Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill
Chapter 217: Blast Staff
Li Wei stood before a full-length mirror.
He gazed at the Crystal Shield on his body in the reflection.
The Invisible Armor was no longer restricted to an armor-like form.
Once disassembled, the thirty-six pieces of Crystal could form various types of protection.
It could form a crystal wall, focusing all Defense Power forward.
It could become a Crystal Ball, enveloping his entire body.
The pieces could also manifest individually.
And most importantly, there was the charging stance: twenty-eight Hexagonal Crystals would wrap around his body, forming a bullet-shaped shield.
The remaining eight Hexagonal Crystals would assemble behind him to form a thruster nozzle.
This maximized his burst speed and Flying speed.
It had been tested in his dreams.
His top Flying speed had increased from the original 670 meters per second to 800 meters per second.
As fast as lightning!
When Li Wei flew at full speed, very few Magic spells could keep up with him.
Looking at his reflection, he retracted the Crystal Armor with satisfaction.
Thirty-six Crystal Shields.
They could withstand at least thirty-six attacks from Tier Three Magic.
Even Li Wei himself was deeply shaken by his current defense.
The cost was equally enormous.
To manifest the thirty-six Crystal Shields, he would need to expend his entire Mana reserves eight times over.
Without the Fire Spirit Pearl Necklace, just manifesting these Crystal Shields would have taken him a day or two.
Li Wei glanced down at the Fire Spirit Pearl Necklace.
He was a little worried that too much of its energy had been consumed.
After checking, he found that this consumption was still just a drop in the ocean for the Fire Spirit Pearl.
The Fire Spirit Pearl contained the energy a volcano had released over several hundred years.
Li Wei’s worries were premature.
For now, at least, he didn’t have the ability to deplete the Power within the Fire Spirit Pearl.
Six days had passed since Li Wei had given the materials to Troska.
He finally received word from him.
He arrived at Troska’s forge.
"Please, let me see the master. I have truly important business."
"Sorry, my father isn’t taking any commissions lately."
Willie was at the door, blocking a nobleman.
When he saw Li Wei approaching, he said, "You’re here. My father is waiting for you inside."
Li Wei glanced at the nobleman at the door, nodded to Willie, and walked inside.
The nobleman watched this scene, a look of surprise on his face.
He took a long, hard look at Li Wei.
The nobleman looked at Willie and asked, "Who is he? Why can he go in and see the master?"
Willie glanced at him, not bothering to reply.
"Goodbye. See yourself out."
Willie turned, went back inside, and shut the main door.
The nobleman stared at the closed door, his expression frozen.
He had no choice but to turn and leave.
But the image of Li Wei echoed in his mind.
’Who on earth is he?’
When Li Wei saw Troska, he looked around and asked, "Where’s my Magic Staff?"
Troska lifted a red cloth and said, "Right here."
"This is the Magic Staff I custom-made for you."
Li Wei looked at the strangely shaped Magic Staff before him, his expression hesitant.
"Is this really a Magic Staff? Not a Wolf Fang Club?"
Troska chuckled. "Why would I lie to you?"
He picked it up and handed it to Li Wei. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Try it."
Li Wei took the Magic Staff.
The Magic Staff looked nothing like a staff.
The lower half was a long handle, while the upper half was a combination of tetrahedrons that resembled a Wolf Fang Club.
He infused it with Mana and found the flow to be exceptionally smooth.
His Casting speed had increased considerably.
He used a regular Fireball Skill.
A Fireball shot out, flew toward the sky, and exploded mid-air.
"Hmm, the power amplification is probably around fifty percent."
Troska said, "55%, to be exact. This staff can increase your Magic’s power by 55%."
"Because it uses Mithril and some other special materials, it can also increase Casting speed by about 20%. The specifics depend on the user."
"The staff has one more special function. Try using your Mana to activate the runes on the upper end."
Li Wei did as Troska said and activated the runes with his Mana.
The upper half of the Magic Staff lit up, extending and growing larger.
Finally, the staff transformed into a giant, three-meter-long, square-headed Star Hammer.
The body of the hammer was made of energy.
It didn’t feel heavy when he swung it.
Speechless, Li Wei swung the Star Hammer.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
’It actually feels pretty good.’
Troska said with a smile, "Satisfied?"
"This is a bit over the top," Li Wei said sheepishly. "Anyone who didn’t know better would think I was a Berserker."
Troska said, "Isn’t it perfect?"
Li Wei retracted his Mana, and the Magic Staff returned to normal.
"What’s this Magic Staff called?"
Troska said, "I named it the Blast Staff."
"When the staff becomes a hammer, it looks like the front end has burst open."
Li Wei wiped away nonexistent sweat and gave a forced laugh. "It’s great."
"How much is it?"
Troska said, "The Blast Staff is a high-quality Tier Three Magic Staff. There was some Mithril left over from the forging, which I’ll put toward the processing fee."
"After all that, you still owe me about five hundred gold coins."
Li Wei took out five hundred gold coins and gave them to Troska.
This was the money he got from selling the dozen or so Tier Two Demon Cores he had acquired last time.
Troska put the money away and said, "You really are rich!"
"Your master really treats you well."
Li Wei just smiled and didn’t explain.
Troska assumed Torreska had given him the money.
He didn’t know that Li Wei had earned all this money himself through hard work.
He put the Blast Staff into his Spatial Ring.
Then, Li Wei bid Troska farewell.
As soon as he returned to the Mage Tower, Gu Ze came looking for him.
"Teacher, is something wrong?"
Li Wei asked, seeing Gu Ze hurry over.
Gu Ze said, "Bas is here. I’ll probably be leaving with them soon."
"I’ll take you to meet Bas tonight."
Li Wei said, "Alright."
His heart stirred slightly.
’Bas is here. Does that mean I can finally sell off that loot I’m holding?’
’The Treasure Basin Commerce Association’s traveling merchant caravan should be back soon, too.’
Li Wei couldn’t help but look forward to the manuscript fees he had been waiting on for over half a year.
Having just spent a large sum, he was short on cash right now.
That evening, Gu Ze treated Bas to a meal at Lafei Restaurant to welcome him and help him settle in.
"Uncle Bas, long time no see."
Gu Ze greeted Bas enthusiastically.
The two even shared a hug.
Bas looked a bit fat, but on closer inspection, one would realize he wasn’t fat, but burly.
Although his belly was large, his limbs were thick and strong.
He was clearly not one of those pot-bellied, frail, wealthy middle-aged men.
Bas looked at Li Wei, who was standing to the side, and asked, "Who is he?"
Gu Ze said with a smile, "This is my student, Li Wei."
Li Wei greeted him, "Good evening, Uncle Bas."
Bas sized Li Wei up for a moment, then said with a smile, "Could you be that genius Mage from Maple City?"
Li Wei smiled. "That’s me."
Bas clapped Gu Ze on the shoulder and laughed heartily. "Not bad! To think you could train such a powerful student. Truly impressive!"
Gu Ze quickly said, "It doesn’t have much to do with me. It’s all thanks to Li Wei’s own high talent."
"Don’t be so modest."
"Uncle Bas, please sit. You must be hungry after traveling all day."
"Waiter, bring the food quickly."
