Heaven, Earth, Me
Chapter 1563. Pouring Out Their Hearts.
Kali sorted out her thoughts, her arms never loosening around Yasenia as if afraid that leaving this hug would make Yasenia dissipate like morning mist under the rays of sunlight. With her thoughts sorted, but her feelings still full of trepidation, Kali looked up at the expressionless look of the dragoness and finally opened her mouth.
"T-This happened around 20 years ago." Kali started. "While attending a meeting, I met someone whom I had never seen until then. Suddenly, when we were close, my bloodline reacted with his and forcefully created a soulmate resonance."
Seeing Yasenia’s lack of surprise or reaction, Kali licked her dry lips and continued. "So, after that happened, I threatened him not to speak about it. However, that man is someone of quite high rank. So, in the end, he revealed it in front of everyone."
Kali, recalling that moment, couldn’t help but feel anger. ’If he had stayed silent...’
Then, shaking her head faintly, she continued. "Because of that, I tried to kill him in one blow. Sadly, his father, who was slightly stronger than me at the time, blocked the punch that carried all my strength. That man is only at the second level of the Mythical Core Beast Realm, so he would’ve for sure died."
There was a touch of remorse that the blow didn’t land. Yasenia continued to listen, even though she had a myriad of complaints about her method. First listen, then ask. Yasenia would never allow her rashness to create misunderstandings between herself and her lovers.
"Back then, it was quite a precarious situation. So, in the end, I didn’t pursue the matter. Later, after things finished, that man’s father quietly protected him before they left. From then on, he was out of my reach."
Kali looked at Yasenia’s eyes, but she saw a few ripples and nothing more. So, she continued.
"It wasn’t until a few years later that we met once more. At that time, Xa Tian came with a few bodyguards. By then, my sect had been somewhat cornered. So, the man had come with the intent to help. However, how could I receive help from him? That’s impossible."
"Why?"
Yasenia asked pointedly, and Kali smiled depreciatingly. "I know how powerful beast instincts are. So, if I allowed him to take a single step closer, even if it were small, I feared what might happen. I am confident I won’t be affected, but I can’t trust a bloodline that’s outside my total control. Even if the chance is less than 0.1%, I refuse to risk it. Hence, to make the least contact possible with him, I just kicked him away and screamed at him to scram."
Yasenia looked at Kali’s self-deprecating smile, and she couldn’t bear it. Her arms raised and finally hugged Kali back.
Kali first flinched, then her eyes misted as tears began to flow freely down her face. "I, hic, I truly didn’t want anything to happen. So, I, hic, I just sealed myself. I don’t even know if my sect survived... I just, I didn’t want to even be close to that guy out of fear."
Kali really felt fear back then. If her body could react so randomly, what about her mind? Would the soulmate connection corrupt her feelings for Yasenia? Would her emotions change silently, like a frog being boiled in warm water?
So, Kali chose to flee and never confront it. She would seal herself and wait for Yasenia to arrive and take her away.
Feeling her fox trembling between her arms, Yasenia’s heart finally softened as she understood the feelings with which Kali confronted him. If she continued blaming her after hearing her confession, Yasenia would not forgive herself.
Hugging her closely, Yasenia pushed her into her bosom and spoke softly. "I understand. Sorry, Honey, for acting like that. I was also... scared. When I heard that you had become soulmates with someone while searching for information, my heart trembled. Countless ’what ifs’ flashed in my mind, and even though I didn’t want to believe them, they prickled at me."
Since Kali had confessed all her fears, Yasenia would do the same. Kali continued crying, from both the tension she had been feeling being released, and also from her heart hurting as she thought of how much Yasenia must’ve hurt during this time. "S-Sorry, this stupid body of mine, t-trying to... I really, hic, hate it."
Yasenia knew at this moment that she couldn’t allow Kali to spiral. Kali was already someone brittle when she found her at first. The effort it took to heal her fox was long and laborious. So, she would not allow this thing to trigger past painful memories or create a new Heart Demon.
Now that she understood, Yasenia would absolutely not allow Kali to feel down. "Don’t say that, love. Your bloodline is great, your body as well."
"N-No, I—"
Yasenia smiled, kissing her tears. "If you were not great, how could our precious Diana be born?"
Kali’s eyes immediately trembled, the spiraling thoughts coming to a straight halt. Yasenia, resting her forehead on Kali’s, smiled softly and gently, the love that had been suppressed by that previous bitterness now blooming in full force.
"Isn’t it right, Honey? Your bloodline and mine mixed so nicely, creating our precious Diana. She is such a unique and beautiful beast, isn’t she?"
Kali’s motherly love surged powerfully, pushing the self-hate down and stomping it with brutal force. The almost newly born Heart Demon was thus slaughtered. Thinking of Diana, Kali quickly nodded. She still stuttered and hiccuped a bit. "Y-Yes. Diana is a beautiful ch-child."
