I Got Cheated On and Ended Up in A Beast World
Chapter 136 - 135: Ocean voyage
Without asking for anyone’s permission, she carefully reached into Lin Wan’s emotional matrix and toned down the " passion" dial, shifting her intense feelings into a state of fond, calm, and peaceful affection.
She had toned down Lin wan’s affection for Qin Mo and Long Zhan, not wanting her feelings for them to stand in the way of what should be done.
When the scan finished, Lin Wan opened her dark eyes and sat up. She stretched her arms, a bright, beautiful smile on her face.
She felt completely peaceful, happy, and light, not noticing a single thing was amiss within her own mind. She still loved her husbands deeply, but thar desperate, heavy weight of needing them to survive had completely lessened considerable.
It was actually the males who noticed the change almost instantly. When Qin Mo reached out to hold her hand, he noticed that her gaze was incredibly warm and sweet, but the deep, frantic attachment that used to make her eyes tremble when they spoke of the future was gone. She was calm, way too calm.
Qin Mo and Long Zhan exchanged a long, quiet look across the bed. Their hearts felt a sudden, sharp pang of sorrow, but neither of them said a single word to question it.
They couldn’t do anything about it anyway. After all, they knew deep down that whatever Weiwei was doing, she was doing it entirely for Wanwan’s sake, to protect her from breaking down when they finally walked out that door.
The next morning, the atmosphere in the courtyard was thick with unspoken emotions. The day had finally come.
Qin Mo stood by the wooden gate, his long, emerald robes flowing softly in the morning breeze. Next to him, Long Zhan stood tall, his massive shoulders tense and his jaw locked tight.
Both men looked at Lin Wan, their eyes filled with a deep, heavy sorrow that they were trying their best to suppress.
Driven by the terrifying warnings they had received from the system cat, they knew they could not afford to delay any longer.
They had to leave for their respective training, Qin Mo to the hidden, toxic world of the ancient Divine Teng Snake clan, and Long Zhan to the brutal, lightning-shattered core dragon trial grounds.
Qin Mo stepped forward first, his cold, aristocratic demeanor completely melting as he wrapped his arms around Lin Wan’s waist, pulling her tightly against his chest. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling her sweet scent one last time.
"Wanwan," Qin Mo whispered, his voice trembling slightly. "I am leaving now. I am going to find what I am looking for, the power to protect you from anything in this universe. I promise I will return to your side the very moment I get it. Do not forget me, okay?"
Long Zhan stepped up right after, his large, calloused hands gently cupping her face. His violet eyes were burning with a fierce, possessive fire, yet his touch was incredibly gentle. "Be good while we are gone, little female. Don’t go running into danger. I will train until my bones break if I have to, just to become strong enough to stand proudly next to you. I promise to return soon."
It was a heavy, deeply emotional farewell. Under normal circumstances, Lin Wan would have been sobbing hysterically, clutching their robes and begging them not to leave her behind in this strange realm.
But thanks to Weiwei’s silent adjustment the previous day, something was completely different.
As Lin Wan looked at her two handsome husbands, her heart felt incredibly warm and full of a fond, calm affection. She smiled softly, reaching up to pat Long Zhan’s cheek before turning to squeeze Qin Mo’s hand.
"I understand," Lin Wan said, her voice smooth and completely steady. "Both of you must be very careful during your trials. Don’t push yourselves too hard. I will stay right here, take care of the cubs, and wait for your safe return."
She handled the separation with absolute grace and calmness, rather than a heartbreaking, frantic panic.
Qin Mo and Long Zhan exchanged a quick, complicated look. While they were incredibly relieved that she wasn’t crying, a small, selfish part of their male pride felt a sudden, strange emptiness at how easily she was letting them go. Still, time was running out.
With one final, lingering look, both males turned around, transformed into two massive streaks of light, one emerald green and one blood red, and shot straight into the distant sky, disappearing past the clouds.
With the males gone, the vast estate instantly became incredibly quiet. But that quietness did not last for very long.
Inside the house, the triplets were growing more and more restless by the hour. Without their fathers around to discipline them or take them out to hunt, the boys had too much energy locked up in their small bodies.
They kept running around the living room, knocking over chairs, and flapping their small, developing wings.
"I want to fly!" Xiao Chen shouted, jumping off the top of the dining table and landing with a loud thud. "I want to see the giant mountains!"
"Me too!" Xiao Jue chimed in, his little tail smacking against the wall. "Mum, let’s go outside! The sky is so big, I want to see the whole world!"
Lin Wan sat on the sofa, rubbing her temples as she watched her three chaotic sons bounce off the walls. She loved them dearly, but dealing with three high-tier beast cubs alone was exhausting.
It was at this moment that Lanying stepped into the room, holding her own plump, quiet babies in her arms. She looked at the restless triplets and then turned her gaze toward Lin Wan.
"Wanwan," Lanying said, her voice calm and thoughtful. "The boys are growing too fast, and their bloodlines are demanding adventure. Keeping them locked up in this small house in the Middle Realm is only going to make them wilder. I think it is time I take them on a trip."
Lin Wan looked up, surprised. "A trip? To where?"
Lanying smiled softly, a look of deep nostalgia crossing her face. "To the vast ocean. You see, the waters of this world are not like the waters of the lower realm. There is a deep mystery to them. The ocean actually connects the Lower, Middle, and Upper Realms together through a network of ancient drift-currents."
Lin Wan’s eyes widened in wonder. "The ocean connects all the realms?"
"Yes," Lanying nodded, walking over to sit beside her. "It is a magical path. If you build a sturdy raft and simply drift afloat the water without any specific destination in your mind, the currents will guide you. When you open your eyes again, you will find yourself in a completely new realm. I originally came from one of those higher aquatic territories. My father—the triplets’ great-grandfather, still lives there. He is a very powerful elder, and he has been sending me messages, demanding to see his great-grandchildren."
"But... is it safe?" Lin Wan asked, looking at her three rowdy boys who had suddenly stopped running to listen to the conversation. "The ocean sounds dangerous."
Before Lanying could answer, a small black cat hopped onto Lin Wan’s lap. Weiwei flicked her tail, her golden eyes blinking reassuringly.
"Don’t worry, host," Weiwei’s voice echoed in Lin Wan’s mind. "Lanying knows the waterways perfectly, and her beast form is highly adapted for the deep ocean. More importantly, I have already placed a spatial tracking marker on all three triplets. If any real danger appears or if they ever miss you too much, I can instantly teleport them right back into the system space within a single second. They will be perfectly safe."
Hearing the system’s absolute guarantee, Lin Wan finally let out a sigh of relief. She looked at the triplets, whose eyes were completely shining with excitement at the thought of a grand ocean adventure.
"Alright," Lin Wan said, smiling as she ruffled Xiao Chen’s messy hair. "Go with your Grandma Lanying to see your great-grandfather. But you must promise to listen to her and be good boys, okay?"
"Yes, Mum!" the three boys shouted in unison, jumping up and down in pure joy.
The preparations were made quickly. Lanying packed up, gathered the excited triplets, and headed toward the coastal portal at the edge of the Middle Realm. Lin Wan stood at the door, waving goodbye until their figures completely disappeared down the mountain path.
When she turned around and walked back inside, she realized something profound. Her husbands were gone. Lanying was gone. The rowdy triplets were gone, and the two black eggs were safely locked away inside Weiwei’s high-tech incubator system.
For the first time in years, the house was completely, utterly empty. Lin Wan stood in the middle of the quiet living room, stretching her arms out wide as a sudden sense of total freedom washed over her. She was completely left with nothing to do.
