Li Wei walked through the golden gate and arrived at the deepest part of the Endless Maze.

The sight before him froze him in place.

He had imagined all sorts of magnificent and magical sights he might find in the deepest reaches of the Endless Maze.

But he never expected this.

He stood inside an enormous prison cell, faced with innumerable, straight, pitch-black iron bars.

The pitch-black iron bars shot straight up into the sky, so high he couldn’t see their tops.

Here, Li Wei was as insignificant as an ant.

The distance between any two bars was at least a hundred meters.

’What kind of monster could possibly be imprisoned in a cell like this?’

Li Wei glanced back. Something seemed to be alive in the darkness deep within the cell.

The prisoner in this colossal cell was still alive.

It suddenly dawned on Li Wei.

The Endless Maze was actually a prison.

The Endless Maze should be called the Endless Prison.

Every Maze Palace Hall was actually a prison cell.

’It’s hard to imagine who could have built this prison,’ he thought, ’and even harder to imagine what kind of being would be locked away in a cell like this.’

Li Wei ventured deeper into the cell.

He had already given up hope of earning any Points.

A being imprisoned in a cell of this caliber could probably kill him with a single breath.

The Power of the Legendary Creatures was still vivid in his mind.

The cell was simply enormous.

Its area was comparable to that of a large human city.

Li Wei walked for a long time before he saw the end of the cell.

Countless enormous chains bound a gigantic serpent.

The giant serpent had hundreds of heads, each one pierced by a massive iron spike and nailed to the wall.

They looked like blooming flowers.

The serpent’s body was bound by innumerable massive chains, holding it so tightly it couldn’t move an inch.

The great serpent was still, making no sound.

Suddenly, the hundreds of heads nailed to the wall opened their eyes.

An intense killing intent overwhelmed Li Wei’s consciousness.

"KILL! KILL! KILL! DIE! DIE! DIE! DESTROY EVERYTHING!"

After a long moment, ninety-nine of the heads squeezed their eyes shut, leaving only a single one staring at Li Wei.

Only then did Li Wei break free from the endless killing intent and resentment.

His heart pounded with fear.

This was a Serpent of Destruction. It had once destroyed a world.

Now, it was imprisoned by the master of the Endless Maze in this prison, deep in the maze’s core.

This was a Divine Level monster.

Li Wei couldn’t take another step closer.

Even though the Serpent of Destruction’s Power was completely sealed.

Approaching it rashly would still be dangerous.

’I hope the deepest part of the Infinite Maze isn’t filled with monsters like this.’

Li Wei wanted to leave this place right now.

This place was too dangerous.

If not for a few lingering hopes, Li Wei would have given up on his final exam and withdrawn from the Endless Maze immediately.

Li Wei walked out of the cell holding the Serpent of Destruction.

The cell’s restraints had no effect on someone as insignificant as him.

He was too weak.

He was even less of a threat than a single one of the Serpent of Destruction’s Scales.

After exiting the prison of the Serpent of Destruction, he found himself not in a prison corridor, but on a fractured patch of land.

Reaching the edge of the fractured land, Li Wei looked around.

He saw numerous cells scattered throughout the Void.

The cells were completely isolated from one another, with no way to get close.

Li Wei tried to fly out.

He discovered that Flying was not forbidden here.

As he flew across the Void, Li Wei’s heart pounded in his chest.

He was terrified that a monster would emerge from the Void and attack him.

THUD!

Li Wei landed on the edge of another cell.

He glanced back. The Void was deathly still.

It seemed there was nothing else here besides the monsters imprisoned in the cells.

Li Wei was the only living thing that could move freely.

He walked toward the cell.

This time, he found the cell was a normal size.

Five meters long, five meters wide, and three meters high.

Bars forged from an unknown black metal held a prisoner, whose body was pierced by numerous chains.

The ends of the chains were embedded in the walls of the cell.

Li Wei peered into the cell.

A pair of blood-red eyes opened in the darkness.

The crimson glow was deeply unsettling.

Li Wei cast some Magic, illuminating the scene inside the cell.

A Werewolf, drenched in blood, was shackled within the cell.

The Werewolf stared at Li Wei, baring its sharp fangs with a ferocious expression.

All reason seemed to have vanished from its eyes, leaving only madness.

The Werewolf had been imprisoned here for an unknown length of time.

The endless emptiness had long since tortured it to the point of mental collapse.

Its immense Life Force kept it from dying.

But it had lost all reason, left with only the instinct to survive.

HROOOAR!

The Werewolf let out a hoarse roar.

Li Wei sensed the powerful aura emanating from it.

’Is this a Legendary Creature?’

Li Wei tried to attack the Werewolf.

The attack landed on the Werewolf, triggering the Forbidden Magic effect on the chains.

Instantly, all Magic was nullified.

Though the Werewolf was only a Legendary Creature, the chains binding it were the same kind that held the Serpent of Destruction.

They contained the Power of Rules.

Li Wei had no way of breaking the Rule on the chains to kill the Werewolf.

Attacked and provoked, the Werewolf struggled desperately,

causing the chains to rattle violently.

Its wounds bled continuously.

Li Wei spotted a blood-red flower growing in a pool of blood in the corner.

A jolt went through him.

’A Blood Soul Flower?’

The Blood Soul Flower is one of the materials for the Reincarnation of the Impure World.

It’s a key ingredient for fusing a soul back with flesh and blood.

Li Wei cast his Object Control Skill, trying to pluck the Blood Soul Flower.

A blast of air from a lash of the Werewolf’s tail shot out and shattered his Mage’s Hand.

The Werewolf was instinctively protecting the Blood Soul Flower.

The Blood Soul Flower was grown from its own blood and soul.

To the Werewolf, the Blood Soul Flower was a part of its very being.

Li Wei trying to take the Blood Soul Flower was like tearing away its flesh and stealing its soul.

This could not be allowed.

Li Wei looked at the Werewolf. He knew he wouldn’t be able to get the Blood Soul Flower without dealing with the creature first.

He took out the Rune Stone.

The Rune Stone the Fire Element Elder had given him.

Li Wei didn’t expect to have to use it so soon.

But if he could get the Blood Soul Flower, it would be well worth it.

As he activated the Rune Stone, Li Wei worried that it might not work here.

Because this place was also part of the Endless Maze.

No Magic Items could be used inside the Endless Maze.
