I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO
Chapter 750 - 747: Fighting for Beauty (4)
Vera Wave glanced at the high platform wedge heels in his hands, then raised the corners of her lips in a smile.
The dress was floor-length, so the shoes wouldn’t be seen anyway. As long as they had heels and made her legs look longer, that was all that mattered.
She sat on the changing bench and extended her palm.
"Give me the shoes!"
Kris Cooper didn’t hand her the shoes, but instead bent down and placed the pair next to her feet. As she slid her feet into them, he moved to adjust the straps, then helped her to her feet.
"Can you handle it?"
"Don’t worry, I definitely can." She took several confident strides, returned to his side, and hooked her arm into his. "Let’s go!"
As they left the cloakroom, Cooper took her small hand and led her out towards the movie premiere.
Ever since "Flame" was first announced, it had been generating countless discussions.
Especially after Vera joined, it sparked countless more topics. Yet the one capturing everyone’s interest was not the leading actress, but Vera, the supporting character.
The fallen heiress, the last-minute supporting female, Ashton’s fiancée...
She had numerous labels associated with her. These, coupled with the previous case involving Liliana Davis, the gossip with Nathan Leafcastle, and the news of her wedding to Kris Cooper, only served to make the name Vera all the more eye-catching.
Journalists were eagerly awaiting outside the premiere.
A moment later, a black vintage car pulled up, and Logan Miles, the film’s leading man, and Irene Spencer, the leading lady, stepped out and walked the red carpet.
The journalists immediately swarmed towards them, taking photos. For such an important occasion, Irene had of course dressed to impress.
To fit the mood, she wore a white cheongsam embroidered with silver patterns, exuding a charm reminiscent of Old Vanora from head to toe.
With Logan Miles, dressed in a suit, at her side, she constantly looked back with an artful smile, striking various captivating poses for the photographers.
As camera flashes flickered, she naturally became the center of attention.
But her moment of fame didn’t last long.
"Here they come!" someone shouted.
The journalists who had been focusing on Irene immediately rushed to the bottom of the stairs.
Irene turned her face, looking towards the bottom of the stairs.
A black limousine pulled up; the assistant opened the door, and Kris Cooper was the first to get out. He then walked around the car, reaching out to hold the delicate arm extending from inside, helping Vera out of the car.
The girl was also in a full-length white gown, with a cheongsam collar and a modified fishtail skirt that slightly brushed the ground.
As the night breeze blew, the hem of her gown rippled like mist, lending her an ethereal aura.
In comparison, Irene’s cheongsam seemed a bit plain and lacking in elegance.
Up on the stairs, Irene gritted her teeth secretly.
Why couldn’t she just stay in jail where she belongs? What’s she doing out here, stealing my spotlight?!
"Shall we go and say hello?" Logan Miles suggested, and started walking down the stairs, heading towards Vera and Kris.
"Mr. Cooper, Miss Vera, long time no see!"
Reluctantly, Irene had no choice but to follow him down.
"Kris, Vera, long time no see!"
Kris nodded at them, and Vera smiled at Logan Miles.
"Long time no see."
"Why don’t we take a photo together?!" a journalist suggested.
"Sure, sure!" Irene actively moved closer, standing next to Vera, putting her right leg out to the cameras and leaning back slightly to make her face appear smaller than Vera’s in the photos.
Vera lifted her hand, seemingly to wave, but it perfectly covered Irene’s face.
Good night, my little princesses!
