Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan
Chapter 486 - 89: The Elves Retreat, the Dragon Race’s Divine Kingdom
"The Dragon Race?"
In this world, almost every Race was aware of the Dragon Race’s peculiar habits.
They were known for transforming into other mortal species to roam the world, and even to select suitable ’partners’.
But to actually see a member of the Dragon Race transformed into another species—let alone a Lower-Rank Species like the Rabbit-headed People—left the onlookers in disbelief.
Still, this member of the Dragon Race seemed to be just like the ones from the stories.
However, the three more discerning Demigods among the Dark Elves immediately saw through her true nature.
With their initial concerns allayed, one of the Dark Elf Demigods spoke with a smile:
"If I’m not mistaken, Your Highness, you’re merely of a Sub-dragon Species Bloodline from a Giant Dragon lineage, correct?"
"Furthermore, if my memory serves, among the three known descendants of Lord Lilanen, the Dragon Race Inspector of the Isaiah Great Forest, there is indeed a lady."
"I am not mistaken, am I... Your Highness Stephanie?"
Indeed, just as the Dark Elf Demigod had stated, the lady before them was not a true Giant Dragon, but a Sub-dragon Species descendant of a pure-blooded Bright Giant Dragon.
While she did possess the Bloodline of a Bright Giant Dragon, its purity was nothing remarkable.
But even a member of a Sub-dragon Species had her pride.
To have her identity exposed by the Dark Elves in front of so many others, and for them to repeatedly mention her "Sub-dragon Bloodline," was rather grating.
And so, Sub-Dragon Stephanie’s eyes blazed with indignation.
"What are you shadowy characters trying to imply?"
"Are you suggesting my status isn’t high enough for you?"
"So you’ve decided not to show me any respect?"
Sub-Dragon Stephanie may have only been a Sub-dragon, but she was a Saint Tier existence nonetheless.
Furthermore, as the youngest and most favored child of the region’s resident Bright Giant Dragon, she had consumed vast resources and successfully reached the Saint Tier in less than four hundred years.
For a member of the Giant Dragon Race, this was remarkably young.
But in the Dragon Race, strength was paramount. Once she reached a certain Tier, she was naturally considered an adult.
Therefore, as an adult of a Sub-dragon Species, Stephanie’s power was undeniable.
A Saint Tier Sub-dragon could easily defeat three mere mortal Demigods.
Not to mention, even though Sub-dragons weren’t considered members of the Dragon Race under the Dragon Race Code, and enjoyed none of the associated rights or obligations, she still had the backing of a true dragon.
In fact, Stephanie’s father was the Dragon Race Inspector for this very region.
So, even if these Dark Elves could defeat her, they wouldn’t dare actually lay a hand on her.
Faced with Stephanie’s hostile tone, the three Dark Elves exchanged a look.
The leader of the trio then forced a placating smile and said,
"How could we dare to disrespect Your Highness?"
"It’s just that these members of the Rabbit Race are of some use to our people at the moment."
"Therefore, if Your Highness is willing to withdraw your protection from these members of the Rabbit Race, our people are willing to offer you your pick of ten of our own to serve you."
"What do you say?"
Hearing this, Sub-Dragon Stephanie’s slitted pupils widened slightly in surprise.
Clearly, she was a little tempted.
The Elf Race, after all, was famous for its handsome men and beautiful women.
Even as Dark Elves, their darker complexions were of no consequence to Stephanie.
After all, a dragon’s choice of transformation was based entirely on their current whim.
Their aesthetic tastes naturally shifted along with their physical form.
However, things had already progressed this far.
Stephanie wasn’t about to openly display her lust.
In fact, because the Dragon Race already had a rather poor reputation in this regard, Stephanie felt she had to be more reserved.
’Even though that’s just how the Dragon Race is... how can you discuss such matters so openly?’
Thus, annoyed by the Dark Elves’ lack of tact, she rejected their offer in a tone laced with flustered anger.
"What do you take the Dragon Race for?"
"Enough nonsense! I am protecting these members of the Rabbit Race, and that’s final!"
At this point, Sub-Dragon Stephanie’s expression hardened. "And another thing, spare me the pointless excuses. What ’great use’ could these weak Rabbit Race people possibly have for you?"
"Other than as slaves, I can’t imagine they’d be of any use to you Dark Elves!"
"Besides, your race is already considered a powerful one in the Isaiah Great Forest. Why are you so fixated on harassing this weak Rabbit Race?"
"This matter ends here!"
"I don’t want to repeat myself!"
Sub-Dragon Stephanie finished in a tone that brooked no argument.
The Dark Elves hadn’t been spoken to in such a tone for several hundred years.
But faced with Sub-Dragon Stephanie, all they could do for now was seethe.
The leading Dark Elf Demigod simply let out a cold snort.
"Your Highness, does the Lord Inspector know that you’re interfering in the conflicts between the mortal Races of the continent?"
"We will concede your protection of the Rabbit Race for now. However, this matter is not over. We will take this up with the Lord Inspector ourselves!"
With that, without another thought for the other Dark Elves on the ground, the three Demigods transformed into streaks of light and vanished.
The remaining Saint Tier Dark Elves, though resentful, could only shoot a vicious glare at the surrounding Rabbit Race Elders.
Only then did they begin to gather their kin and withdraw from the Rabbit Race’s settlement.
"Tch. Who do you think you are?"
