Global Game: I Have Portable Store
Chapter 557 - 139: Anxi_3
He Dongchu made way, pointed behind him, and said, "Hmm, that works. You guys go in first. The settlement is in the center of the town, and following the main road directly won’t encounter too many monsters... leave a contact, you should be a Player, right?"
"Sure, I’ll leave one."
Su Changxing nodded and said.
Then, they headed to the settlement along the main road.
The number of survivors here was more than expected, some originally from here, and others who gathered from outside, many fleeing here during evacuations.
What surprised Su Changxing was that as soon as he got close, he sensed the aura of several Extraordinaries.
This seemed abnormal, as Extraordinaries were rare, at least from what he knew so far.
The settlement looked well-ordered, like a small town, with inns, shops, and even bars.
Trucks on the street brought in dismantled monster corpses from the outside.
"What do they want these monster corpses for?" Ge Yunhua looked at the truck, puzzled.
Su Changxing thought about it and explained:
"Among Players, Points are very important, which can be exchanged for various items, and these materials can be traded for Points in the Doomsday Shop."
"In theory, a Player with enough Points can quickly build up their power... but most items in the Doomsday Shop are scams, with very low cost-performance ratios." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
He reflected on this after having made many purchases in the Doomsday Shop.
There were people carrying guns patrolling on the street, but they ignored them, even though they were newcomers.
Su Changxing walked directly towards the nearest aura, which was at a shop in the center of the settlement, with two "Soldiers" with guns standing guard.
"Are you a Player?"
A thin, long-haired man sitting on a chair at the door saw Su Changxing coming and looked up to ask.
"If you’re not a Player, don’t come in, my stuff is only traded with Points, and of course, if you have few Points, don’t come, to save wasting time."
Su Changxing noticed the many Mysterious Items on the man, including a watch on his wrist and a fan in his hand, and said with a smile, "Yes, and quite a few Points, so you’re a Player too?"
"Of course!"
The man showed interest, having more or less seen all the Players here, Su Changxing was a new face. He stood up and shook hands with Su Changxing, saying:
"Yes, my name is Lu Lun, come in. What do you want? I have many items here, mostly rewards from quests they did, but no major use, so they sold to me."
[Appraiser: Tier Nine, extremely sensitive to the aura of Mysterious Items, able to identify Mysterious Items and analyze their properties, though not highly combative, with some physical combat capability.]
An assistant profession from legends?
Su Changxing entered, bowing to inspect the objects displayed on the shelves, variously sized, looking like a pile of miscellaneous items in a fancy box.
These were indeed all Mysterious Items, but all were of the lowest grade.
For example, there was a magnifying glass with an extraordinary magnification beyond logic, usable as a microscope.
This item seemed quite redundant for most people, unusable for combat or survival.
"Are you an Extraordinary?"
Su Changxing toyed with the magnifying glass, looked up at him, and suddenly asked.
The man was startled, nearly dropping the fan in his hand.
Only an Extraordinary can identify another, and yet he couldn’t tell Su Changxing was one.
"Yes, how did you recognize it?" He asked warily.
Su Changxing shook his head, naturally saying:
"Naturally, I saw it. Extraordinaries have distinct features, their Extraordinary Power combines with their Spirit to form an aura on their body surface."
The man held his breath, eyes wide as he looked at Su Changxing: "You, are you an Extraordinary too?"
He was not sure, but what Su Changxing said was evidently only known to Extraordinaries.
Su Changxing did not reply but walked in, his eyes flashing with eerie light, staring at him, demanding: "I want to know how long you’ve been an Extraordinary, was it before or after the evacuation of Donglin City?"
A very harsh tone, as if completely disregarding him as an Extraordinary.
He Dongchu immediately felt a powerful aura filling the room, pressing in on him, making it hard to breathe, and involuntarily answered:
"After the evacuation, I received a guided quest, and not long after completing it, I became an Extraordinary... the quest reward helped me."
"My luck was good, completing the quest easily, without much effort."
Su Changxing curiously asked: "Easily? How easily?"
He Dongchu awkwardly smiled and said: "At that time, I appeared in a deserted mountain area, no signs of people, only giant trees, and my quest was to survive there for six hours.
He shrugged, recalling: "Nothing happened, I just sat on a big rock for six hours, a bit baffling.
"Seems indeed very easy."
Su Changxing acknowledged, but inwardly wondered why his quest was so complex, involving both a murderer and a Player.
Could it be due to the difference in power level?
The Doomsday Game seems to tailor tasks accordingly, which Su Changxing had sensed before, in the flexibility of task issuance.
However, He Dongchu’s task shouldn’t have been this simple, perhaps he inadvertently avoided some danger.
This danger might have been beyond imagination.
