"What time is the meeting?"

"One-thirty."

Vera glanced at her watch, "Then you go eat quickly, I’ll go discuss the revisions for the proposal with them."

"Vera!" Kris Cooper put a hand on her shoulder, "I hope you... don’t attend this meeting."

This was a power struggle with Nathan Leafcastle, and he didn’t want her to get involved.

Vera understood he didn’t want her to face Nathan Leafcastle.

"I know him well, he’s always been meticulous. Now he surely knows I’m the one who made this proposal. If I don’t show up, he might get suspicious." Saying this, she turned to him with a smile and winked her right eye, "Come on, don’t forget, your wife’s part-time job is an actress!"
