Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan
Chapter 500 - 95: The Fake Dragon Incident Terrifies the Gods
Giant Dragon Aubri World.
The Dark Star Realm, inside the Majestic Divine Hall.
"These past few years have been truly peaceful."
"The Titan Race has been chasing us all this time, but in the end, it’s all just been posturing."
"Truly, with the protection of the two Majesties of the Dragon Race, I’d say our Aubri World is the safest place in the entire Chaotic Star Sea."
A Tiger Head Main God spoke with immense satisfaction as he drank his wine, watching the Divine Attendants dance and sing in the grand hall.
"Indeed."
"I was skeptical about seeking refuge with the Dragon Race at first. I was afraid they’d be just like the Titan Race—devouring Deities without spitting out the bones."
"But who would have thought that even a wandering Main God like me could be granted a mortal land of faith."
"I must say, the two Majesties are truly benevolent!"
"For the benevolence of the two Dragon Race Majesties alone, I will contribute all my power for this final sanctuary."
A Main God Level Deity, who had clearly just escaped a civilization ravaged by the Titans, declared with righteous conviction.
"Hah, what sort of unevolved creatures are the Titans?"
"How dare they compare themselves to our Dragon Race?"
Just then, a Divine Tier Dragon with power equivalent to a Main God Level burst through the door and spoke with disdain.
"As Ancient Gods, they haven’t even unified their race’s physical form."
"Instead of calling them the Titan Race, it would be more accurate to call them a pack of misshapen monsters!"
"Our Father Gods completed the assimilation of our race before we ever crossed from the Barbaric Era into the Star Sea. Whether in form or Bloodline, all were uniformly refined and assimilated."
"In this aspect, a hundred Titan Ancient Gods couldn’t compare."
"It’s just a shame those despicable Titans caught our Father Gods off guard."
"Otherwise, things would be very different now!"
With that, the Divine Tier Dragon casually found a seat and sat down.
He then picked up a goblet and took a large gulp of wine.
"But even so, do you see those creatures daring to launch a real war against our Dragon Race?"
"It’s a pity our race’s most ancient and wisest Father God fell. Otherwise, if He were still here, we would have sent those creatures scurrying away with their tails between their legs."
The wise Giant Dragon the Divine Tier Dragon spoke of.
He was the one who had advised the Ancient Gods to assimilate their forms, shapes, and even their Bloodlines.
He was even the one who researched and developed the successful transformation ritual.
Without Him, there would be no Dragon Race today.
Unfortunately, this Wise Person fell unexpectedly during the very first great war against the Titan Race.
Otherwise, with a being of such era-transcending vision—one who could even devise a ritual for transforming Ancient Gods into a unified race—the Giant Dragon Race would never have been ’fleeing’ across the Star Sea, even with their dwindling number of Ancient Dragons.
Within the Divine Hall.
Over thirty Main Gods were gathered here.
There were even two Star God Dominators present.
None of them were of the Dragon Race, yet they all did their best to maintain a humble posture before the Divine Tier Dragon who had just entered the hall.
"Lord Hoy speaks the truth."
"We have long been aware of these matters."
"It’s all that newcomer Bolon Herrera’s fault for spouting nonsense. How could those monsters who call themselves Titans ever compare to the Giant Dragon Race!"
The Tiger Head Main God was the first to say with a fawning, sycophantic smile.
"Hmph. I couldn’t care less what you truly think in your hearts."
"However, you’d best not gossip behind our backs about my race’s affairs."
"Don’t blame me for not warning you. Many of the old-timers in my race aren’t as easygoing as I am."
The Divine Tier Dragon, Hoy, said with a cold expression.
"You are right to admonish us, Lord Hoy."
"Lord Bolon Herrera, why aren’t you apologizing to Lord Hoy?!"
The Tiger Head Main God was clearly an opportunist—one who spoke the language of men to men and the language of ghosts to ghosts.
"An apology isn’t necessary."
"We of the Dragon Race are not so petty!"
"Besides, it’s Bolon Herrera, isn’t it?"
"You’re new here, after all. Just be more mindful in the future. We wouldn’t want anyone who doesn’t know better to think the Giant Dragon Race is in the habit of bullying others with our power."
Bolon Herrera had originally intended to apologize.
But now, hearing the burly man, who was the Giant Dragon in disguise, speak this way, his opinion of him improved considerably.
"Understood."
"You are right, my lord. I will be more careful in the future."
"However, I was speaking from the heart. I won’t elaborate on my gratitude to the Dragon Race here."
"Should a great war ever come, I will be the first on the front lines. I want all of you, my lords, to know that even though I wandered here as a refugee, I am no coward who shrinks back and flees at the first sign of trouble."
The Giant Dragon Hoy did not respond, while the other Deities present simply smiled gently.
Ultimately, many of the Main God-level beings present were Deities from exiled civilizations; their situations were all quite similar.
It didn’t matter whether they had fought to the bitter end before fleeing their worlds, knowing their civilizations could not be saved, or if they had fled from the very beginning.
After all, if a real war were to break out, it wouldn’t be their turn to fight. Above them, after all, were two terrifying Ancient Dragons.
"Heh heh... Hoy, you’re certainly in a foul mood today."
"I wonder, what wind blew you over to our little gathering?"
At the head of the Divine Hall, an old-faced Dominator Deity finally spoke.
Clearly, when it came to the Giant Dragon, this Star God was not as timid and cautious as the other Deities.
On the contrary, he was quite casual, and his tone even held a hint of blame.
The Giant Dragon Hoy looked at the Star God, nonchalantly took another sip of wine, and only then did he speak:
"Fred, you can drop the sarcasm."
"I didn’t come here today looking to pick a fight with you two."
