I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 240 - 205: The Marvelous Uses of the New Skill
The sensation was bizarre for Su Ze. His body had transformed into a pool of water, making widespread contact with the smooth, cool tile floor. Every part of this pool had a rich sense of touch, just like his hands.
Furthermore, although he was fully conscious, he couldn’t tell which part of the pool was his brain and which part was his internal organs.
In other words, once he became liquid, his organs were no longer distinct entities.
"Liou Wenxin, try putting your hand inside my body," Su Ze said.
Mrs. Yun and Mr. Ya both jumped in surprise. They hadn’t expected the pool of water to actually speak.
It was true. Su Ze had indeed made a sound. He had no mouth, but miraculously, he could still speak.
Only Liou Wenxin remained unfazed. She reached out and dipped her hand into Su Ze’s liquid form. It felt no different from putting her hand in ordinary water.
For Su Ze, however, the sensation was crystal clear. In his liquid state, he had an incredibly detailed perception of any object that entered his body. He could feel the warmth of Liou Wenxin’s palm and even the fine lines of the fingerprints on each of her slender fingers.
"Alright, I’m going to test my other abilities now."
Su Ze controlled his body, condensing it into a human shape and then meticulously simulating his own facial features. In the blink of an eye, a transparent, liquid "Su Ze" stood before the three of them.
However, this was merely simulating an appearance by changing his liquid form. Fundamentally, it was no different from when he was just a pool on the floor. He could just as easily become a pig or a bird—it was only a change in external shape, nothing more.
In his liquid state, entering a body of water granted him incredible underwater mobility, similar to the Water Escape skill. While not quite as effective as Mr. Ya’s Water Escape—being slightly slower—it wasn’t far off.
Next, Su Ze discovered he could also change the viscosity of his liquid form. It could be as thin as water or as thick as aloe vera juice.
However, he couldn’t transform into corrosive liquids, poisons, or hot oil like the Liquid Turbellaria. Those were effects the creature achieved by combining this ability with its other skills.
But Su Ze had his own combinations. For instance, he could envelop an enemy in his liquid form and then discharge electricity from within.
He could also envelop an enemy before using "Needle Strike." In his liquid state, any part of his body could execute the "Needle Strike" skill.
Furthermore, if he was "injured" in his liquid state—meaning he lost some of his liquid mass—the Regeneration Body skill could actually repair it, causing the lost liquid to "grow back."
In short, he could use all of his skills while in his liquid state.
Moreover, using Liquid Life didn’t decrease his strength at all. He could engage in melee combat just as he would in his normal state. In fact, his amorphous form allowed him to use many unpredictable attacks for a surprise effect... a point Mrs. Yun, who had been his sparring partner, could attest to firsthand.
"Looks like this skill isn’t just good for cleaning the house; it’s pretty effective for beating up old ladies, too," Su Ze said, sloshing around on the floor.
Mrs. Yun gritted her teeth in frustration, but there was nothing she could do. After sparring with him for just a short while, she was now certain that she was no longer Su Ze’s match.
Next, Su Ze began to test the ability he was most excited about: the Cloning Skill.
The Liquid Turbellaria had previously split into dozens, even hundreds, of smaller clones to surround and attack him. Su Ze had coveted that move ever since.
So, he began trying to split himself in two.
In his liquid state, the volume of the liquid was directly related to Su Ze’s body size before Liquefaction.
Coincidentally, Su Ze had swollen up like a balloon after absorbing the Liquid Turbellaria Extract, so the volume of liquid he now comprised was quite large.
He controlled his body, "splitting it in two." It wasn’t difficult; he quickly separated into two distinct pools of liquid.
But then Su Ze discovered something: he had lost control of the second pool of liquid.
There was still some kind of connection between the two pools, however, allowing them to easily merge back into one. Su Ze could also switch his consciousness back and forth between them.
But he could only control the pool his consciousness was currently in; he couldn’t control both at the same time.
This meant he couldn’t create numerous clones like the Liquid Turbellaria.
"It didn’t work?" Liou Wenxin asked from the side.
Su Ze let out a sigh. "The physical differences between humans and Liquid Turbellaria are probably too great. That must be why I can’t split into multiple parts and control them all simultaneously."
This kind of phenomenon was quite common. Take Su Ze’s Regeneration Body skill, for example. It came from the Undying Salamander.
An Undying Salamander could survive and regenerate even if its head was chopped off. But Su Ze, as a human with a different physiology, couldn’t survive being decapitated.
It was the same situation now. A Liquid Turbellaria could create countless clones, but Su Ze, even in his liquid state, could not.
He couldn’t help but feel disappointed. The skill’s most powerful feature was a bust.
After hearing Su Ze’s explanation, Liou Wenxin fell into deep thought.
After a moment, she suddenly said, "Try this: use your Unyielding Will skill first, and then try to split."
’First enter the Unyielding Will state, and then split?’
