Chapter 222: Chapter 222: Advent

Arnold walked down a deserted street.

He toyed with the Forbidden Magic Shackles, looking up at the Star Demon Eye that had appeared in the sky.

Arnold smiled. "He succeeded."

CLANG!

The Forbidden Magic Shackles clattered to the ground.

Arnold headed out of the city, putting distance between himself and Maple City.

’This city is about to be destroyed.’

When he reached the city gate, he suddenly stopped.

’Oh, I almost forgot.’

’Don’t I have a daughter here?’

’Delis...’

Arnold shook his head and continued walking out of the city.

’Seventeen years of fatherly affection. This, too, is my offering to Lord Yubis.’

He smiled and strode off into the distance.

The guards at the gate were all stunned by the sight in the sky.

No one seemed to notice Arnold as he walked.

Inside the City Lord’s Mansion, Delis stood by the window, her gaze trembling as she stared at the Star Demon Eye in the sky.

She felt as if she was being watched.

It wasn’t just her; everyone felt the gaze of the Star Demon Eye upon them.

Their bodies were frozen stiff, making it impossible to move.

Torresta stood on the Seventh Floor of the Mage Tower, watching the spectacle unfold in the sky.

A voice echoed from the darkness behind him.

"What’s happening out there? I can feel a terrifying aura."

"Don’t tell me you’ve summoned an Evil God?"

"You’re going to die anyway, so hurry up and let me out."

Torresta watched the Star Demon Eye in silence, seemingly unaffected.

He turned and glanced into the darkness.

"Don’t even think about it. If Maple City is destroyed, you’ll go down with it."

Upon hearing this, the voice in the darkness wasn’t angry. Instead, it sounded secretly delighted.

"Finally! I know where this place is!"

"Next time I see that kid, I’ll tell him to come find me in Maple City."

"One day, I will leave this godforsaken place!"

Torresta left the Seventh Floor.

Haros stared at the Star Demon Eye in the sky, muttering curses.

"This damn Divine Worship Ceremony... did they have to cause such a huge ruckus?"

Lilia looked up and froze on the spot.

Haros waved his hand, and a wave of power enveloped Lilia.

She snapped out of her stupor, able to move again.

"What in the world is that thing?" Lilia asked, terrified.

Haros answered casually, "An otherworldly Evil God."

"Forget about it. We need to get out of this godforsaken place, fast."

Shadows swirled from Haros’s body, enveloping them both and carrying them swiftly into the distance.

Li Wei stared up at the Star Demon Eye, his neck starting to ache.

After staring for so long, he was starting to figure a few things out.

’Isn’t that thing just one of the stars hanging high in the sky of the Dream World?’

The first time Li Wei had seen the one hundred and eight stars in the Dream World’s sky, he had thought they looked like eyes.

And now it looked like they really were goddamn eyeballs!

’Is this thing Yubis?’ Li Wei wondered.

’But if the Star Demon Eye is Yubis...’

’...then what was that black claw that just shredded the Evil God’s projection?’

Otz lowered his head. "Begin."

The Cleric picked up the Holy Light Crystal and walked toward the pillar of light.

He tossed the Holy Light Crystal into the pillar of light.

Instantly, the black pillar of light erupted in a sacred glow.

The Star Demon Eye seemed to sense something, and a beam of black light shot down from it.

As the Holy Light Crystal entered the pillar, the Star Demon Eye’s power was gradually expelled from this world.

Everyone regained the ability to move.

Li Wei looked up. A figure emerged from within the descending black light.

When he saw the figure clearly, his pupils constricted.

’Tyr! How can it be him?’

A six-meter-tall effigy of an Evil God emerged from the black light, its face bearing a strong resemblance to Tyr.

Tyr slowly opened his eyes.

The void receded, and the world flooded back into his senses.

At the moment of his death in the explosion, his consciousness had been snatched away by some unknown power.

He had been adrift in the void ever since.

Only now had he finally returned to the world.

Tyr had become the vessel for the Evil God’s descent into the world.

He could recall his memories from before his death, but he remained unmoved, as if he had lost all emotion.

The only thought in his mind was to bring about the descent of the great Holy Spirit.

He looked down and dove toward the Cleric on the altar.

A black storm coalesced in his hand, forming a Great Sword.

He slashed down with the sword.

A hundred-meter-wide wave of black Sword Qi crashed toward the ground.

The Cleric’s face changed drastically, his expression one of pure terror.

Such terrifying power made him tremble.

Otz stepped forward, his expression grim as he drew the sword from his waist.

He stomped hard on the ground, leaping into the air to meet the descending black Sword Qi.

"Break!"

A flash of azure light flared in the sky.

The azure Sword Qi shattered the black Sword Qi, and the two forces exploded, unleashing a fierce gale that swept across the area.

The Professionals on the altar were all blown away.

Swarms of ordinary people in the vicinity were knocked to the ground.

Li Wei looked up to see Otz’s figure slowly descending.

He now understood just how strong Otz was.

A Tier Five Great Sword Master!

However, Tyr had already obtained the Evil God’s power and become the deity’s avatar.

Even a Tier Five Great Sword Master seemed pathetically weak before him.

Otz had to use all his strength just to shatter a single wave of Sword Qi that Tyr had casually thrown out.

"Dark Storm!"

Tyr raised his left hand, and black lightning crackled in his palm.

BOOM!

The black lightning struck mid-air, and the surrounding Wind Elements gathered frantically to form a Dark Storm.

Terrifying black lightning arced continuously within the Dark Storm.

WHOOSH!

The Dark Storm descended upon the crowd, poised to sweep across the entire field.

If this attack landed, it was likely that none of the ordinary people present would survive.

"Sacred Aegis!"

The Cleric activated the altar’s defenses.

The Magic Array inscribed on the altar erupted with all its power, instantly forming an enormous Magic Barrier.

"Quick, everyone get inside!"

Soldiers shouted, urging the civilians to flee inside the Magic Barrier.

They didn’t have time to run; the Magic Barrier was their only hope of survival.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

The Dark Storm collided with the Magic Barrier, causing it to tremble violently.

Otz had barely landed before he shot back up into the sky.

"Wind Elf Wings!"

Komas cast a spell, granting Otz a pair of wings.

Otz glanced down for a moment before charging toward Tyr in mid-air without a backward look.

On the ground, everyone did their utmost to hold back the Dark Storm—to stop Evil God Tyr.

The weaker Professionals couldn’t intervene in the battle. They could only gaze up at the sky, anxiously praying for victory.

Tens of thousands of people surged onto the altar, crowding it to capacity.

Li Wei stepped out from the altar.

Seeing this, the person next to him immediately squeezed forward to take the spot Li Wei had just vacated.

He gazed at the sky, his expression grim.

’Otz is no match for Evil God Tyr.’

’Evil God Tyr is fighting Otz while simultaneously controlling the Dark Storm to attack the altar.’

’He doesn’t want to destroy the altar.’

’He just wants to kill everyone.’

’To sacrifice them all to the Evil God.’

’To hasten the Evil God’s descent.’

’If no one helps, Otz is doomed to lose.’

’And if Otz falls, everyone else will die too.’

’I’m the only one here who can intervene in this fight.’

’But I’ll only have one chance.’

’If I fail, Evil God Tyr will hunt me to the ends of the earth.’
