Chapter 60: 20th Rank

Quash threw his challenge and was pulled into the arena shortly after. When he opened his eyes, he was already standing in the seemingly endless plain of white tiles. He saw his opponent standing 100 meters away from him.

They both didn’t move even when the match started. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"You said you could beat me?"

The Barbarian spoke. His voice was rough and heavy. His eyes locked onto Quash. He had his war hammer out. He was fully focused. He had been underestimated time and time again. But this time, he felt different.

He wasn’t underestimated by his opponent like usual, because his opponent knew what he was capable of. But there was something else that made it seem like a fact rather than an empty statement.

He wanted to know what gave his opponent such confidence. Was it some kind of artifact? Or one-time use? But it wouldn’t matter because if the caster loses before they could activate the thing, what’s the point.

So he was very much curious as to what his opponent had in store for him.

Quash didn’t reply. No amount of talking would make his statement true unless he makes it true. The reason he believes he can win is because of the stats quality. Barbarians may be a race whose Strength stat is very high in quality, but their Dexterity Stats are just as shallow.

The Barbarian had over 200 Stats in Dexterity but if compared to a human’s Dexterity stat, it would be around 150.

But that was still a lot more than Quash.

So how will he win? Through the advantage of Dexterity. Dexterity doesn’t just mean speed but also flexibility and micro-movement. And Barbarians suck at sudden sharp turns because of their big bodies. Quash just needs to maneuver near his body and hit his weak point.

Seeing that Quash wasn’t going to answer, the Barbarian prepared himself. Violent red-black Barbaric Aura started to coat his body. He was using body enhancement from the start. Which made things harder for Quash.

But not impossible. He just needed to hit the weakness. And his weakness was fairly obvious. His lower back. That is the blind spot of his Aura defence.

After watching him fight a few times, Quash reached this conclusion. He is a brute who will charge at the enemy without a second thought. His Aura Enhancement mainly just gave a boost to his attacks and protected the vitals.

And because of that, he subconsciously ignores his lower back.

And that is why he is going to win. Quash breathed in and out to calm his mind. He needed to be absolutely focused. One hit and he was dead.

He knew the chains or the Bazooka would not work. Even if a Bazooka rocket hit the Barbarian without his Aura Enhanced body, it would barely make a scratch.

So they were out of consideration. He would just use his fists and legs.

Quash quietly used Attribute Superimposition. It was controlled and nothing leaked out. Indicating his increased mastery. He didn’t feel his nerves fry nor were there any side effects at this level of intensity anymore.

So he could fight for a prolonged amount of time.

After settling everything in his head, Quash made his move. He closed the distance between them but used Hard Stop to stop abruptly. A war hammer passed by his face. The gust of wind was so strong that it almost threatened to blow him away but he let go of Hard Stop and he got carried by the momentum.

Quash again charged towards the Barbarian and stopped near him. The Barbarian tried to strike Quash with his right leg since he was still experiencing the war hammer’s momentum.

That’s why the kick wasn’t that fast or strong. Quash easily dodged it and nimbly moved behind the Barbarian.

Bam~!

He delivered a kick to the Barbarian’s lower back and used the contact moment and momentum to push himself forward. He twisted mid-air and landed on the ground. A gust of air swiped past his face. Indicating the Barbarian had immediately countered.

"Is that all you can do? And you say you can beat me?"

The Barbarian said as he rested his war hammer on his shoulder. There was no smugness or triumph in his voice or face. As if he was making a simple inquiry.

Quash didn’t answer. He knew that his attacks wouldn’t have any effects now and it seemed hopeless in the long run as well. Because the Barbarian’s Vitality will involuntarily heal the minor damage. And there was his Endurance and Aura defence to tank most of his damage.

But Quash wasn’t shaken. He knew that he could win from the first confrontation. He just needed to make sure of two things.

One was that he didn’t get hit, even in the slightest.

And the other was that he made sure that the Barbarian thinks it was a futile attempt and he will fall sooner or later.

Basically create a fake sense of dominance for the Barbarian while stacking damage in his lumbar spine. He also needed to be very precise and hit only one spine bone every time.

And for extra security, he would be using subtle lightning to dull the sensation around that spine so that the Barbarian didn’t notice it.

And with enough repetition, the Barbarian would suddenly lose connection to his lower body, making him immobile.

And then it was game over.

With the goal set, he pulled out the Daddy Gojo blindfold and strapped it on. His vision was a limiting factor now. It limited his perception instead of helping it.

A clearer 3D model appeared in Quash’s head. The increase in Aura had certainly provided subtle buffs to him.

But all things said and done, he was ready. The Barbarian was patiently waiting. He was really inclined to see what this Class Limit human had that made him so confident.

Quash charged towards the Barbarian, and with his Proprioception on, he could understand his surroundings better and maneuver more accurately.

He nimbly passed the Barbarian and hit him in that specific bone in the lumbar spine and channeled small amounts of electricity.

There was no effect. Which was expected. So Quash didn’t stall and charged again.
