Note: This Class will have an unknown effect on your race.]

No, this didn’t just look ominous; it was much worse...

Night got goosebumps, wondering, Was this the Class the System would have given me at Level 10?

Isn’t this the kind of power-up an MC usually gets after a tragedy at the end of volume one? Night started to sweat despite the temperature being cool.

For some reason, he got this weird feeling that this was the Class he was supposed to awaken and that something weird was going on here.

Something had changed... He didn’t quite get what had changed... but something within was telling him that someone had messed with him so that he wouldn’t pick this Class and picking this Class would somehow fix it.

This gut feeling intensified practically screaming that this was the Class he should choose.

No, how can that be?

This Class was clearly the type that would cause him to lose his friends. Then why would I pick it? Or, more importantly, what was it inside him that was telling him to select this Class?

Also his [Beast Instinct] was weirdly calm not giving any reaction or warning at all.

He was brought out of his thoughts by two soft hands gently shaking his shoulders. Looking up, he saw Sara’s worried face and he could also see Blade looking around him, trying to find something unseen.

Ignoring Blade’s peculiar act, he looked at Sara who asked him, "What happened? It’s okay if you didn’t get the Class you want. While a Class is important, there are other ways to grow stronger."

Night replied, "No, I got the Class I want."

Sara then asked in confusion, "Then why do you look like you’ve lost everything?"

Did I react that badly? Night thought.

But it was only then he realized he was covered in sweat from head to toe and he had also been completely ignoring the worried feelings his friends in the Domain were frantically sending him.

Night said with a strained smile, "I don’t know what just happened."

Just then Eve, Lilith, Lucy, and Death appeared around him from dark swerling portals.

Blade looked at them and asked, "Did you pick the Summoner Class? But how do you have four summons already?"

Somehow, she just knew they were his summons.

Night shook his head, indicating he hadn’t actually selected a Class yet but he didn’t explain why he already had four of them. As Sara relaxed her grip on his shoulder, he sat down heavily on the floor.

Seeing this, Lucy asked, "What happened? We felt like you were suddenly being influenced by something, but at the same time, something seemed to be stopping it."

Blade looked like she was starting to understand the situation but kept quiet to confirm her suspicions. She even ignored the fact that he had summons despite not having a Class, which was supposed to be completely impossible for humans.

Night then shared the details about the first Class, its impossible 101% affinity and the weird feeling he had gotten upon seeing it.

Lucy was quiet; she didn’t know much about Classes since beasts got their strength directly from their bloodlines. Her situation was similar to Blade’s, but Blade was quiet for an entirely different reason.

Eve, Lilith, and Death were as clueless as him. While Death had possessed a Class when she was alive, she had awakened it naturally with the System and didn’t get to explore it or more accurately, she was killed far too soon after that.

Sara, the most knowledgeable in this regard, faced a question that was entirely outside her syllabus. She was quiet as well deep in thought as she considered various possibilities.

Giving up on getting any immediate answers, Night checked the next Class.

[Summoner (100%)

A path of a summoner not walked alone, but alongside its trusted Summons. This Class will grant you skills that will help you enhance your summons and also grow stronger with them.

With 100% affinity, you have the potential to reach 100% Synchronicity thus achieving a perfect Union with your Summons. Becoming one person.

______ said, "If the ultimate was achieved alone, eternal beings would be as many as ants. It is because it cannot be reached in lonesome; no one has even scratched the surface of the realm, making it forever a great mystery."

Note: You will only receive the skill to summon your first summon at Level 11. ]

Night heaved a massive sigh of relief, thinking this is how a Class is supposed to be.

He shared this with everyone. His friends were thrilled with the Class while Sara guessed this was the one he had originally wanted. But there was something she noticed.

"The Summoner Class is very common, especially since the Nightmare Aspect seems to work so well with it. And since everyone has the Nightmare Aspect, it is a frequent choice," Sara explained. "This Class is popular among commoners, so all information about it is thoroughly recorded. But I have never heard of anyone receiving that conversation snippet before."

