After discussing all the details with Arlo, Shin also gave instructions to some of the girls. He had enough food stored inside his storage ring, so they would be fine for quite a while.

His plan was simple.

He wanted Arlo and Lara to train the girls in the test area and help them grow stronger. Afterward, they would guide them to the next phase, properly fulfilling their roles as instructors.

"So, what’s your plan?" Liliel finally appeared on his shoulder, blinking curiously. "I didn’t expect you to get involved with the Ice Wolf Clan. Do you really think you can save them from destruction?"

"Yes," he commented while lying alone on his bed, finding it strange just how much cat fur was scattered around it. It seemed like far too much to belong to Zoe alone, but he decided to ignore it. "I didn’t originally plan on doing it, but I’ve been gaining power much faster than expected."

Liliel listened to him and then fell silent for a moment. In truth, he was already approaching the necessary level of strength. With a full year of training, it wasn’t impossible.

"Besides, I want to save her if possible," Shin said, remembering one of his favorite characters from the game. "Even if she’s arrogant and obnoxious," he added with an ironic smile.

"That makes sense. So our priority must be getting you an arm, right?" the little fairy asked, already thinking ahead about their future plans. "But what will you do about Lilith? I’m sure she wants you in her clan. And technically you are already part of Heaven."

"Let’s just hope she won’t kill me," he smiled ironically. "Now, more importantly, could you tell me what you discovered with Zack?"

"Yes! I think I understand a bit better how systems that work on other people’s minds function. It’s similar to what that hypnotic boy did. However, I still can’t actually replicate it."

Liliel flew around the room in frustration, trying her best to explain what she had learned. Unfortunately, her explanation was vague and confusing, mostly because even the fairy herself didn’t fully understand the mechanism behind it.

"Still, one thing I know is that what he does is completely different from what I do," she said despairingly.

In her case, she became an immaterial existence, almost like a projection detached from reality itself. That was why people struggled to notice her presence.

Zack, on the other hand, directly interfered with people’s minds, subtly manipulating their perception and attention.

"We were lucky with that," Liliel commented honestly. "That power is hers. All I did was give a small push. It was very interesting. Her traumas were blocking her from using her full potential. I had never seen anything like that."

Shin nodded, thinking back to the game. "It would be the first time something like that happened."

"But what interested me wasn’t the transformation itself." Liliel pondered in the air excitedly.

"What do you mean?"

"Lara has a rune engraved on her body," Liliel explained. "It marks her as a Sacred Virgin. But the really cool thing is that the rune works somewhat similarly to a system," Liliel continued excitedly. "But it’s not nearly as advanced."

"So the runes are like man-made systems?" Shin asked. In the tower, many clans had some form of simple runes.

"Beastkin-made," Liliel corrected him with a smug smile. "But it’s basically that. Structurally they are similar, but runes are much simpler. Honestly, calling it a proto-system would probably be more accurate."

"And what does it do?"

"It basically monitors her behavior," the fairy explained. "The rune checks whether she is keeping her virginity or not."

"It makes sense," Shin concluded. "Do you think you could create something like that?"

"I’m not sure how. I understand how it works, but I’m not sure what they use to create it. It would be great if we could visit whoever engraved the rune someday."

"Okay, I think we can do it in the future. By the way, do you know how Lara is? She has been sleeping for so long. I should probably check on her."

Liliel nodded, then landed on his shoulder as the man got up from the bed, intending to go visit Lara.

He opened the door quietly. The room was dimly lit, and there she was — Lara, lying completely naked on the large bed.

The transformation had receded, leaving behind smooth, flawless skin with no fur. Still, she was an imposing beauty: tall, strong, and extremely curvy.
