Chapter 319: Chapter 319: The Trial of the Purple Level Class, Passed

Orpheus and Ateskin stopped to observe the surrounding murals.

They searched all around for hidden mechanisms.

They even tried attacking the murals on the corridor walls.

But they discovered the corridor was under the effect of Forbidden Magic, and no Magic could be used at all.

The two of them were utterly baffled by the Purple Level Class’s trial.

What were they supposed to do?

"Are we just supposed to walk to the end?"

Ateskin said.

He strode forward, then broke into a run.

Orpheus glanced at the unhurried Li Wei, thought for a moment, and decided not to rush after Ateskin.

He felt the trial couldn’t be that simple.

If passing the trial was as simple as walking to the end, then who could possibly fail?

Getting into the Purple Level Class wouldn’t be so difficult.

Orpheus felt the answer was hidden in the surrounding murals.

He tried to use his Spiritual Power to search for clues that might be hidden in the murals.

Unfortunately, even under the scrutiny of his Spiritual Power, the murals seemed to be just ordinary paintings, possessing no magical effects.

Li Wei pondered as he walked.

He, too, was wondering what exactly the trial for the Purple Level Class was.

Li Wei thought of Stier.

’Stier is a student in the Purple Level Class. What’s the difference between him and an ordinary Mage?’

’A bloodline?’

’That’s probably not the key.’

People with special bloodlines weren’t uncommon.

The Elemental Tower gathered the world’s most elite Mages, and quite a few of them possessed special bloodlines.

But very few of them could get into the Purple Level Class.

’Strength?’

Stier was indeed far more powerful than an ordinary Mage.

He could easily unleash Power a whole realm beyond his own.

’But that isn’t the key either,’ Li Wei thought.

He suddenly thought of Lilia.

’Speaking of which, wasn’t Lilia brought back to the Elemental Tower by Haros?’

’Why have I never seen her in the Elemental Tower?’

A suspicion began to form in Li Wei’s mind.

Lilia was most likely in the Purple Level Class.

Other than that, there was only one other possibility: Lilia and Haros were still on their way to the Elemental Tower.

Li Wei thought that was highly unlikely.

Haros wouldn’t have brought Lilia to the Elemental Tower on foot.

’Walk from the Northern Territory to Storm City?’

’That’s tens of thousands of kilometers. It would take a lifetime.’

Li Wei was more inclined to believe Lilia was in the Purple Level Class.

That would explain why he’d never seen her.

’Why would Lilia be able to get into the Purple Level Class?’

’What traits do she and Stier have in common?’

’A powerful bloodline, immense strength... those aren’t the key points.’

Li Wei’s eyes gradually lit up. ’The key is potential.’

Lilia and Stier both possessed extremely high potential.

As long as they didn’t die prematurely, it was almost a certainty that they would become Tier Six Mages.

Whether they could become Legendary Mages, however, would depend on luck.

’But what does potential have to do with these historical murals?’

Li Wei couldn’t figure it out.

He changed his perspective and re-examined the historical murals.

He began to view the evolution of history from a human perspective.

He stopped looking at the events in isolation.

Suddenly, he discovered something.

In the corners or backgrounds of every historical mural, there were several blurry human figures.

These figures were present in every single historical mural.

’The masterminds behind history?’

That was Li Wei’s first reaction.

But he quickly changed his mind.

’This is a legacy. The legacy of humanity, the legacy of history.’

’The historical murals tell the story of humanity’s legacy.’

Following the figures in the murals that represented this legacy, Li Wei walked onward.

When Orpheus looked over again, he found that Li Wei had vanished.

He hurriedly ran forward.

After running for a while, he still couldn’t find Li Wei.

Instead, he saw Ateskin, who had run off much earlier.

Orpheus quickly asked, "Have you seen Li Wei?"

Ateskin looked confused.

"Wasn’t Li Wei with you? What happened to him?"

Orpheus was startled, his expression growing more confused.

"Li Wei vanished."

"Huh?"

Ateskin looked shocked.

They exchanged a glance as the same thought occurred to them.

Ateskin guessed, "Don’t tell me he found the exit?"

Orpheus looked at Ateskin, his eyes filled with doubt.

Ateskin explained, "There’s no end up ahead. This corridor has no exit. No matter how long you walk, you can’t get out."

"There must be a hidden mechanism or a Magic Array here, and Li Wei most likely found it," Ateskin asserted.

Orpheus complained, "If Li Wei found it, why didn’t he tell us?"

Ateskin was also frustrated.

He, of course, also wanted Li Wei to share the answer to the trial.

The three of them weren’t competitors.

There was never a rule that only one person could get into the Purple Level Class.

As long as they passed the trial, all three of them could get in.

Orpheus and Ateskin felt a twinge of regret, wondering why they hadn’t tried to build a better relationship with Li Wei earlier.

Then they would have known the answer.

With no other choice, the two of them resumed their search for hidden mechanisms and Magic Arrays in the corridor.

They didn’t notice.

On the murals beside them, a single figure was steadily advancing.

Li Wei followed the figure on the mural, the one representing the inheritor of humanity’s legacy.

He discovered that he had become that figure. Events from history reappeared before his eyes, and he experienced various Epic tales and legends from a first-person perspective.

He had forgotten his own identity.

The only thought in his mind was to keep moving forward.

To carry humanity’s legacy ever forward.

An unknown amount of time passed, and the memories of history began to blur.

A door appeared before Li Wei.

Without hesitating, he walked through it.

Li Wei found himself on a grassy lawn.

He looked back, but there was no door behind him.

He had appeared out of thin air.

RUSTLE.

A figure appeared before Li Wei.

"Welcome to the Celestial Realm. Welcome to the Purple Level Class."

Li Wei turned to look, his expression one of surprise.

He actually recognized the person.

"Eiris?" Li Wei said in surprise.

Eiris smiled. "Yes, it’s me. I’m surprised you still remember me."

"What are you doing here? Is this the Purple Level Class?" Li Wei asked.

Eiris said, "Because I’m a student in the Purple Level Class, of course."

"But aren’t you already a Grand Mage?" Li Wei asked, confused.

Grand Mages can graduate from the Elemental Tower.

They’re no longer considered students.

Eiris chuckled. "Becoming a Grand Mage isn’t the graduation requirement for the Purple Level Class."

"Let me fill you in.

Right now, there are twenty-three people in the Purple Level Class. Including you, that makes twenty-four.

The longest-staying member has been here for over twenty years. I’ve been here for eight years myself, so I guess you could call me a veteran.

Before you, the newest student joined three months ago.

Come to think of it, they came to the Elemental Tower in the same batch as you. You might even know them."

Eiris said with admiration, "In the last hundred years, you’re only the fifth person to pass the trial and become a student of the Purple Level Class. The four before you have all become Legendary Mages. Your future is boundless."

Li Wei was a little surprised. "So few?"

"I didn’t think the trial was that difficult."

Eiris glanced at him. "That’s a classic case of ’it’s only easy if you know how.’"

"For many things, knowing what to do and being able to do it are two different matters. Even if you gave the other two the answer, they still wouldn’t be able to pass."
