Impatiently waiting while he watches the reaction of Medea’s body to Evolution Energy, Novus continues utilizing Sensory Expansion at an all-time high, making sure he misses not a single detail of her refinement of the powerful energy so as to not put her in even more danger.

"Ughh..."

Eventually, what he was searching for finally arrived, her cells feeling the difficulty of keeping up with Evolution Energy’s movement as it began picking up the pace, causing her to feel a bit of stinging pain coming from inside her body.

Had it been any other day where she wasn’t this injured, this would never be the case, as her top strength and power are more than enough for her to quickly refine even the energy coming from an E Tier Evolution Crystal with ease; however, right now that she is severely wounded, it is taking all she has just so she can refine a single F Tier Evolution Crystal.

It is also for the same reason that Novus decided to step in, helping her to sit as he puts his hand on her back.

"Try to focus, just like meditating, but pay attention inside your body." he tries his best to explain what he had always been doing ever since he shifted from attuning himself with mana to absorbing Evolution Energy and refining his body with it, his words a bit vague for even a talented genius such as Medea to follow in one try.

"H-how?" she asked weakly as she felt confused with the comfortable warmth and the pain both stimulating her body, making her face feel a bit flushed as she awaited his guidance regarding what was happening right now.

"Just close your eyes, I’ll help you," Novus announced confidently, taking a deep breath as he calmed himself down, trying yet another part of the treatment for this lady’s injuries, trying to do another extremely difficult, if not outright impossible, thing once again.

’Relax, no need to worry... just a bit of guidance and she will pick it up...’ he calmed himself down as he began taking careful watch of the Evolution Energy circulating around her body, forcing a little bit of mana to prick her skin every now and then in order to relax or contract the muscles and nerves she needs to guide the Evolution Energy to refine and improve her body continuously.

’Smaller... more precise... cleaner...’ as he guides her in refining the F Tier Evolution Crystal, he continuously thinks to himself as his guidance improves more and more.

Even without him improving, Medea is already gradually getting used to the refinement process, the pain from being overwhelmed with the circulation now gone, as the only thing left is the warmth that she initially felt.

Time passes, and eventually, she had completely refined the entire F Tier Evolution Crystal at such a fast speed, allowing her to last just a little bit more.

As much energy as there is inside the one crystal however, it is barely enough to sustain her life, and not even nearly enough to heal her from her injuries a clear sign of this being the case is the fact that her wounds have yet to properly heal, each opening still oozing crimson blood as her complexion that just barely recovered from the absorption of Evolution Crystal starts turning pale once again.

"Take it." wasting no time at all, Novus took out an F Tier Evolution Crystal once again, making her ingest it to refine the energy inside. The lady had nothing to say at all as she merely nodded while looking at his serious gaze as he forced her to meditate once again.

Time gradually passes as Novus continues feeding Medea with F Tier Evolution Crystals without end, that serious, tense look on his face gradually being eased as he witnesses her body gradually returning to a healthier state.

Her wounds stopped bleeding before it finally began closing up, her fair skin gradually regenerated as if there was never any damage dealt to her at all, and just some dozen more of F Tier Evolution Crystal finally allowed her to regain her beautiful, rosy complexion, but not yet the strength and power she expended from the tiring, intense fight.

Eventually, Novus finally found the opportunity to let her recover by herself, taking this free time to begin absorbing E Tier Evolution Crystals in earnest as a single thought came to his mind.

’I have to get stronger’

Such thoughts echo in his mind as he recalls the state he previously found her in, the heavy, unpleasant feeling he felt as he carried her severely injured body, something that he never wants to feel in his entire life again.

"You just recovered, don’t move around too much..." however, his meditation will be abruptly interrupted as his sharp senses will feel Medea’s figure roaming around him, her gaze that seemingly wants to bore a hole through his being something that made him all the more uncomfortable to the point that he willingly stops his cultivation.

As soon as she caught his gaze, she took a single step back as panic and surprise appeared on her face, a tinge of red appearing on her cheeks as she averted her gaze away, fidgeting as he continued staring at her, her eyes turning to check whether he was still looking every now and then.

"What? Don’t tell me the shameless Medea I know of is now gone? What a waste of precious resources then."

Sighing as he wondered why she was acting so antsy like that, Novus asked, his tone initially serious, but as if to lighten up and ease the weird and awkward air lingering around the two of them, his tone gradually shifted into a soft, joking one that eventually made her giggle.

"Wow, this audacious junior dares to call me just by my name!!" she remarked as that familiar mischievous, playful smile began creeping up her beautiful face, one of her hands moving up as she covered her small mouth while giggling.

Feeling that familiar, warm and comfortable atmosphere the two of them always have whenever they are talking to each other, they couldn’t help but laugh a little bit more, bantering for a while before the place eventually turned silent once again.

"Thank you, Novus~" she said in a gentle tone as she revealed a feminine smile, the curve of her lips modest and graceful, all while her eyes formed a slight crescent showing how glad she truly is right now.

"As long as you’re safe." hearing her words, as well as seeing the gorgeous smile on her face, he couldn’t stop himself from freezing for a while before he finally nodded in gratitude, waving off his hand as if the help was nothing too troubling for him at all.

"Fufufu~~~ I knew it, Junior Novus is really interesting~~" as she saw how he acts like his help is genuinely no big deal at all, Medea couldn’t help but giggle to herself once more as she pointed out, his action making her feel like getting acquainted, eventually being friend with him, could be one of the best decisions she had ever made in her entire life.

After all, she is well aware of the fact that finding a friend who will do their best to grab you away from the maws of death is far too rare, and she just picked up one that she initially thought of as an interesting junior.

"Right, by the way, use my coat for now, Senior Medea."

"When we’re alone, just Medea, Junior Novus, and why would I want to use your coat?"

Hearing her question, Novus merely nods downwards as if signaling the lady to look down, the lady picking up his intent as she checks what it is that he wants her to see.

Facing the sight in front of her, she froze for a moment, before her face turned flushed with red as she shyly announced.

"Y-you’re right, I should borrow your coat for now."
