I Have a Modern Weapon Gacha System in the Zombie Apocalypse
Chapter 122: The Zombies Are Coming!
Meanwhile, at Forbes Park Makati. Two guards were on the makeshift watchtower of the eastern quadrant of the gated subdivision.
Their task was to make sure that there’d be no zombies heading towards their base. Equipped with an M4 Carbine, it was more than enough to take care of a number of zombies.
"So, what do you think of today’s haul?" said the guard 1.
"Well, they said they were pushed back by a lot of zombies while raiding the Ayala Malls. Five of our guys got killed, eight were executed due to failure," the guard 2 replied.
"I see, that’s bad. That fucking Mayor keeps sending us to an impossible task and get killed if you failed. I swear that Mayor is a fucking lunatic," the first guard muttered.
The second guard didn’t answer right away.
He kept his eyes on the road beyond the wall, scanning the dark stretch of asphalt where nothing usually moved at this hour.
"...Keep your voice down," he said after a second. "You know what happens if someone hears you."
The first guard scoffed but didn’t push it further.
"Yeah, I know," he said. "But I’m not going down without a fight. If they fucking try to kill me, I’ll bring some of them with me."
Silence followed after that.
Only the faint hum of the generator somewhere inside the compound filled the air, along with the distant crackle of fire from abandoned structures outside the walls.
The second guard adjusted his grip on the rifle and leaned slightly against the wooden frame of the watchtower.
Then, something sounded from the distance.
"Did you hear that?" the second guard said.
"What do you mean? I hear nothing," the guard one replied, tilting his head to the side as he looked to where the second guard was looking.
"Dude, it’s just darkness over there, you must be hearing things. You know the thing when you are in a quiet place where your ears keep ringing..."
"No," the second guard said. "That’s not it."
He raised his hand slightly.
"Shut up for a second."
Then there it was again. A faint sound, like shuffling sounds and there’s too many of them.
The second guard’s grip tightened on his rifle.
"You hear that now?" he said.
The first guard didn’t answer right away.
His eyes stayed fixed on the road.
"Yeah," he said slowly. "I hear it."
They both leaned forward slightly, trying to see past the darkness beyond the outer wall.
The first guard frowned but went quiet.
Both of them listened.
Nothing at first. It was just black.
Then, there was a movement.
Small shapes. They don’t know what it could be as it is too far to make out clearly. However, there’s only one thing out there.
"Zombies..." the guard said.
And as if on cue, the zombies ran towards Forbes Park at full speed, growling and snarling at them.
"Shit! There’s a lot of them!" the second guard raised his M4 Carbine and began firing at the nearest ones at full-auto.
The sound of the M4 Carbine rattling alerted the Forbes Park security, who looked towards the direction of the sound. Meanwhile, in a luxurious mansion, a man in his thirties, fairly handsome, wearing a formal barong suit was enjoying himself getting a head from a beautiful lady.
It was then interrupted by his personal security who burst through the door.
"Mayor, there’s zombies."
The girl who was about to turn to look was grabbed by the back of her head by the Mayor, forcing her down, choking her with his shaft.
"What is it Jayson? You know that I’m in the middle of something."
"Uhm yes Mayor but there are zombies, a lot of them," Jayson replied.
"So? What do you want me to do? Go out and shoot them? That’s your job Jayson so fucking go deal with it." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"No sir, I literally mean that there are too many of them," Jayson said with a steady voice.
The Mayor finally paused.
Not because he cared.
But because of the tone.
He looked down for a second, annoyed, then shoved the girl away from him.
"Then say it properly," he said, adjusting himself and standing up. "How many is too many?"
Jayson hesitated.
Then answered.
"...Sir, it’s not a normal horde."
The Mayor frowned.
"What does that even mean?"
"They’re organized," Jayson said. "They’re moving in one direction. And they’re already hitting the eastern wall."
That made the Mayor stop.
Just for a second.
Then he scoffed.
"Organized?" he said. "They’re fucking zombies, not soldiers."
Another burst of gunfire echoed from outside.
"Sir... the towers are already engaging," he said. "And they’re calling for reinforcements."
The Mayor walked toward the window, pulling the curtain aside just enough to look out.
From his angle, he couldn’t see the wall.
But he could hear it.
Gunfire.
Shouting.
"Jayson, send everyone to the eastern quadrant. If it fails, prepare the vehicle, we are going to leave."
"But what about the civilians sir?" Jayson asked.
"I don’t care about them, Jayson. They should fucking die for me as I have saved them during the outbreak," the Mayor finished flatly.
"Very well sir, I’ll make it ready for you."
With that, Jayson left to carry out his orders. Meanwhile, Jayson turned to the woman he’s enjoying with. She’s a pretty specimen, a top-model from the pre-outbreak world now at his mercy. There are too many women in this compound that are top-tier in terms of looks.
"You, we aren’t done yet."
"Please sir...I’m begging you...I’m tired, I can’t move anymore."
"Is it because my dick is so large that you can’t move? I don’t fucking care, crawl if you have to. You will satisfy me until I finish. If you don’t do it, I’ll just have to throw you to the zombies attacking us right now. Your choice."
A chill ran down the woman’s spine, the thought of it made her body freeze.
She didn’t argue anymore as she couldn’t. She has to obey him or else she’ll die.
Her hands trembled as she slowly moved, dragging herself back toward him, fear written all over her face.
She wants it to end.
