I Contracted All Ancient Divine Artifacts
Chapter 518 - 417: Abnormal Skeleton Riot
A few street loafers listened and felt as if they had been granted a great pardon.
The mechanical serpents slithered away, and they re-fastened their belts.
From the outside, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
"Truly impressive."
"This shows it’s not capability or talent that limits human progress, but imagination."
"The creativity behind these modified limbs is astonishing. Who came up with this idea?"
Han Zhan applauded, only to find Judith’s gaze fixed on him.
"Have you forgotten your own words?"
"Me?" Han Zhan pointed incredulously at himself.
Judith nodded, "Yes, the initial idea for this coiling serpent modification came from your inspiration."
Han Zhan: "..."
In moments like these, he could only manage an awkward yet polite smile.
"Let’s go, let’s see what’s ahead."
"There’s a restaurant with a good reputation, I can treat you to..."
Judith hadn’t finished speaking.
Suddenly, a gust of wind hit from behind.
She didn’t have time to turn and see what it was; she only heard Han Zhan’s voice.
"Watch out."
"Hold onto me."
Instinctively, Judith spread her arms, following Han Zhan’s command, and the next moment, a wave of invigorating masculinity enveloped her.
Judith felt a weightlessness as she was lifted and quickly set down.
Everything happened too fast.
Even faster than flooring the accelerator of a dual-purpose vehicle.
Feeling the arms that had wrapped around her waist release, Judith opened her eyes.
"What happened?"
Judith recollected herself, realizing she needed to find out what had occurred.
She saw three mechanical serpents that should have retracted into pockets, now thrashing in the air like wild beasts.
Beneath the mechanical serpents, the three shocked street loafers were still yelling.
"Sister Judith, I really didn’t mean to attack you! My buddies are out of control!"
"Sister Judith, your boyfriend is so amazing, please ask him to save us!"
"Sister Judith, I—ughh! Roar! Roar!"
Before the last loafer could finish his sentence, his own mechanical serpent suddenly reversed course and dived into his mouth!
This scene left Han Zhan dumbfounded.
Is this even possible?
It’s known that the heads of these mechanical serpents are customized based on the user’s preferences.
Some are shaped like maces, some like screw-tipped drills, and others are simple enlarged versions.
The third loafer’s modified limb was a mace-headed serpent, now fully invading his throat.
The mace’s spikes tore through his mouth and throat, blood pouring and gathering down his chin.
He looked truly miserable.
Before Han Zhan could react, the mechanical serpent had already delved deeper, completely blocking the loafer’s throat.
He widened his eyes and gripped his throat, thrashing like a drowning man, before finally going still.
Judith meanwhile contacted the Titan Guard Team via internal communication.
"It’s me, Judith. There’s an emergency limb mutation at my current coordinates on Tongming Street."
"Received, we will get there as soon as possible," came the quick response from the communicator.
After ending the call, Judith remembered Han Zhan was still standing beside her.
"Can you save them!" Judith pleaded with Han Zhan, knowing his capabilities.
Han Zhan glanced at the three wildly twisting mechanical serpents, nodding slightly.
In a flash, he vanished, reappearing beside the serpents.
His five fingers spread slightly, grasping the screw-tipped serpent’s head.
To be honest, it was a little unsettling.
Han Zhan suppressed his discomfort, opting for a swift resolution.
Six Great Ruins within him radiated light, all his spiritual power was mobilized instantly.
Concentrating in his right hand clenched over the serpent’s head, his entire palm began to glow softly.
Then, he exerted tremendous force!
With a thunderous crash, the several-meter-long mechanical serpent was pinned to the ground, immobile.
The impact caused the ground to crack in a web pattern from the point of contact.
Metal parts on the serpent shattered under the impact, scattering everywhere.
The clatter of falling parts was incessant.
Accompanied by a scream of agony.
"Ah!" The serpent’s owner, the street loafer, turned pale, managing only a wail before fainting.
This left Han Zhan somewhat puzzled.
I dealt with the serpent, so why are you also out cold?
"He must’ve got a synchro-sensation device installed, so he felt the pain," Judith said, her expression displeased.
She seemed to recall how the loafers waved the serpents around earlier, and if they had sensation devices, it meant...
"With just the synchro-sensation device, it shouldn’t hurt this much. He must’ve added sensation enhancers too."
Understanding the purpose of sensation enhancers was a given for Han Zhan.
Bunch of lunatics. Judith cursed silently, feeling no sympathy, just two words for them.
Serves you right!
While Judith was thinking, Han Zhan leapt again.
This time, he grabbed each mechanical serpent, colliding their heads like they were mere chicks.
After a fierce collision, more broken parts fell to the ground.
"Resolved." Han Zhan dusted off his hands, finding this barely even a warm-up given his current capabilities.
"Thank you!" Judith sincerely expressed, "The Titan Guard Team will soon handle the cleanup here."
Thanks to Han Zhan’s timely intervention, the damage from the runaway serpents to nearby shops remained minimal.
"But Titan City’s response time is rather slow, isn’t it?"
This wasn’t just Han Zhan’s gripe; since spotting the anomaly, at least two minutes had passed.
In Great Xia, the defensive mechanical units should’ve been dispatched by now.
Any later, and it would’ve been too late.
Only now the Titan Guard Team arrived fashionably late, understanding the situation from Judith, then began clearing the remains, including the loafer’s body.
Judith paid no mind to this, turning to Han Zhan: "How about you, still up for that meal?"
"You’re underestimating me." Han Zhan shrugged indifferently.
Judith’s smile returned, inviting him once more, "Then let’s head to the restaurant, chatting on the way."