"It seems completely unique to you. Even your first choice of Class had one. Both of them have the word ’Eternal’ in common."

Night asked with hope, "What does the word ’Eternal’ represent?"

Sara shrugged. "I don’t know. I know gods exist and if one walks the path of evolution far enough, it is possible to become one. But ’Eternal’? This is the first time I’ve ever heard of it."

Night guessed, "Maybe it means God? Maybe the word ’Eternal’ was used by some ancient civilization instead of the word ’God’?"

Out of sheer curiosity, Night then checked the other three Classes, despite having already firmly decided on his choice.

[Lord of Nightmare (95%)

Nightmare is the scariest thing a being fears, while the Lord of Nightmare is the scariest being the world has. To become such that just the thought of beating you is unfathomable in everyone’s mind, you become The Lord of Nightmare.

______ looked at the Shattered Reality and said mercilessly, "....let the Nightmare begin."

Restriction: This Class will restrict you to only possess the Nightmare Aspect.]

[Silent Bloodthirsty Assassin (75%)

The Silent Bloodthirsty Assassin dreams of becoming the deadliest assassin to walk the worlds. A path filled with blood, tears, betrayal, and hatred is the best way for a Bloodthirsty being to grow.

______ stood in the void, looking at the small knife in its hand, chuckled and said, "These days you cannot even trust the dead. Destroying their existence is the only good way to shut their mouths for good..."

Warning: Will have unknown side effects on your destiny.]

[Humanity’s Last Hope (1%)

At the verge of destruction, the planet Earth made one last attempt and chose a child who was human but not human to save itself. But destiny had other plans.

______ looked at the space dust quietly.

Note: This Class will change your race from Homunculus (Artificial Human) to Human.]

He shared the details of the other three Classes as well. It was obvious that the conversation snippets in each Class seemed to be somehow related to him, but they didn’t know exactly how.

Also, the last Class was something that rang massive alarm bells for all of them, as it seemed to clearly indicate the impending doom of their planet.

Night outright ignored the other three Classes, as each of them looked like giant red flags, especially the Silent Bloodthirsty Assassin. It straight up promised a path filled with betrayal; talk about being plagued with bad luck.

It was easy to guess what those "unknown side effects" on his destiny would be. Maybe that kind of destiny might make him very, very strong in the future, but at what cost? and the Lord of Nighmare looked like it would make him everyone’s target for no good reason.

"So, are you selecting the Summoner Class?" Sara guessed. "The first one seems incredibly strong, but there is a distinct possibility of you losing your summons. While the others are good too... in fact, they are too good. The System clearly thinks you have massive potential."

Looking directly at his summons, she spoke seriously. "But know this: the Summoner Class might make it so that your strength is forever dependent on your summons rather than yourself..."

Night looked at each of his companions.

Lucy showed fierce determination

(ง •̀_•́)ง

Eve and Lilith looked like they had just designed a grand master plan.

(≖‿≖)✧

While the blue flames in Death’s sockets seemed to burn with absolute fervor.

(🔥口🔥)

All of them were showing him that he could completely depend on them.

He looked at Sara and she looked like she wanted him to choose whatever he truly liked.

She didn’t even try to pressure him into considering the Humanity’s Last Hope Class, even though its description seemed of paramount importance likely dismissing it because of its abysmal 1% affinity.

He then looked at Blade.

She had her eyes closed, silently indicating that this was entirely his choice.

While she thought the Classes were interesting, she was much more interested in something else entirely and she had been focusing on it this whole time.

Of course, she paid just enough attention to not miss the conversation but otherwise she was fully occupied with whatever anomaly she was sensing.

She still opened her eyes and nodded, indicating she fully supported his decision before closing them again.

Seeing everyone fine with his decision, he made his choice.
