I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO
Chapter 767 - 764: The Most Strikingly Elegant of All (Part 1)
Watching the two figures disappear at the entrance of the stairs, Nathan Leafcastle followed and went inside, taking the elevator to the bar on the top floor.
Scanning the surroundings, without seeing Kris Cooper, Nathan Leafcastle walked to a corner spot by the window and ordered two drinks.
Moments later, the waiter brought the drinks, and he took a pill from his pocket, placed it in the opposite glass, and gently stirred it.
Catching sight of Kris Cooper walking in, Nathan Leafcastle withdrew his arm and sat up straight again.
Turning his face to see him, Kris Cooper immediately stepped over.
He looked down, he lifted his face, the eyes of both men meeting in mid-air, flames flashing in their eyes.
Before Nathan Leafcastle could invite him to sit down, Kris Cooper had already walked over unceremoniously, sitting in the chair across from him.
Leaning lazily against the back of the chair, Kris Cooper raised his arms to rest on the sofa armrest, squinting his amber eyes slightly.
"Say what you need to quickly, I don’t have time to waste on you."
Nathan Leafcastle leaned slightly towards him.
"I know, did you do it?"
With a slight raise of his eyebrows, Kris Cooper shrugged.
"Finished talking?"
"Of course not!" Nathan Leafcastle sat back in place, reaching for the glass on the table and taking a sip, "This time, inviting you over is about another matter, regarding Vera."
Kris Cooper raised his right leg, crossing it over his left, showing an extremely impatient expression.
"Don’t beat around the bush, say it directly."
Out of curiosity about what he had to say, he bothered to deal with Nathan Leafcastle.
Nathan Leafcastle sneered, "You’re not worthy of her, it’s best to let go as soon as possible."
"Pfft!" Kris Cooper burst out laughing, leaning towards him, "The world has millions of oddities, but honestly, you’re the most refreshing and unconventional of them all!"
Nathan Leafcastle’s lips twitched as his fingers holding the glass tightened slightly.
Kris Cooper was still laughing, a smile that oozed pure provocation and disdain.
"Speaking of which, I really feel sorry for Miss Jian, meeting a man like you, it’s like eight lifetimes of bad luck. With scum like you, better not to harm anyone else!"
Straightening up, his palm skimmed the tabletop, casually flicking the glass on the table to his fingers.
Noticing this, Nathan Leafcastle forcefully suppressed the resentful energy in his heart.
"Now, I’m talking to you about Vera, it’s got nothing to do with Sally."
"Ha..." Kris Cooper had originally brought the glass to his lips, upon hearing this, burst into laughter, "Nathan Leafcastle, do you know what it means to be a b*tch wanting to set up a memorial?"
He held the glass, pointing a finger at him.
"You are a vivid example. Who is Vera? My wife. You’re like the landlord of the public square, taking too much upon yourself!"
Kris Cooper subdued his smile, with a bang set the glass down on top of another glass, bracing both hands on the table, leaning towards him.
"Do you know why I came? I came here just to tell you, if not for Vera, I would have already beaten you so bad your own mom wouldn’t recognize you!"
Nathan Leafcastle suddenly stood up.
"Don’t you dare mention my mom!"
With one shout, everyone in the bar looked over.
Across, Kris Cooper coldly sneered as he sat back down, one hand lightly shaking the glass in his hand.
"Honestly, with a mother like yours, even mentioning her dirties my mouth!"
Nathan Leafcastle’s eyes were already beginning to fill with blood, glaring across the table at Kris Cooper, he was like a maddened bull ready to charge.
