Chapter 1976: The Journey Starts

"This place is like a big neutral area for all forces from our universe. It’s totally safe, yet quite competitive. The moment you arrive there, you’ll get tested many times, and you’ll need to fight every single time.

Ah, forgot to tell you, once we are there, our ships will stop flying and lose their function. So we’ll need to store them before others try their luck and steal them."

"Steal it?!!" Hye was surprised, "Don’t you have a good reputation there or what?!!"

"Ah, it’s not about reputation," Moth corrected, "it’s a wild west land out there. If anyone can claim an arm from you, they’ll not hesitate to do it, regardless of what force or race you belong to. Out there, our strong presence here held little value. Only real strength and achievements speak louder than anything else."

Hye nodded in understanding. He already heard something like that from Major, but he took it as the latter came from a weak race and kingdom. He never expected the same thing to happen for the mighty Hescos as well.

"If it’s like that out there, then it’s going to be fun," like how Moth expected, Hye wasn’t afraid of any of what he said. If any, the human grew far more interested in going there and trying his luck.

From what he knew about Hye, he was a grandmaster in this game. And being there, with such a lawless environment, was like a shark returning to the big ocean.

The two spoke a little before Hye left. He returned to his flagship, relayed everything he learned from Moth to everyone. He wanted to bring Major with him, yet the latter was still busy taking over his kingdom.

Even after all this time, Major had to fight hard against lots of resistance. The situation there wasn’t exactly as he had learned from his Elder friend. In fact, his kingdom fell prey to a stronger kingdom nearby. And that led Major to fight against two kingdoms at the same time.

If not for Hye’s help and backing, Major held no chance at all to crush the two. Yet the good news was that he would end up taking two kingdoms at one go. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

The hostile kingdom was very deeply involved in Major’s kingdom’s affairs, to the extent that they considered it an affiliated force to theirs. So when Major appeared and tried to take over the leadership of his people, the other kingdom intervened heavily, deploying most of their forces to crush him.

Major said it to Hye, if he won against their combined forces, then the other kingdom would be left almost defenceless. He could use the chance and jump at their necks, take over their ruling seat, merging the two kingdoms together.

Hye loved how the situation escalated back there. If not for his urgent need to visit the Outer Battlefield and let his forces upgrade themselves, get lots of riches in the expedition, and explore the unknown turf that he had heard about for a long time, he would have preferred to join Major in his war and help with everything he could provide.

Yet the help he gave to Major wasn’t simple, wasn’t small. The latter was able to contend against two kingdoms at the same time, a testimony on how Hye’s forces and the overall kingdom’s might grew in the recent months.

A great part of this belonged to the recent contributions of the Research Department led by old Gan. The old man wasn’t slow; with the recent expansion of lots of races, he found lots of gems in there and underwent a huge expansion of his department.

The fruits of that move appeared after Hye returned with God Ore rocks. The department studied the bombs that the Hescos hastily developed based on Hye’s recommendations and instructions, ending up further enhancing them.

On top of that, the department developed new types of war cannons, ones that could harness the deadly power inside the ores and unleash deadly attacks that could annihilate lots of forces in mere minutes.

The additions expanded to enhancing the armour of the ships, adding new weapon systems, and developing new defensive measures. All these benefits came from small amounts of work from the department, over what Hye brought with him from his Hescos expedition. And that made Hye place high hopes on the future of that department.

The help from the Research Department didn’t stop just at Major’s side. Hye’s expedition forces enjoyed lots of benefits and upgrades as well. Right now, the level and strength of many ships were on par with the great forces’ strengths and level. And Hye even suspected his side would come on top thanks to his other universe ships.

"Let’s go," once he relayed the new information and his generals arranged their fleet per Moth’s advice, he gave the order, and the grand fleet moved following the Hescos.

Moth advised to rearrange the grand fleets into smaller ones, moving in many groups with a small number of ships in each. To not miss the route, they should all be connected to the same network, where the Hescos shared an updated map of the path and area around, to not let any ship be lost.

The grand force moved in unison. Starting closer to the universe’s borders, they just needed a few hours to cross the boundary. Once there, Hye spotted what Moth was speaking about.

The path was indeed massive, yet it kept twisting right and left, showing branched paths that appeared for a few minutes then vanished at once. These were the dead paths that would appear all the time to confuse the travellers. And for a reason Hye couldn’t grasp, Moth and the Hescos always picked the right path every single time.

At some point, Hye grew curious about the paths that kept appearing and disappearing. So he took out a small ship, filled it with a few of his low-level warriors, then sent it in one of those paths. He put a camera feed on their ship, waiting to see what would lie at the other end of that path.