It was as if a lightbulb went off in Su Ze’s head. ’Of course! That might just work!’
His current problem was his inability to multitask; his consciousness could only focus on one place and couldn’t be divided.
’But the effect of the Unyielding Will skill is to fuse my Spiritual Power with my physical body. If I try to split while in that state, maybe I can divide my consciousness along with my liquid body?’
Su Ze immediately tried it.
Even in his liquid state, he could still use the Unyielding Will skill, fusing his Spiritual Power with every drop of his liquid form.
Then, he controlled his liquid body to separate into two parts.
’It worked!’
Su Ze instantly found himself with two points of view, able to control both masses of liquid simultaneously.
’Let’s keep going. I want to see what my limit is!’
Su Ze controlled the two masses of liquid, forcing them to split again.
This time, they split into four masses of liquid. In essence, Su Ze had become four smaller versions of himself.
’Split again!’
This time, however, he ran into a problem. While he successfully split from four into eight, and his consciousness also divided eight ways, Su Ze found that he had lost control over all eight masses of liquid.
He could only recombine the eight masses back into one with Liou Wenxin’s help.
Liou Wenxin analyzed, "Your Spiritual Power probably isn’t strong enough to control that many bodies at once. As your Spiritual Power increases in the future, the number of clones you can create will also increase."
Su Ze suspected as much. It seemed that controlling four bodies was his current limit.
However, continuing to split like this would also make each clone progressively smaller.
If Su Ze were at his normal body size, splitting into four clones would make each one about the size of a toddler, roughly half a meter tall.
Next, Su Ze tried an experiment: after splitting into four, he had all four clones use a skill simultaneously.
The effect could only be described as stunning!
’So strong!’
Su Ze felt he had finally figured out the right way to use Liquid Life.
Four clones using "Needle Strike" simultaneously would instantly blast four huge holes in an enemy.
Using Furious Waves simultaneously was nothing short of earth-shattering!
Discharging electricity simultaneously meant a quadruple-layered electric shock! But it also meant four times the energy consumption.
He could also unleash four Gravity Chains at once, yanking four people over simultaneously.
In short, everything was more powerful, but the drain was also immense.
A fourfold drain was frankly too much to sustain. It meant he couldn’t fight in this state for very long.
Su Ze exited his liquid state, returning to his body of flesh and blood. He was extremely satisfied with this new skill.
The skill had immense potential. In the future, as his Spiritual Power grew, he would be able to create even more clones and stack even more skill effects.
At this point, Su Ze had fulfilled all the conditions to enter the Divine Dice.
Liou Wenxin suddenly remembered something. "Come to my lab tomorrow," she said. "That headless clone of yours from before is ready to be used."
Su Ze blinked blankly for a moment before remembering that he did, in fact, have a headless clone.
It was a body he had previously shed, which had become animated after being infected by the Pope’s Blood and Flesh Parasite.
Back when Su Ze was in the Cocoon Stage, his Spiritual Power wasn’t high enough to use that clone. But now that he had reached the Butterfly Stage, his Spiritual Power had increased dramatically, making it possible.
Su Ze wasn’t particularly interested. After all, he was already at the Butterfly Stage; controlling a Cocoon Stage clone didn’t seem very useful.
Still, he nodded in agreement. It was a body he had shed, after all; he couldn’t just abandon it.
"The Pope’s Blood and Flesh Parasite Skill is very bizarre. It’s caused that body of yours to undergo some strange changes," said Liou Wenxin.
"What kind of changes?" Su Ze asked, curious.
"You’ll understand when you see it for yourself tomorrow."
It was already very late, so the four of them went their separate ways to bed.
The next day, the first thing Su Ze did after getting up wasn’t to go to the lab with Liou Wenxin, but to find Principal Zhou Wenshan.
He was going to try and secure a spot in the Divine Dice for Mr. Ya.
Su Ze first messaged Zhou Wenshan to confirm he was in his office, then headed straight for the principal’s office at Dongli University.
...
"Are you telling me you’ve not only completed your third evolution, but you also absorbed a Tier Four S-Class Liquid Turbellaria Extract and mastered a Tier Four S-Class skill?"
The half-eaten fried dough stick Zhou Wenshan was having for breakfast froze on its way to his mouth. He stared at Su Ze as if he were looking at a monster.
He and the other three Guardian Gods of Dongli had considered that Su Ze might succeed, but they never imagined he would actually pull it off!
They had originally thought it would be a huge accomplishment if Su Ze managed to obtain even a Tier Four A-Class extract from the Royal Hunting Ground. They never expected him to actually hunt a Tier Four S-Class beast!
After a long moment, Zhou Wenshan collected himself and said, feigning composure, "I see. As we agreed, one of the spots for the Divine Dice is yours."
Su Ze shook his head. "Mr. Zhou, that’s not the main reason I came to see you today. I was hoping to ask if it would be possible to arrange a spot in the Divine Dice for Mr. Ya as well?"
