Zorat had spent the better part of the rest of his day assimilating with his newly acquired ability.

Myrra and Florielle, now used to his usual pattern, gave him the space he needed in the underground accommodations as he put the finishing touches on his fifth divine authority fragment.

The process of interacting with runes had always been satisfyingly nostalgic to Zorat ever since he arrived in this world. Compounded with the exciting fact that this time.....

Unlike before, where he met a dimension level huddle on his path to power....

This time, he himself can also reach that level. And he had heard from Lumrheal that there was something even beyond the dimension level.....

Which was inconceivable, and it had left the primordial demon king of mischief wondering just how mind-bending an existence that would be.

There were beings of authority in every dimension, and usually, they are set in a fixed number of seven.

But Zorat destroyed that convention by becoming the eighth being of authority in his dimension.

It wasn’t an easy process, and it took so long that time lost meaning.

However, with mischief comes a compulsive need to see things through, challenge, and shatter standard rules and established order or preconceptions.

That’s what set Zorat apart from other demons. Instead of simply operating and being led by his emotions and cravings as a demon.....

he channeled all that madness into effectively pursuing his pleasures and desires. Absolute power just so happens to be one of said desires.

However, he was dealt a huge blow later on, when he discovered he couldn’t actually reach the pinnacle he had desired, leaving Zorat to settle more into his role as a primordial for a while.... Which was quite a long time.

That was until he devised the idea of tearing free from his restraint as a fixed authority being, and jumping dimensions....

breaking yet another convention as he did so, and literally abandoning his plane of existence, residence, and all the other planes of existence he was in charge of.

Zorat had quit his job without leaving a letter of resignation. And now his boss was after him.

As luck would have it. Though there was a little mishap in the process of his transference, he still arrived in a world with the human species, occupying the body of a ’male’ human.

It would have been inconvenient if he had entered a female. Zorat liked to have fun, but not that type of fun.

But his most important gain was the discovery that he could achieve what was impossible to achieve in his dimension of origin, here in the new world, and in a new dimension.

He just has to be quick about it. Get everything done without drawing the attention of that being. And if they were to somehow notice.....

It was an end he would gladly welcome, putting up all the fight he could, while smiling and laughing aloud as he was plucked from the verge of omnipotense.

Now with five divine authority fragments successfully refined and assimilated, he only has to set his sights on the remaining five fragments, and not forgetting the last fragment from the spirit hero, he also has to hunt them down soon.

Zorat’s next target was already set. It is to be the strong and beautiful red-haired flame hero, and former class president, Ariana.

They had conversed a few times, and Zorat recognised her personality to be a little similar to Erica’s. But where Erica is just outspoken and easy going with a strong personality.....

Ariana is outspoken, headstrong, and not so easygoing. She was basically the leader of their friend group if you don’t count Andrew. But she and Andrew were quite close, so it didn’t matter.

Zorat could not confirm from his memories if those two were an item, so he gathered some information in his own way and found out they were simply really good friends.

Zorat did not buy that one bit.

Through his vast experience in the nature of humans, the concept of friendship between opposite sexes was pretentious at best, with either one of the two ’friends’ nursing complicated romantic feelings for the other.

And Zorat already knew which one of them was nursing such feelings.

However, he only had business with one of them at the moment, and that was Ariana. Not so surprising, her deeply seated desire, just like the others, was also unique, but not as thought-provoking as that of Jacob.

And Zorat also encountered an issue with fulfilling said desire in their present setting. For Ariana’s desire to be fulfilled just as her soul craves, they would have to basically be out in the wilderness.

But that wasn’t a problem, since the Saintess’s escort mission is in two days, and he would be killing two birds with one stone. Bringing the Saintess to his side so he can gain access and understanding of the holy sea and what their role is in this world.....

and also getting his sixth divine authority fragment by fulfilling Ariana’s desire along the way.

"Let’s see now..... How was it represented ?" Zorat muttered as his status window came into view.

Though I feel like my physical stats have been stagnant for a while.....

Zorat pondered as he observed his stats.

Though they were remarkable in relation to his level, in terms of stats alone, the hero of Item Box will always be behind the other heroes with crazy initial stats, and progressively improving stats benefits at every level.

He also has this boost as a hero, but not at the same level as the others.

However, Zorat already has a dependable solution for this. One that, with time, would easily put him ahead of the others in physical stats alone. And that solution was currently locked up inside the underground dungeon of the palace.
