"Why is the child crying!" Grandma Wave didn’t understand; she felt sentimental and just smiled while patting her back. "I’ve only been away for a few days, and you miss Grandma this much?"

Kris Cooper tenderly supported her shoulder, "Vera, Grandma must be tired from the long flight. Should we take her home first?"

"Okay." She lifted her face, took the handkerchief handed by the man, and wiped her eyes, revealing a smile. "Grandma, let’s go home!"

Tommy Taylor dragged the luggage, Kris Cooper and Vera Wave supported the elderly, and the four of them got in the car to return home.

Gazing out the car window at her familiar hometown, Grandma Wave was filled with emotion.

"Home is still the best. It’s not like America, where everyone has blond hair and blue eyes, and even the chefs make terrible Ebba food!"

"Grandma," Kris Cooper spoke with a smile, "Mrs. Feng is already preparing dinner for you. Tonight, it’s all dishes you love."

"This child is so considerate." Grandma Wave turned to study Kris Cooper. "I heard from young Chen that you and Vera are getting married. When is it?"

"Next month, in just over twenty days. Do you approve?"

"Approve, of course, I approve," Grandma Wave laughed and patted his shoulder. "Hurry up and get married, give Grandma a great-grandchild, then we can have four generations living together. It’s just that young Walter is never home; while I’m in America, he’s off to Europe, and we haven’t met at all!"

"If Dad’s busy, just let him be!" Kris Cooper swiftly changed the subject. "Grandma, let me tell you some good news; Vera is pregnant, and by early next year, you’ll be holding a great-grandchild!"

"Really?!" Grandma Wave turned to look at Vera, who nodded with a smile. Grandma’s eyes crinkled with joy. "Good...good!" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The car returned to the old house. As soon as it stopped, someone opened the door, and Mrs. Feng greeted them with a smile, followed by another person.

"Mrs. Li?!"

Vera Wave looked surprised as she watched Mrs. Li open the car door for her. "Why... why are you here?"

Mrs. Li smiled as she helped her down. "Mr. Cooper said the old lady would be coming home, and since I had no new work, I decided to come back and take care of the old lady again."

Mrs. Feng and Mrs. Li helped the elderly up the steps, and Vera Wave looked at Kris Cooper gratefully.

"Honey..."

"Moved enough to promise me anything right now?" Kris Cooper leaned in close to her ear. "Just take good care of your husband tonight!"

Her face turned red, and she playfully punched him.

"Wishful thinking!"

Then she joined them on the steps to catch up with Grandma Wave.

The driver brought the luggage inside, and Kris Cooper turned to Tommy Taylor.

"Thanks for this trip. Later, the driver will take you home to rest for two days."

"Okay." Tommy Taylor followed him, "I’ll go tell Mrs. Li about the medication."

Tommy Taylor spoke with Mrs. Li regarding Grandma Wave’s medicine, while Kris Cooper and Vera Wave helped the elderly to the backyard to enjoy her flowers and plants.

Thanks to the gardener’s care, the flowers and fish were thriving. One fish had died, but Kris Cooper had made sure to have it replaced. The elderly was satisfied as she counted her fish, smiling contentedly.

"Yes, not one is missing! Home is still the best... no matter how you live, it’s comfortable. Kendrick’s place is big with nice scenery, but it’s never really ours!"

Vera Wave held her arm, "Grandma, you’ll stay here permanently. We’re not going anywhere."
