Chapter 13: The Healing Room

A few hours had passed since they arrived at the treatment center. For the first time since entering the ruined realm, Lian had been able to close his eyes without worrying about a sudden monster attack.

Of course, he was not really sleeping. His mind was too busy. The golden mountain and that Mountain God that no one had ever seen, which might be a powerful monster.

But the question was, how powerful? More powerful than the level 10 Fallen Wolf? If not, then there was no problem. Because with his and Seris’s power, they would be fine.

But if it was stronger than a level 10 Fallen Wolf, it could become a problem.

Then he got up and sat on the wooden bed. He looked at his wounds. Most of the cuts had closed. Even the bruises on his arms had mostly faded.

It was as if his body was recovering at an unnatural speed. Of course, for an Awakened, this was normal. Physical power includes recovery speed, senses, and even intelligence. And he had increased his physical power by 3 to 4 times.

So it was normal that his body’s healing speed had also increased.

At that moment, a groan came from the other beds. Lian turned his head. One of the twin girls had slowly opened her eyes.

It took a few seconds for her to understand where she was. Then her sister also woke up.

And a few moments later, Ryan also opened his eyes. He took a deep breath, as if he had just come out of a long nightmare.

Seris, who had been sitting on a chair by the window the whole time, just glanced at them.

"You finally woke up."

"I didn’t think I would still be alive." The more talkative girl gave a small smile.

"Me neither." Her sister also nodded.

"I think we all feel the same." Ryan also gave a tired smile.

A few moments of silence passed.

Then Aria’s gaze suddenly became serious. She looked toward Lian and Seris.

"By the way, thank you."

"If you hadn’t come, we would be dead by now. Thank you so much." Alisa also sighed and nodded. She thanked him too.

"I owe you as well." Ryan also raised his gaze.

Seris, without changing her expression, just nodded and fell silent again. Her behavior made everyone feel awkward for a few seconds.

"No problem. We were not far from dying ourselves." Lian smiled and tried to warm up the atmosphere again.

"At least we are alive now. And thank you too, Ryan!" The atmosphere in the room calmed down a little. Aria laughed.

"I didn’t do anything. Actually, I caused more trouble." Ryan smiled.

"I thought you were together from the beginning." Lian suddenly added.

"You mean me and my sister, or Ryan?"

"Ryan."

"No. When we woke up, only me and my sister were together. I don’t know why. Maybe we got lucky." Aria continued.

"Then we started moving and tried to figure out where we were. That’s when we found Ryan. Actually, he found us."

"Before we could figure out exactly where we were, what had happened, and get to know each other better, just a few minutes later, that monster appeared."

Remembering that scene, the faces of both sisters paled a little.

"That thing was nothing like the monsters we had read about in books."

"Ryan could have run away, but he didn’t. He stayed to save us." Aria looked at Ryan with gratitude.

Ryan said nothing. He looked embarrassed or awkward.

"So we have to thank you. If you weren’t there, we would have been killed before those two arrived."

"Well, I’m glad you survived. And it was my duty to do that." Ryan also sighed and nodded.

Lian looked at them carefully. There was no problem in their behavior or speech. Aria was talkative. Alisa seemed quieter and more introverted. Ryan seemed like a shy boy.

He did not get a bad feeling from them. He just did not know why he did not feel good when all three of them were present.

Lian decided not to push for now. Instead, he turned his gaze back to the two sisters.

"How old are you?"

"We just turned sixteen."

"Really? Haven’t you awakened yet? Or did you fail the awakening?"

"Our awakening ceremony was next week." Aria answered without hesitation.

Lian sighed. For these two girls, surviving in this ruined realm was even worse than for him a few hours ago, when he was not yet an Awakened.

At least he had a lot of information about ruined realms. But these two girls did not seem to know much. They did not have much information about ruined realms.

"All our lives, we were waiting for the awakening ceremony. Then exactly one week before it, we ended up here. I think we are the unluckiest people in the world." Aria sighed in frustration and puffed out her cheeks.

"Don’t worry. I am sure there are people more unlucky than you. In fact, right now as we speak, thousands of people who were summoned to this realm have already died." Lian tried to comfort them.

But his comfort was not very successful. It made the atmosphere suffocating and cold again.

For every human killed in the ruined realm, ten level 1 monsters can enter Earth. If an Awakened is killed, depending on their level, even more powerful monsters can enter Earth and cause killing and chaos. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Right now, as they spoke, thousands of portals might have opened all over their world, and monsters might be attacking.

But luckily, the guilds and governments were on alert. They should be able to prevent most of the casualties.

"I didn’t expect to be summoned here either. When I woke up, I was in the middle of the forest." Ryan stepped forward when he saw the atmosphere and tried to calm it again.

"At first I thought I was dreaming. Then I saw one of those bears."

"And you defeated it?" Lian asked with curiosity. The mammoth bears were not strong for him, but they were still notable monsters.

"There was only one. It was hard, but not impossible." Ryan shrugged.

"Then I sensed the presence of those two and went toward them."

And he stopped talking right there. Exactly as Lian expected. He gave no extra explanation. He said no personal information. He made no mention of his past. As if he had drawn an invisible border around himself.

Time passed slowly. The talk moved from monsters to different cities. To the awakening ceremony. To life before the ruined realm. To things they wanted to do if they got back alive.

Aria did most of the talking. In fact, 99 percent of the talking was done by her. Lian, Alisa, Seris, and Ryan spoke very little.

Except for Alisa and Seris, who really did not seem like talkative people. But Ryan seemed like he just preferred not to say anything about himself.

At that moment, a knock on the door was heard. Everyone fell silent.

The door opened. Mira, the same girl who had been taking care of them, entered the room. The young village girl had her usual smile on her face.

But this time, she seemed a little excited. Her gaze moved across the group.

"Luckily, you all look much better. Your wounds are healing well too."

"The village elder sent me."

Lian frowned slightly.

"For what?"

"He wants to see you." She kept her smile. Her gaze moved past Lian.

To Seris. To Ryan. And then to the twin sisters.

"He wants to see all five of you."