Yasenia laughed, kissing Kali’s salty lips. "That’s right. If Diana is great, of course, her mother is as great."
Kali’s five fox tails began wagging behind her, even though her eyes were filled with unshed tears. She became a bit shy, sniffling. "R-Really? Don’t you ha-hate that my bo-body wants to betray you?"
Yasenia hugged her tightly. "Betray me?" The dragoness finally began releasing the natural charm she had been suppressing so that it would not interfere with their talks. "I dare it to try betray me."
The second Yasenia’s natural charm, neither enhanced nor transformed, surged, Kali’s pupils instantly dilated. Yasenia’s scent pierced her slightly leaky nose, while Yasenia’s eyes became hypnotizing.
Her body, as if out of control, immediately began heating up as her tails wagged furiously behind her. Her fox ears twitched, jumping side to side as Kali’s green eyes took in Yasenia’s current beauty.
Her heart thumped, her cheeks blushed, and her thoughts almost halted besides thinking just how beautiful Yasenia was.
Yasenia, separating a bit with a smile and full of confidence, asked again. "What is my little fox’s body saying right now, eh?"
Kali stuttered, blushing down to her neck. "B-Beautiful."
Yasenia’s gaze softened, and she smiled deeply. "See? Your mischievous bloodline just forgot whose it really was because I took a bit too long. I dare it to recognize a soulmate now with me near you. Do you think it will dare to?"
Kali shook her head quickly, and even her tails began to shake side by side. It really felt as if her body was currently squealing in delight: "Yasenia is the best! Only Yasenia is the best!"
Seeing her like this, Yasenia chuckled lowly and summoned a handkerchief to clean her face and nose. Kali honestly blew her nose, her verdant green eyes constantly looking at Yasenia’s enchanting face.
After finally cleaning her face, Yasenia nodded and then lowered her face to be at the same level as her. Then, with a serious look, she spoke, gazing deeply. "I will kill Xa Tian and his entire clan."
Kali’s tails froze, and then, she shook her head. "You shouldn’t."
Yasenia asked patiently. "Why not?"
Kali explained her previous thoughts. "...like this, we can leave him behind and forget about this problem. We can leave, forget about him, and live our lives."
Yasenia shook her head with a gentle smile. "I won’t leave him alive because of that."
Kali was confused, and she asked with an innocent gaze. "Why not? Isn’t this the best solution?"
"Perhaps," Yasenia nodded. The next second, her gaze turned incredibly possessive, making Kali hiccup. "But I don’t want your soulmate to even exist. If he or she exists, I will kill them and everything that prevents me from killing them. Regardless of how many times it happens, I will kill, kill, and kill until there are no soulmates left for Heaven to choose for you other than myself."
Kali’s face burned as her heart thumped at Yasenia’s brutal yet utterly heart-pounding declaration. She knew that if Yasenia was not already marked, her body would’ve clung to Yasenia like an octopus. She could feel her pheromones basically spraying toward Yasenia quite wildly at this moment, making her a bit ashamed.
Kali saw Yasenia’s nose twitch and then smile deeply, turning her face even redder. ’H-How shameful!’
Yasenia spoke again, her gaze looking at Kali with incredible dominance. "So, I will kill him. Is that clear?"
Kali nodded instantly. ’Whatever! If Yasenia wants to kill, then let’s kill him! Why hesitate?’
"Good girl." Yasenia kissed her nose, almost making Kali squeal in excitement. She could feel her five tails wagging so fast that the grass behind her was being flattened by the wind.
Yasenia, with that solved, extended her arms and hugged her, lifting her feet off the ground as she kissed her lips deeply. Finally, the longing burst forth, and Yasenia attacked Kali’s lips with eagerness.
Kali was initially surprised, but soon, she used her legs and arms to hug Yasenia, exchanging a deep kiss with Yasenia and whimpering in delight.
These past few minutes have been honestly emotionally tiring for both Kali and Yasenia. Now, finally hugging and kissing the soft dragoness, Kali’s nerves relaxed as she sank into Yasenia’s loving embrace.
Feeling each other’s longing, Yasenia and Kali didn’t hesitate to move to the wooden house and reach Kali’s room. While Yasenia had not intended to go this deep, she honestly wanted nothing more than to mark Kali to the point that her little fox would smell of her and deter absolutely everyone else.
Xa Tian could live for a few weeks more for all she cared. It didn’t make a difference to her, as his death was written down and inevitable. Whoever wanted to stop her... they would become Yasenia’s victims.
Meanwhile, outside, everyone waited with tensed looks. However, as they waited, time began flowing.
One day... two days... a week...
By then, Tatyana and the rest relaxed as they could very much guess what was happening inside. So, with a sigh of relief, all of them set up a temporary camp, while Tatyana sent Feixue deep into the seal to use the pressure as tempering.
