I Can Extract Divine Power
Chapter 248 - 136: Appraisal, Copper Mirror
With the Buddha’s Light enveloped by his Vajra Dharma Aspect, Shen Bai felt a bit more at ease as he picked up the Copper Mirror.
’After all, this thing was left behind by the previous Temple Master, and it was described in such a mysterious way. There might be something more to it,’ Shen Bai thought. As he did, a wisp of Evil Qi inside him vanished.
With that in mind, Shen Bai used his Evil Qi.
...
As the Evil Qi vanished, the Copper Mirror began to change dramatically.
The cold, gloomy aura emanating from the Copper Mirror vanished completely, leaving behind what looked like an ordinary mirror.
As the mirror’s aura dissipated, a wisp of gracefully swirling smoke materialized before Shen Bai’s eyes.
Terrifying special effects swirled around Shen Bai.
He didn’t let his guard down. He focused his gaze on the smoke, wondering what new Divine Power this appraisal would grant him.
The smoke was mysterious and mystical, its true nature impossible to discern.
Despite the smoke’s appearance, Shen Bai didn’t sense anything out of the ordinary.
’Looks like the Golden Finger is still the Golden Finger. It won’t cause any strange problems,’ Shen Bai mused, stroking his chin.
With that, he focused his mind and watched as words began to take shape.
After a few breaths, the gracefully swirling smoke finally sharpened from a blur into focus, and a few lines of text appeared before his eyes.
[Appraisal successful. Divine Power acquired: Water Transformation Technique]
[Water Transformation Technique Level 1 (Water Attribute +1): 0/100]
The moment the smoke condensed into text, it exploded, transforming into streams of Information that poured into Shen Bai’s mind.
Shen Bai closed his eyes, carefully processing the Information in his mind. Once he had absorbed it all, he found himself once again in that mystical Space.
This time, the surrounding scenery had changed.
Shen Bai was no longer on solid ground. Instead, he stood upon a vast, boundless sea.
An illusory figure stood upon the surface of the sea, its hands clasped behind its back.
Countless shadows writhed in the depths below. Each one exuded a terrifyingly oppressive aura that made one’s breath catch.
As Shen Bai gazed at the illusory figure, it began to change.
The figure turned and plunged into the sea.
The surrounding water surged, its immense pressure suffocating. Yet the illusory figure, deep beneath the waves, moved like a nimble fish, completely unaffected.
At times, its movements were even smoother than on land.
The countless shadows writhed in the water before lunging toward the illusory figure.
The terrifying shadows were like beasts of the dark, opening their cavernous maws as if to devour the figure whole.
Just then, the figure raised its right hand slightly. With a simple beckoning gesture, a colossal wave rose at its command, engulfing all the surrounding shadows.
Once caught in the wave, the shadows with their eerie auras instantly dissolved into mist and vanished.
The waves protected the figure at their center, as if it were the sovereign of the entire ocean, and all creatures of the sea bowed at its feet.
"Three thousand transformations of water, King of Water."
A moment later, the scene faded away, and the illusory figure blurred along with it.
Shen Bai opened his eyes and let out a long breath. He stared at the dim yellow lamplight before him and thought, ’Why would the Copper Mirror grant a Divine Power like this?’
The so-called Water Transformation Technique was currently only at Level 1, so it only provided a single Attribute: Water Attribute.
This Attribute, true to its name, simply improved his proficiency in water.
But that was precisely what confused Shen Bai the most.
It wasn’t surprising that the Copper Mirror granted a Divine Power; it was a Deceitful Object, after all.
But the origin of this Deceitful Object was no small matter—it was connected to the Celestial Purity Daoist Temple.
A Daoist temple providing a Deceitful Object related to water... the two just didn’t seem to fit. It felt jarringly out of place.
Shen Bai stroked his chin and picked up the now-ordinary Copper Mirror again, examining it from all angles.
But his search yielded nothing.
It was just an ordinary copper mirror now. Once Shen Bai had mastered its Divine Power, it had become a mundane object with no secrets left to tell.
’To break the seal on the Celestial Purity Daoist Temple, I need to master the Copper Mirror. The mirror is related to water... so does that mean the temple’s seal is also related to water?’
’But Daoist Chongling said there was a special world inside the Copper Mirror. Where is it? Did I appraise it out of existence?’
Shen Bai fell into deep thought.
After a few moments of contemplation, he still had no answers.
There were too few clues, after all.
Shen Bai decided not to dwell on it for now. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The only lead he had was its connection to water. He decided he would find Daoist Chongling tomorrow and discuss it in detail to see if he could learn more.
With that in mind, Shen Bai looked at the new Divine Power. He planned to grind it until it underwent its first qualitative transformation.
Since the Water Transformation Technique was a new Divine Power, grinding it would be effortless, and his progress would be swift.
His previous Divine Powers had all reached the peak of Level 2 within a single night.
Shen Bai currently had ten wisps of Evil Qi. He could save them to grind his Mystic Heart Spell and push it to its second qualitative transformation, but it clearly wasn’t worth it.
Grinding a new Divine Power was much faster and would provide more Attributes.
As for the wisp of Evil Qi that would be "wasted" on the first transformation, that was nothing to worry about.
He could always get more Evil Qi just by finding and slaying some aberration.
’The night is still young, so I’ll start tonight.’ Having made up his mind, Shen Bai began to grind the Water Transformation Technique.
Shen Bai raised his right hand and beckoned lightly.
There was a kitchen in the house, and inside the kitchen stood a water vat.
