Chapter 1987: Hye’s Response to the Toranks’ Scheme

Moth couldn’t get what made Hye this calm and collected. And yet he slowly nodded, but said nothing.

"It’s settled then," Hye shrugged, as if this wasn’t something scary and terrifying, "we’ll need to strengthen our forces and expand our dominance during this period."

"We?!!" Moth was speechless, then shocked, "Are you implying that..."

It was Hye’s turn to grow serious.

"It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance, pal." he paused, letting his next words sink deeper into the Hescos’ mind and soul. "No matter how you look at it, the situation is both quite dangerous and advantageous for both of us. If you don’t want to join, then fine. But don’t come later and cry for missing out on this chance."

"Chance? Advantageous?! Are you out of your goddamn mind?!!"

Moth was in disbelief, even leaned to rage when he felt how Hye took things lightly, even became delusional about the entire situation.

"Indeed," Hye didn’t mind the fit of rage, "after all, we are the ones holding the strongest forces in the entirety of the Outer Battlefield now. If the Toranks are aiming to gather the defeated forces together, then we shall do the same. But we won’t gather any defeated forces; we’ll aim towards the other forces established here."

Hye’s expression turned icily cold as he added in a serious tone:

"If they didn’t want to join, we’ll simply crush them and take over their bases. If they willingly wanted to join, then we’ll support them with the chance they never dreamt of."

"..."

Moth couldn’t tell if the shock caused Hye to lose his mind or if the human was going to pull another miraculous feat once more. And yet, he listened and didn’t object anymore.

"The chance to rule over the Outer Battlefield for generations to come isn’t a simple feat, isn’t something a normal force can dream of. And yet, we’ll present them this chance, forming the ruling circle of the Outer Battlefield. As for those trying to oppose a resistance, just tell me where they are, and I’ll make sure to annihilate them once and for all."

"You are crazy!"

After long minutes of silence, during which Moth deeply thought about what Hye proposed, he finally spoke.

"Yet I like that plan. Victory favours the brave, as the saying goes."

Hye’s smile grew wider when he heard these words. In fact, his plan wouldn’t have that high a chance if the Hescos hadn’t joined hands with him.

After all, they were the strongest race in the entire universe, and they had lived in the Outer Battlefield for so long. Their presence, name, and fame were quite valuable assets to Hye, and he knew that without them on his side, things would have been quite difficult.

"Then we need to start moving now." Hye looked at Olana, and the latter was prepared. She unfolded a big map of the Outer Battlefield under their universe’s control. It was a combination of lots of maps and other instructions Moth gave to Hye previously when he went to conquer the different bases.

And now the map was useful, but it lacked lots of vital information.

"This is a map I made using the different maps you gave me," Hye explained, "but I don’t know where different forces’ bases are, which are acting hostile to us, and which we shall get in contact with."

Moth moved his eyes between the map, Hye, and Olana. He had earlier doubts that Hye had prepared for all this news. And seeing this map confirmed his doubts.

What he didn’t know was that Hye didn’t hear about what the Toranks were scheming. Yet he wanted to take more bases under his banner. From the look of it, he could tell the more bases he conquered, the better. Besides, he found different resources and weapons stored inside every base.

Even if he didn’t get the full list of everything, while his warriors were handling this under Olana’s command, the early reports spoke about huge amounts of weapons and different supplies.

When he thought about it, it made perfect sense. After all, the journey from the universe to here was quite long and dangerous. So it was expected for different forces to gather lots of resources and supplies inside their bases for long-term consumption. And he gained all this without knowing the great harvest awaiting him.

He was greedy to get more of these resources from other bases. That was why he had asked Olana previously to make this map for him. Yet he couldn’t tell which bases belonged to whom. And he planned to ask Moth first, and if it failed, he would spread lots of his warriors around to gather more intel about these bases.

All this wasn’t needed now. As Moth himself was here and was willing to help. Luckily, Olana was quick-witted enough to guess Hye’s intentions. And Moth grasped the whole situation wrongly.

Yet that didn’t stop him from helping. He pointed at each unmarked base and said to which force it belonged. In addition to that, he didn’t miss telling which side these forces belonged to.

After an hour, the entire map changed and was now covered with lots of writing. Not only that, Hye and Moth started a strategic meeting to plan their next steps and how to better move and attack those who wouldn’t agree to join them.

In the end, it was settled that Moth would handle negotiations with the neutral forces. As for Hye, he would turn from defence to offence, attacking the few forces bases that joined the Toranks side.

Like this, he would send a clear message that whoever sided with the Toranks would be wiped out without exception. And this would greatly help Moth in his mission. Yet the latter had to warn Hye about a very important point.

"You tested and saw how easy defending a base is, how hard attacking it is. Don’t take these battles lightly, and be prepared for huge losses without any gains..."

"Don’t worry about that," Hye interrupted the Hescos elder’s words, "I already have a plan that will secure me victories with the least casualties."

Hearing them made Moth pause, but he finally dropped the matter. He knew if that human said he would do it, then he would do it, regardless of how logic depicted otherwise.
