The Bloodcloud Venerable started recounting the story from back then, and Zhang Menglong found it quite intriguing.

Actually, the entire Ancient Cave Heaven housed nearly 30 superpowers, among which eighteen have evolved into the superpowers we know today.

Initially, there wasn’t much conflict or contradiction among everyone. Surviving was the primary focus, so some ancient mighty figures opened up this space, forming small groups and seeking ways to break through the constraints of life levels.

Though these superpowers formed, humans gained the upper hand in the survival struggle, and gradually, the survival tribes and groups evolved into superpowers. In their prolonged battle to transcend life levels and survive against Warcraft, they developed their own Martial Artist System.

Later, human evolution stagnated, and many martial artists reached the limit of the Dao Realm. To find the end of life levels, they conducted various research, among them the Bloodcloud Venerable.

He was actually one of the founders of a superpower at that time. After countless millennia of trials, he modified his cultivation technique and created the Blood Demon.

Blood Demons are extremely aggressive, especially the initial batch of primitive Blood Demons who fear no sunlight and possess tremendous regenerative ability. The blood they consume can be transformed into something called the Blood Pill, and those who cultivate specific techniques can swallow this Blood Pill to accelerate cultivation as though they took a Level-Up Pill.

Initially, the Bloodcloud Venerable didn’t have such ambitions, merely setting the Blood Demons to attack Warcraft and other creatures in the Ancient Cave Heaven. During this process, the first batch of Blood Demons mutated into monsters known as Night Demons.

Night Demons lurked during the day and emerged at night, more brutal and uncontrollable than Blood Demons, with some breaking free from the Bloodcloud Venerable’s control to attack humans.

It was then that the Bloodcloud Venerable discovered that Blood Pills condensed from human blood essence were even more potent! Not only can they aid cultivation, but they can also help break through the barriers at the end of life levels!

From then onwards, the Bloodcloud Venerable released Blood Demons and Night Demons to attack humans unstoppably. At first, it was just the ordinary people in Ancient Cave Heaven who didn’t belong to any organization or faction, weak and unnoticed even if a large batch died.

Later, the Blood Demons and Night Demons gradually targeted many people, eventually alerting others from the superpowers.

There was a serious conversation among everyone, hoping the Bloodcloud Venerable would abandon this inhumane method. They asserted there were many other ways to cultivate and break through without sacrificing lives.

But by then, the Bloodcloud Venerable was already obsessively deranged, deaf to others’ advice, even brainwashing others to believe it was a great deed, accusing non-supporters of jealousy over his discovery.

In his view, creating a great life using countless small lives was worthwhile. It was the glory of those small lives.

The conversation ended unpleasantly. The Bloodcloud Venerable carried on recklessly, and many offspring of superpowers fell victim to Blood Demons and Night Demons. The Bloodcloud Venerable gradually became a figure akin to the Demon Cult in people’s mouths, and twenty-some factions stood against him.

But the Bloodcloud Venerable, after years of accumulation, reached a level unattainable by others. No single faction could stand against them alone, especially the Blood Demons he created, with some even possessing power comparable to the Peak of Dao Realm, proving quite tricky.

Under such circumstances, many chose to flee Ancient Cave Heaven, for continuing to live there might someday make them fodder for Blood Demons.

After discussion, the heads of some superpowers reached an agreement to band together against the Bloodcloud Venerable. If he refused to stop, they would have to resort to force. No matter how formidable, he couldn’t possibly fight over twenty of them alone, right?

But they erred. After absorbing so much power, the Bloodcloud Venerable’s strength far surpassed its former self, and even two dozen superpower giants couldn’t match him!

Of course, when cornered, even a dog will leap the wall, and these mighty figures weren’t mere fodder. They sacrificed themselves and, after an epochal battle, finally took down Bloodcloud Venerable, suppressing his remains here, leaving him with only a Soul Body.

But they hadn’t anticipated that their efforts were not entirely without result but didn’t achieve great efficacy.

Though the Bloodcloud Venerable was extremely weak with only a Soul Body, he still had a lot of Blood Demons! That battle saw many Blood Demons perish, but many weaker ones survived, continuing to attack at will to extract energy.

The process is slow, but given ample time, he could potentially recover again someday.

However, due to the demise of superpower founders and key figures, the Ancient Cave Heaven underwent drastic changes shortly after.

Some factions fought relentlessly for leadership, while others focused on dealing with the runaway Night Demons, leading to unavoidable decline.

Due to leaders’ disappearance, some factions lost their treasured relics, others severed top-level cultivation techniques lineage, and Sword God Manor was a typical example.

Eventually, superpower survivors took incomplete legacies and left Ancient Cave Heaven, and remain so today.

Without consuming humans’ essence blood, Blood Demons had to attack low-level Warcraft, achieving minimal effect, but he had no other alternative. Bit by bit, there was still hope.

To minimize energy loss, he remained weak, using vast blood energy to refine a Blood Pill. On the day it takes shape, not only is it his rebirth day, but the day he breaks life’s limits!

This time, during the superpower disciple assessment, saw a surge of young talents, mostly well-endowed physically. Using them to refine the Blood Pill could rapidly advance progress.

Hence, the Bloodcloud Venerable deployed all Blood Demons and Night Demons to hunt the young talents everywhere, creating an opportunity for Zhang Menglong to infiltrate.

"So, all the superpower heads are still here with you?" Zhang Menglong asked.

"They wish to kill me; it’s not so easy," the Bloodcloud Venerable said. "I drained my cultivation and life force to empty this region’s energy, rendering it a void of energy; they can’t escape and will slowly perish here."

"Wow, that’s ruthless!" Zhang Menglong was amazed by such means. According to energy conservation, they needed energy for life activity, and in this region, any released energy got transferred without replenishment, eventually leading to death.
