Chapter 489: Chapter 90: Revealing Presence, Dragon Race Narrative (2)

After all, the aura Lince revealed was more than just that of a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon.

His very form and presence were saturated with a certain primeval quality.

Of course, given Sub-Dragon Stephanie’s perspective, she could never have guessed that the being before her was a member of the Ancient Dragon Race.

The Ancient Dragon Race?

The two remaining Ancient Dragons in this world were beings of legend.

Let alone appearing in the mortal realm.

So, even if Stephanie’s perspective was broader than most, she would never believe an Ancient Dragon was appearing before her.

She wouldn’t even entertain the thought.

Her only thought now was that this must be some powerful Divine Tier member of the Dragon Race who had descended to the Lower Realm.

And a Divine Tier dragon far more powerful than her Father Dragon, at that.

After all, Lince’s current thousand-kilometer-long draconic body was simply too overwhelming.

In her entire life, Stephanie had only twice seen her Father Dragon display his full form.

He was a Bright Giant Dragon, nearly four hundred kilometers in length.

In Stephanie’s eyes, her Father Dragon was already powerful beyond words.

But the one who had just appeared was on another level entirely.

Although his Tier only seemed to radiate the aura of a Demigod, Stephanie was certain this was only because he was intentionally suppressing his power.

But Stephanie was deeply puzzled.

’Why would a member of the Dragon Race of his stature appear here?’

’Isn’t this area under my Father Dragon’s jurisdiction?’

’Could it be that my Father Dragon’s status as Inspector is about to change?’

’Besides, even if there was a change in status, shouldn’t His Majesty have gone to my Father Dragon to discuss the matter?’

’Why would His Majesty appear in this remote region, so far from my Father Dragon’s lair?’

’He couldn’t possibly be here for me, right?’

But no matter the reason, the other party had now revealed his draconic form. As a descendant of a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon, Stephanie had to greet him immediately.

And so, Stephanie revealed her Sub-dragon form and immediately rose to hover in the air.

"I, Stephanie, a Light Sub-dragon and descendant of Lilanen, the Dragon Race Inspector for the Isaiah Great Forest, greet Your Majesty!"

"May I ask if Your Majesty has important business in descending to this realm? If there is any way I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to command me."

The voice brought Lince back to his senses.

After a moment’s thought, he instantly retracted his draconic form, using Elementalization to assume the appearance of a human.

Lince didn’t know if the Human Race existed in this world.

But he figured that due to the principle of cosmic homology, the Human Race, much like Beastmen and others, should be a common sight on any life-bearing planet throughout the Star Sea.

Even if they didn’t, it was no great matter. A form created by Elementalization could be shaped by will alone.

Even if Lince were to transform into an amorphous blob of flesh, no one would probably find it strange—they would just assume he had... peculiar and intense tastes.

As the sudden, sky-blotting shadow finally dissipated, the members of the Rabbit Race tribe below finally felt they could breathe a sigh of relief.

Yet, the members of the Rabbit Race remained uneasy.

After all, the reason for this dragon’s sudden arrival was still a cause for concern.

It was said that the Dragon Race did not act against mortal races.

But even without lifting a claw, a Divine Tier Pure-blooded Giant Dragon could, with a single word, command one or two Races to serve them, and no one would question it.

And such a ’blessing’ would certainly never fall upon the Rabbit Race.

’So, just why had this terrifying Pure-blooded Giant Dragon come?’

’Could it be that, like Sub-Dragon Stephanie, he had been offended by some witless member of the Rabbit Race while wandering the world?’

’Could he even be the one who pushed the Dark Elves to try and annihilate the Rabbit Race?’

’So, now that he knows Stephanie talked the Dark Elves into leaving, is he here to punish us?’

Admittedly, this was all rather absurd—just the worst-case scenario some of them had concocted.

For now, all the members of the Rabbit Race could do was watch the two of them interact.

However, it was obvious that the negotiations between two members of the Dragon Race were not something they would be privy to.

As was to be expected.

High in the heavens, Lince was already speaking to Stephanie via Spiritual Transmission.

"’Your Majesty?’ Do all members of the Dragon Race address those of the Divine Tier that way?"

Lince had a slight smile on his face.

He didn’t answer Stephanie’s question right away, choosing instead to tease her about the form of address.

Seeing Lince take on a human form in his Elemental State, Stephanie dared not show any discourtesy.

She immediately transformed into a human female as well.

Evidently, the Human Race did exist in this world.

"Of course not. Within the Dragon Race, aside from the two Ancient Dragon Majesties, all Pure-blooded Giant Dragons address each other as equals."

"Things like ’Sir,’ ’Ma’am,’ or ’Your Excellency.’"

"But, Your Majesty... surely you’ve noticed? I don’t truly count as a member of the Dragon Race."

Seeing the smile on Lince’s face, Stephanie thought he was teasing her, and so she returned his smile.

"Is that so?"

Lince stroked his chin.

"Sub-dragons are not acknowledged by the Pure-blooded Dragon Clan in this world. So that means the Giant Dragon Race here still abides by the tenets of the Dragon Race Code, correct?"

’This world?’

Hm?

Stephanie suddenly latched onto an unexpected and crucial point in Lince’s words.

Her smile instantly froze, replaced by a look of shock and fervent hope.

"Your Majesty? So... you’re not a dragon from our world, are you?"

Lince had no intention of hiding it, so he just gave a casual smile and nodded.

"You could say that."

"I am a member of the Dragon Race, just not the Dragon Race of this world."
