The second form of the Chaotic Heaven Shield, combined with the perfected state of the Golden Thousand Blades, lacked its previous decisive lethality. Against a Demon Fiend like the Rock Giant, which was stone inside and out, it had very little destructive power.

It had no Demon Blood to spill, felt no pain, and knew no fear. Driven solely by rage, it lunged at Gu Zheng.

Gu Zheng flew back, creating some distance.

Then, he activated his Eyes of Golden Flame and scanned the Rock Giant’s entire body.

But it was no use. The Rock Giant wasn’t hiding anything, and there was nothing unusual about its physique.

Its original form, its very essence, was stone!

Even the Eyes of Golden Flame couldn’t discern any weaknesses or find a vulnerable spot.

THUD THUD THUD!

The earth trembled as the Rock Giant gave chase, relentlessly pursuing Gu Zheng.

Three hundred and sixty blades shot out, blanketing the Rock Giant’s head.

Amid the screech of metal on rock, a shower of sparks and stone fragments sprayed into the air.

The Rock Giant only grew angrier.

Its low roar echoed between the sky and the ground.

A pair of massive stone arms swung and slammed down, compressing the air with a thunderous boom.

Gu Zheng flew in close and unleashed the Spear of the Soul, stabbing directly at the Rock Giant’s mind and spirit.

The Rock Giant roared in alarm and fury. Its massive body shuddered, shedding a large amount of dust.

The speed of its thick arms suddenly increased as it tried to swat Gu Zheng.

SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

Gu Zheng dodged and landed on a mountaintop.

’Even the Spear of the Soul’s destructive power is only moderately effective against the Rock Giant.’

’Looks like the Divine Weapon Fragment is my only option!’

"HRAAH!!"

The Rock Giant roared, its unique aura locking onto Gu Zheng as it broke into a trot to close the distance.

Though it was only trotting, each step covered dozens of meters. In just a few strides, it was right in front of the mountain where Gu Zheng stood.

Its raised arm, wreathed in a terrifying gale, smashed down toward Gu Zheng.

Gu Zheng took out the Divine Weapon Fragment, aimed it at the Rock Giant’s head, enveloped it with Divine Wondrous, and shot it out like lightning.

With that strange, piercing sound, the rocky body—which blades couldn’t even scratch from the outside—was torn open by the Divine Weapon Fragment, and a hole swiftly appeared.

The Divine Weapon Fragment passed straight through, entering between its eyebrows, piercing its brain, and exiting the back of its head.

"HRAAH!!"

The Rock Giant roared in alarm and fury, its voice growing heavier.

Its flailing arm slammed into the mountaintop, shattering the peak and sending countless rock shards flying.

As dust billowed and debris shot everywhere, a pair of scarlet eyes appeared on the Rock Giant’s indistinct face.

The crimson lights seemed to speak, locking onto the dodging Gu Zheng with a deathly gaze.

"You..."

SWOOSH!

The Divine Weapon Fragment tore through the air again, shooting toward one of the newly revealed scarlet eyes.

It was so fast that by the time the Rock Giant noticed it, one of its eyes had already been pierced.

"ROAR!!"

In that instant, the Rock Giant let out a pained roar.

Its massive body staggered backward. THUD, THUD, THUD—each step left a deep crater in the ground.

SWOOSH!

A cold glint flashed through the air. The Divine Weapon Fragment banked, flew back, and shot toward the Rock Giant’s other scarlet eye.

PFFT!!

The Rock Giant roared in agony again, its two thick arms flailing wildly. It smashed nearby peaks, pulverizing trees and summits, sending another massive cloud of debris and dust into the air.

With both eyes pierced, the Rock Giant, in its agony, finally realized something was wrong and tried to flee.

It turned and began to trot away, its steps creating a series of muffled thuds. THUD, THUD, THUD.

"Too late to run now!"

Gu Zheng shouted, his Divine Wondrous surging as he controlled the Divine Weapon Fragment to give chase.

First, with a whistling sound, it pierced the Rock Giant’s left knee. CRACK! With that sharp sound, the stone at its knee shattered. The trotting giant immediately faltered, knelt, and then pitched forward.

Its body was so immense and heavy that when it hit the ground, it was like a mountain collapsing. A deafening RUMBLE echoed as dust and shockwaves rolled out like a tidal wave.

SWOOSH!

SWOOSH!

The light danced as the sound of tearing wind continued unabated.

Wrapped in Divine Wondrous, the Divine Weapon Fragment unleashed a barrage of swift strikes, piercing through the Rock Giant’s head again and again.

PFFT! PFFT! PFFT!

Amid the rapid sequence of soft piercing sounds, the Rock Giant’s entire head was disintegrated, crumbling into palm-sized fragments that scattered across the ground.

’But the Giant’s Heart is nowhere to be found.’

As long as the Giant’s Heart was intact, the Rock Giant could not die.

Even without a head, it continued to wave its arms, its body trembling as if roaring while it slapped at its surroundings.

The shattered stone of its pierced knee regenerated in an instant, supporting its massive frame as it stood up to run again.

With a deafening blast, the Divine Weapon Fragment once again tore through its knee, ripping it apart and leaving a huge hole.

CRASH!

The Rock Giant, just about to start running, crashed to the ground once more.

PFFT! PFFT! PFFT!

Without pausing, Gu Zheng controlled the Divine Weapon Fragment, continuing to shoot it rapidly through the Rock Giant’s neck.

Then came the shoulders, chest, abdomen, waist...

He worked his way down, through its arms, its thick thighs, and finally, its broad feet.

He pierced and shattered every single part.

...until he disintegrated the sole of one of its feet into a pile of rubble.

CLINK.

A fist-sized, tri-colored gem suddenly fell to the ground with a faint sound.

The red, blue, and white lights on the gem’s surface swirled together, pulsing like a breath. The entire gem trembled as if in fear.

The Giant’s Heart!

’Finally found it.’

A flash of joy crossed Gu Zheng’s eyes as he reached out to pick it up.

BZZZZ!

Suddenly, the void trembled. An invisible power erupted, surging from all directions to converge around Gu Zheng.
