Evening time, after the intercontinental NGU competitions, 6pm.

Kailen Darkhaven, Julian Seir, Dawnseer, Lotus, and Dexter were seated at a round table, engaged in regular chatter at the moment. Dexter had ordered several dishes at the moment. Kailen had insisted it was not necessary. However, the mayor of Richtchard City was so happy that he could not even control himself.

Kailen becoming not just a finalist but one of the candidates seriously considered for winning the national competition was something that left him extremely shocked and happy. Although he had high hopes for Kailen, hoping and seeing were two different things. Not only Kailen, but even Julian was now a finalist. This was something out of expectations.

Thanks to their achievement, no one could look down on Richtchard City anymore. At the moment, his city had become the pride of the Southern Continent. The days of ridicule were over. He was not the only one who shared similar thoughts.

"Let him order. Thanks to you guys, the Dawnseer Guild is currently famous throughout the whole empire. "The guild is currently undergoing a reconstruction and expansion thanks to you both."

Kailen and Julian warmly nodded. There was no need to reject their goodwill and demonstrate false humility. Kailen’s relationship with these seniors was strictly transactional. But that did not mean they were enemies.

Lotus chimed in, "Our syndicate is also receiving various requests across the Southern Continent. Several powerful guilds and organizations in the Northern Continent even want to contract us to deal with certain threats in the future for them." Her gaze traced to Kailen. "It was really the right call to bury the hatchet and make peace with you."

Before Kailen could even reply, Dexter waved his hand. "Okay, okay, enough reminiscing, let’s dig in. The food has arrived."

Everyone nodded and they began to enjoy their meal.

Across their table, several stared in their direction. Some female transcendents staying at the hotel and eating at the restaurant at the moment were even squealing like a bunch of kids. It was very comical. They had turned into complete fangirls.

"Is that Kailen Darkhaven and Julian Seir?"

"Do you think I should go over and ask for an autograph?"

"Autograph? I think I may have a shot with Kailen Darkhaven. He’s definitely my type."

"Can you blame him? As a mayor whose city has not just been looked down on in the Southern Continent, but in the whole empire, the fact that two finalists have emerged from his city is something that will naturally make him feel proud. Also, if these two soar to higher heights, Richtchard City will have their backing. This is worth going crazy over."

Several discussions similar to what these three ladies were having brewed over the place. Kailen and Julian were either oblivious to these conversations or they did not really care about them.

"So," Dawnseer finally asked the duo, "what do you think about obtaining first place?"

Julian shrugged, "I am confident in my strength, but I think getting second place is as far as I can go. This fellow here..." He gestured in Kailen’s direction as he chewed on his food. "Will definitely win the first place. It’s not a compliment, just facts."

Dawnseer, Lotus, and Dexter were a bit taken aback by Julian’s evaluation of Kailen. But, on considering his words closely, they realized it was not an understatement. Kailen had never taken any of his opponents seriously. Just how powerful was he among Rank 3 novice-stage transcendents?

All this while, Kailen merely smiled at Julian’s words. He could not say the same for himself. That Tawaki Xi was very strong. He did not know what the fellow from the 30th Continent had up his sleeves.

Kailen was sure about one thing. Whether the fellow was strong or not, Kailen knew he had to win. He needed to enter the Venzula Empire Academy.

"Tawaki Xi is very strong. But... first place is already secured," Kailen spoke with genuine certainty, not arrogance.

Several heard the words he exchanged with those at his table. Kailen didn’t know the few words he had spoken were already causing an uproar on social media forums. Also, Julian’s statement of getting second place seemed to cause the same effect. He had indirectly said that since Kailen would get first place and he would get second place, Tawaki Xi was weaker than both of them.

Kailen Darkhaven had said in a dinner conversation with the Lotus Assassin Syndicate leader, the Dawnseer Guild leader, and the Mayor of Richtchard City of the Southern Continent that he had already secured first place.

Will these two be able to back up their words tomorrow with their strength, or will Tawaki Xi overwhelm them?

At this moment, Tawaki Xi replied to one of the posts on a social media forum:

"Let’s not draw conclusions too quickly."
