenty such Blood Race Princes.
Simultaneously, massive numbers of Duke Level and Marquis Level Blood Race members appeared, down to the cannon fodder of the untitled Blood Race, their numbers instantly swelling past ten thousand.
Moreover, their reinforcements were still continuously warping in.
Upon their arrival, these Blood Race members did not charge onto the battlefield like their Follower race, the blood-red bats.
Instead, these Tierless, Blood Servant Level Blood Race members stopped at the rear of the battlefield and began casting some kind of ritual Magic upon the earth below.
And so, the next moment, from the ground littered with the corpses of blood-red bats, a series of tremors and roars erupted.
They were Blood-Origin Blood Beasts.
Vast numbers of Blood-Origin Blood Beasts emerged rapidly from the earth, as if breaking out of cocoons.
Then, at the forefront of the battle, they charged like a fleet of speeding trucks toward the Star Empire’s ranks of prepared killing machines.
And so it was.
Under the watch of the Upper-Rank Blood Race and the eighteen Pure-blooded Giant Dragons.
The battlefield, from sky to earth, became a scene of chaotic spectacle.
As for Damian City, it seemed to have become a no-man’s-land.
The Blood Race ignored the human city, and the Star Empire, by tacit agreement, also sent no one to it.
With a great mutual understanding, both sides began their initial clash around the perimeter of Damian City.
Thus, as countless ordinary humans in Damian City trembled in fear, this first clash raged from what seemed like dawn until the sun set on the third day.
Of course, with the blood moon and the great sun both shining overhead, this part of the Earth Realm had no true dawn or sunset.
By this time, the humans of Damian City had grown numb.
They went about their daily lives as usual.
Some of the Nobility, members of the Blood Hunters, and even He’an’s ’students’ from the Church went to the tops of tall buildings to watch the magnificent war between civilizations.
"I really don’t know what the Blood Race is thinking. Are they just going to ignore us?"
"And it seems like that Star Empire our teachers told us about hasn’t sent anyone over, either."
"I really don’t know what either side is thinking."
On a high tower, a Little Priest from the so-called Truth Church watched the grand war outside the city, his eyes gleaming with unprecedented excitement.
"What else could they be thinking? They must have a mutual understanding to be fighting like this."
"Vampires are detestable, but it seems these guys are quite particular about noble etiquette, even more rigid than us humans."
"So, they probably want to decide the ultimate fate of Damian City with the outcome of this battle."
"As for our teachers’ side, they must know this too, which is why they haven’t made any other moves."
A red-haired Apprentice Knight voiced his own speculation.
"Oh, really? They can do that?"
"Perfectly normal." At that moment, a Blood Hunter to the side suddenly joined the conversation.
"These Vampires may feed on us humans and are our greatest enemies."
"But in a way, weren’t many of them once human themselves?"
"It’s laughable when you think about it, isn’t it? A group of beings transformed from humans who now call themselves noble, viewing their original Race as an inferior species, as livestock to be farmed. This world of ours is truly twisted and pathetic."
The Apprentice Knight heard this, looked at the Blood Hunter, and then said with a calm gaze:
"That’s perfectly normal. In Teacher He’an’s words, for the Human Race, and even for all intelligent races, the ones who truly cause the most harm are always their own kind."
"Power and desire are intertwined. This is a common trait of all intelligent life."
"If the Blood Race didn’t see themselves as noble, how could they convince themselves that their evolution was correct, that feeding on their former kin was correct?"
The Blood Hunter looked at the Apprentice Knight in astonishment, then sighed deeply. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"You’ve really got a point there."
"By the way, if I’m not mistaken, you all must be from the Truth Church... hm, the shepherds of the Deities of that Star Empire, the one currently at war with the Blood Race, right?"
"Could you tell us about your teacher? Or even everything you know about this exotic civilization from another realm?"
The Apprentice Knight smiled cheerfully. "Of course, no problem."
...
The first clash was finally over!
In truth, it had no choice but to end.
After all, in a radius of at least thirty to fifty kilometers around Damian City, the ground was piled high with layers upon layers of metal wreckage.
Because the earth absorbed blood, the Blood Race side had left few corpses behind.
But the ground was now piled with so much metal that it had become extremely troublesome for them to continue summoning Blood-Origin Blood Beasts.
Furthermore, the Middle-Low Tier Nobles of the Blood Race, and even the Blood Servants, had been replaced batch after batch over the past three days.
Both sides had clearly grown impatient with this level of confrontation.
Moreover, a great deal of Power had already spilled out from this battle.
Indeed.
Over these three days of intense fighting, the battlefield hadn’t just belonged to the killing machines and the blood-red bats.
