Somewhere in the residential district, Lucy sat by her bedroom window, completely awake.

A few minutes ago, her boss had called her in the middle of the night, sounding unusually excited as he instructed her to invest in Titan Manufacturing.

Not only that, he wanted to put all the funds into it at once. That wasn’t something a person, especially an investor should never do.

It was common sense to never put all the eggs in a single basket.

Lucy rubbed her temples.

"What is going on...?"

Hadn’t they agreed earlier on to focus on stocks and equity investments?

With a sigh, she opened her laptop and began researching the company.

The more she read, the deeper her frown became.

The latest news on Titan Manufacturing was that they had recently launched a new product, but sales had been disappointing.

Worse, the company had been hit by a wave of criticism over its pricing strategy.

From every angle she examined it, the investment looked questionable.

Why would the boss want this company?

Lucy leaned back in her chair.

Was it simply because he felt like it? No.

There had to be a deeper reason.

After all, earlier that afternoon she had received news from her private investigator that Zhang Qiang had been arrested several days ago.

Zhang Qiang was the very man from whom Benny had borrowed ¥100,000.

There was no way someone capable of casually deploying ¥5 million had genuinely needed a loan of only ¥100,000.

She had realized that long ago and quietly investigated the matter.

Once she got the information and how the loan shark was caught, she realised one thing.

The loan had never been about the money.

As for the exact purpose...

She still couldn’t figure it out.

But one thing was certain.

Her boss had known something about Zhang Qiang, perhaps he had known the man would be arrested or he had even played a role in it.

Of course, those were only speculations.

Lucy quickly pushed those thoughts aside.

Whatever the truth was, her boss had demonstrated that there was usually a logic behind his seemingly bizarre decisions.

So she returned her attention to Titan Manufacturing.

There has to be something I overlooked she thought.

Thirty minutes passed and then forty.

Adter nearly an hour..... no matter how many reports, financial statements, and market analyses she reviewed, she still couldn’t find a single convincing reason to invest such a large sum into the company.

Finally, she closed her laptop.

"...I’ll try again tomorrow."

If she couldn’t figure it out alone, she would discuss it with the others tomorrow.

Perhaps together they could uncover whatever it was their boss had seen.

In another apartment within the same residential district, a middle-aged man finally closed his computer and removed his glasses.

"Hah..."

He stretched lazily and rolled his shoulders.

"How long was today’s livestream?"

Standing up from his chair, he left the study and headed toward the bathroom.

The man was Han Shen.

Online, however, he was far better known by another name.

Professor Han.

After washing up, he glanced at the clock.

11:00 PM.

It was already quite late but he wasn’t sleepy yet.

A grin spread across his face as he opened his earnings dashboard to see the value of ¥156,000.

His smile widened immediately.

"Tsk, tsk, today is very much more profitable compared to before. Having a bunch of kids looking for investment advice really is the easiest way to make money from."

He was still admiring the numbers when his phone suddenly rang. The caller ID displayed a single word.

Boss.

Han Shen instantly straightened and the arrogance on his face vanished without a trace.

He quickly accepted the call.

"Boss."

A calm voice came from the other end.

"Good job today."

Han Shen’s eyes immediately lit up.

"Thank you, Boss."

He leaned forward slightly despite the other side being unable to see him.

"Trust me. After today’s livestream, Titan Manufacturing is finished."

His tone carried absolute confidence.

"I went through every weakness they have, the debt, their poor sales.

I practically handed investors a list of reasons not to touch them."

He chuckled.

"At this point, not even an idiot would invest in Titan Manufacturing."

A brief silence followed.

Then the old man spoke.

"Good."

Han Shen immediately nodded.

"Yes, Boss."

"Continue watching it."

"I understand."

The old man’s voice remained calm.

"When Titan Manufacturing falls, I’ll remember your contribution."

Han Shen’s heart immediately started racing.

"Thank you, Boss. I won’t disappoint you."

With that the call came to an end.

Beep.

The room became quiet once more and Han Shen slowly lowered his phone.

Then he leaned back in his chair before a smile gradually spread across his face.

Everything was going according to plan.

Titan Manufacturing was already half-dead.

He had merely pushed it a little further.

Soon, very soon, the company would collapse completely.

And then his thoughts drifted towards the woman in the Titan manufacturing company.

The beautiful woman who had rejected him without hesitation.

The woman who had looked at him as if he wasn’t even worth considering.

A cold smile appeared on his face.

Just wait, I’ll make sure you regret rejecting me, you fucking bitch.

Meanwhile, inside a luxurious study.

An old man slowly placed his phone down, a butler stood nearby.

After a brief moment of thought, the old man spoke.

"Look into the person from the livestream asking about the company.

The butler immediately lowered his head.

"Yes, master. I’ll investigate immediately."

The old man gave a slight nod.

With that out of his mind, he rose from his chair and walked toward the floor-to-ceiling window.

His hands rested behind his back as he watched the moonlight illuminate the city below.

For a long moment, he simply looked outside, then his eyes narrowed slightly.

"Hmmm..."

A cold smile appeared on his face.

"Mr. Lin."

His voice was calm.

"I’ll bring down all your businesses, one by one for the betrayal you committed."
