I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO
Chapter 849 - 846: Counterattack (Part 3)
"I’ve received word that this project is a national key project. To ensure quality, the baseline price is set quite high. If their bid is below this baseline price, it will surely be eliminated."
So that’s it!
Vera nodded and after a moment continued to ask.
"But, how did they know our bid? Brother Nathan didn’t tell them, did he?"
Kris Cooper clicked the mouse a few times and pointed his chin at the screen.
Vera leaned in to look at the screen, which displayed a photo of a young man talking to Smith.
"This..." Vera looked at the young man wearing sunglasses, "That person looks really familiar."
"That’s Nathan Leafcastle’s assistant, Charlie Taylor." Kris Cooper sneered, "Sold out his master for two million, Nathan Leafcastle really lacks people’s loyalty!"
As he spoke, he looked up at Tommy Taylor.
"Tommy, how much do you need?"
Tommy held the steering wheel and chuckled, "At least one hundred million, right?! After all, this is going to land me in jail, and I have to prepare a way out for my wife, kids, and elders, don’t I?"
Selling out the commercial airport, that’s a crime!
Kris Cooper chuckled and after a moment, his expression turned cold.
"Prepare this afternoon to hand the data over to Michael Freenan. Once the bid results come out, it’ll be about time to take action."
"Okay," Tommy replied.
"Then... what are you going to do next?" Vera asked.
Kris Cooper leaned back in his chair, "This afternoon, I have to meet Bernardy Dalton."
...
...
Barker.
Nathan Leafcastle walked into the office with a frown and heavily sat down on the sofa.
"That Kris Cooper is really too much!"
"Actually..." Sally Dalton handed him a cup of water, "It’s clearly written in the cooperation agreement that Ashton has decision-making power; he originally has this right."
"Yes, true, he has the right, but what about respect? Has he respected us at all? Is this really cooperation?" Nathan Leafcastle asked angrily.
Sally Dalton shrugged, "Now, all we can hope for is that we smoothly secure the project and reduce costs wherever possible, while trying to gain some extra profit." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Kris Cooper did overstep a bit on this matter; they should have the right to be informed.
Assistant Charlie Taylor stood by silently.
Nathan Leafcastle sighed, "You all go out, I want to be alone for a while."
Sally Dalton glanced at his profile, frowned slightly, and turned to leave the room.
Because of the upcoming bid, she hadn’t mentioned her pregnancy to him, originally planning to discuss it after the bid, but now it seems this incident has come up instead.
Now, Nathan Leafcastle is clearly not in the mood, so she can only wait a little longer.
In the office, only Nathan Leafcastle was left.
He took a sip of water from the cup, reaching for the phone to dial Smith’s number.
"Kris Cooper suddenly adjusted the bid price, I’m worried... we might not be able to win this project."
"Mr. Leafcastle, don’t worry," Smith’s tone was calm, "If you don’t get this project, perhaps we can discuss another cooperation."
"Another cooperation?" Nathan Leafcastle frowned, "What do you mean?"
"Mr. Leafcastle, don’t forget that we’re also participating in the bidding. Maybe, we might win this project?" Smith chuckled, "Then we can continue to cooperate and work on the project together."
Nathan Leafcastle frowned, "What’s your bid?"
"10.3 billion!" Smith replied.
"What?" Nathan Leafcastle exclaimed, "10.3 billion, then how much profit can there be?"
