Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator
Chapter 491: The island has disappeared.
Until that Red Sea creature completely stopped moving, Lin Ye finally poked his head out from behind the rock. His three fishing companions had already been turned into sprinkling watering cans by those water jets.
"How can you go fishing without being careful of water jets? It seems none of you are professional fishing enthusiasts."
Lin Ye said somewhat helplessly.
"This is the first time I've ever encountered a fish that can spray water jets! And you call this a water jet? Are you sure this isn't some kind of biological machine gun?!"
Damon lay on the ground with a pained expression, cotton stuffing continuously spraying out from the holes in his body.
"You're making a fuss over nothing; this is just the limit of your skill as a fishing enthusiast."
Lin Ye repaired their bodies using runes like Molding and Synthesis.
"...I'm actually not a fishing enthusiast at all. You should handle this fish, sir."
Damon moved away from the fishing rod and that pale red sea, feeling a bit uncomfortable inside his stomach.
While Lin Ye treated their wounds, he removed most of the seawater inside them, but some seawater still remained within their bodies.
"Then you'd better stay far away. I can't even be sure of the attack range of these Red Sea creatures."
Lin Ye picked up the corpse on the ground to examine its mutation structure. This kind of mutation organ capable of continuously spraying water jets also held some reference value for Lin Ye.
This slender Red Sea creature had a very simple body structure, mainly consisting of the attack organ occupying most of its body and some rather insignificant survival-type organs.
Lin Ye removed the attack organ from the corpse and threw the remaining parts into that mouth.
Lin Ye could also use this attack organ, but it required some adjustments.
"Has this mouth gotten a bit bigger? Is it because of feeding?"
Mu Kai suddenly spoke up.
"No, it had grown a bit before feeding. It actually shrank a tiny bit just now during feeding."
Lin Ye cast his fishhook into the Red Sea once more. He needed to find enough food to feed the big mouth as quickly as possible; otherwise, they might become the big mouth's food.
If not forced into a corner, Lin Ye wouldn't try to attack the big mouth, because they were likely on the big mouth's Master's body. This food was probably the fee for staying.
This was the Red Sea, after all; there shouldn't be any proper islands here.
Furthermore, Lin Ye also noticed the sea level was slowly rising. They had to feed the big mouth before the island was submerged by seawater; otherwise, the ritual would fail, and they would be forced into the Red Sea, becoming part of it.
The three D-Class personnel sat back down by the shore and continued fishing. They had also figured out this problem; no one wanted to die in a place like this.
Lin Ye cast his fishing rod again, and a flat Red Sea creature was hooked out of the water.
This time, Lin Ye directly shot a large number of pale red water jets at the flat Red Sea creature. However, those water jets were reflected back by the flat creature.
"Damn it! Again?!"
Damon and the other two were shot down once more. Lin Ye could only barely block the water jets aimed at him, with no spare energy to worry about others.
However, after the flat Red Sea creature died, Lin Ye quickly stitched them back up.
"Big brother, could you please not fish for these dangerous creatures?"
Damon said painfully.
"Believe me, this already counts as a safe creature."
Lin Ye removed the reflection organ from the flat Red Sea creature and threw the remaining parts into the big mouth's interior.
After dealing with the flat creature's corpse, Lin Ye cast his line into the sea again.
This time, he cast his hook toward a Shadow in the seawater, so shortly after the hook entered the water, Lin Ye pulled it back out.
The hook had caught a spherical Red Sea creature covered with protruding brains. As soon as this creature left the water, it unleashed some kind of mental attack on the surroundings. Lin Ye didn't feel much, but the others covered their heads, fell to the ground, and screamed in agony.
This time, Lin Ye didn't wait for the brain-blossom monster to die. He directly sliced open its body and removed the organ it used to release the mental attack.
Lin Ye continuously fished out various strange Red Sea creatures from the seawater. He removed their important organs and fashioned these organs into simple biological tools.
The extra tools were distributed by Lin Ye to the three D-Class personnel. With their assistance, Lin Ye could improve the efficiency of fishing and feeding.
But even so, Lin Ye's speed still couldn't keep up with the rising seawater. By the time the big mouth had closed halfway, the pale red seawater had already spread to outside the Lounge door.
"What do we do? The island is going to be submerged soon!"
Damon, holding a bunch of fish intestines, said anxiously.
"At this rate, we simply can't make it!"
Mu Kai was also very anxious; he didn't want to die in a place like this.
Although Kalin didn't speak, her face was deathly pale, and her hands were gripping the large tendril in her grasp tightly. She also didn't want to die here; there were things outside she hadn't had time to finish.
"Right, at the current speed, it's indeed too late. But we can change our approach."
Lin Ye took out the hazmat suit that previously stored the concentrated contaminated pool water and poured the concentrated water into the seawater at the edge of the island.
This contaminated liquid emitted a special kind of fluctuation, which might attract some Red Sea creatures to gather around the island.
This wasn't a very safe method, but there was no time to worry about that now.
As soon as the concentrated contaminated pool water entered the Red Sea, Lin Ye sensed a large number of Shadows gathering toward the island from beneath the sea. He had just thought about casting a few lines first when the island beneath his feet began to dive rapidly. Lin Ye and the others had no time to react and fell into the Red Sea along with it.
The island's diving speed was extremely fast, quickly leaving Lin Ye's perception range. Lin Ye had no time to worry about that island; they were already surrounded by a large number of Red Sea creatures.
Of course, this actually wasn't much of a problem, because non-Red Sea creatures like them fundamentally couldn't survive within the Red Sea.
Dollification could let them live a bit longer, but that was all.
Lin Ye absorbed spiritual energy from the seawater to propel himself downward, but the red pigment in the Red Sea was rapidly modifying his body structure. By the time he left the Red Sea, his body could no longer adapt to the external environment.
This was also the reason why those low-level Red Sea creatures died quickly after leaving the seawater.
Lin Ye could only return inside the Red Sea. In reality, this made no difference, because the Lounge had already sunk into the depths of the Red Sea; they couldn't go back.
A gigantic Shadow was rising. Lin Ye could see its outline; it was a giant Red Sea creature covered in tendrils. It seemed interested in that concentrated contaminated pool water. It was because it was approaching that the island had fled to the depths of the Red Sea.
A massive tendril approached this area of the sea. However, before the tendril could get close, a thick gray-white mist suddenly rose over the sea surface.
Above the mist, an inverted Abyss appeared in that dark red sky. The pale red seawater and the creatures within it began to fall toward that Abyss, as if heaven and earth had been inverted.
Unlike the tenacious Lin Ye, his three teammates died out very quickly.
