I Save The World In A Doomsday Text Game
Chapter 433-2: Emergency Summons, The Multivision Version of the Prophecy (2)
Lin Xun controlled the Grand Scholar’s shell and took the carriage toward the Multivision Branch Association.
[…]
[Before long, you arrive at the Multivision School Branch Association.]
[The fog reveals a skyscraper. Even through the mist, you can see its grand and majestic outline, yet in reality it is much more modest than the Direct Vision School’s facilities.]
[The Direct Vision Branch Association possesses extensive building complexes, and a single administration building there can rival the entire Multivision Branch Association before you. From this, it is clear that the Multivision School is indeed a more frugal and pragmatic Scholar faction.]
[Many carriages are parked at the base of the Association building. You are not the only one called back in a hurry. Scholars have come from all directions. In the short time it takes you to step down from your carriage and walk to the building’s gate, two more carriages arrive and stop.]
[You deliberately slow your pace and walk together with the two newly arrived Scholars. From their robes, you can tell that these two are Bachelors, their status lower than yours.]
[You try to probe them indirectly, asking about the details of the emergency notice, but they know nothing more. They only know that the summons range this time is quite broad. All those in the auxiliary capital whose academic rank is Elite Scholar or above fall within the range of those summoned.]
[Very quickly, you all reach the grand auditorium on the ground floor of the Association building…]
[As soon as you push open the auditorium doors, a cacophony of noise washes over you. The hall is packed wall to wall with Scholars.]
[Among them, you see familiar Bachelors and Grand Scholars, and you even catch sight of Scribes and Great Scribes whose rank is higher than that of Grand Scholars.]
[It is your first time seeing the Knowledge-Seeking Multivision Branch Association Scribe. Your Knowledge stat increases by 7,500. Current Knowledge: 49,000/90,800.]
[It is your first time seeing the Knowledge-Seeking Multivision Branch Association Great Scribe. Your Knowledge stat increases by 10,000. Current Knowledge: 59,000/90,800.]
[On the host dais is a Multivision Scholar dressed as a Sage. You have particularly deep memories of him. You know that he is one of the eight Sages of the Association, Sage Randall.]
[You find a seat toward the front. By chance, the Scholar beside you happens to be a Great Scribe, the Scholar of highest status in the seats around you.]
[You are just about to strike up a conversation and try to get some information from the Great Scribe when you see a look of surprise on his face. He cautiously glances up at the stage, then immediately shuffles his backside, moving one seat away from you.]
[Following his gaze, you look up to the stage and see Sage Randall withdraw his eyes and pull out a pocket watch to check the time…]
[Sage Randall clears his throat lightly. The noisy auditorium instantly falls silent, becoming as quiet as the grave.]
[He says slowly that any Scholar who has not arrived at the Association within the allotted time will have half a year’s salary docked.]
[With a wave of Sage Randall’s hand, the auditorium doors close of their own accord. Through the gap, you see two Scholars rushing toward the hall, their faces filled with despair as they are shut out.]
[You pat your chest in lingering fear, causing the slime at your chest to wobble wildly. Fortunately, you arrived in time, or your already poor family situation would have become even worse.]
[Sage Randall says sternly that the reason for this emergency gathering is to announce a major event.]
[This event concerns the life and death of the Association, and even the future direction of the entire world.]
[With the Sage speaking in such grave tones, the Scholars below the stage hold their breath and wait for him to announce the matter.]
[Sage Randall continues, saying that according to reliable intelligence, the Great Prophet’s prophecy has come true. The True God’s Envoy foretold in the prophecy has already descended into the world.]
[As soon as these words fall, the Scholars below the stage all widen their eyes, hardly able to believe their ears.]
[Their faces show undisguised excitement. If the atmosphere in the auditorium were not so heavy and solemn, they might well have cheered out loud…]
[Sage Randall also shows a faint smile and says that many years have passed since the Great Prophet’s prophecy, so some may no longer clearly recall its contents.]
[Now, he says, they need someone to deepen everyone’s memory.]
[Sage Randall’s gaze sweeps the hall and suddenly fixes on you, ordering you to recite the Great Prophet’s prophecy.]
[You know this is an opportunity the Sage is giving you to perform, so you immediately stand and loudly recite the prophecy as you know it…]
[The Great Prophet once foretold…]
[A stranger will leave his homeland, traverse stars, worlds, and dimensions, and arrive here to become the Envoy of a great existence.]
[The defeated heretics hiding in the starry sky will stage a comeback because of his arrival.]
[The ancient existence that fell beneath the earth will, because of his coming, revive and be reborn.]
[He is not a savior. He is the source of the world’s destruction!]
[He comes here bearing the sacred mission of saving the world, yet when he leaves, he will leave behind nothing but a scarred and devastated wasteland.]
[He will attempt to awaken the great existence that has long slept, but will instead allow evil to spread, bringing the entire world into the apocalypse.]
[He is not the True God’s Envoy. He is the most evil, most terrifying evil god!]
[Your clear and gentle voice echoes through the grand auditorium…]
[You tilt your chin up lightly and wait for the warm applause of the Scholars. Yet after you recite the prophecy, the auditorium is deathly silent, with no movement for a long time.]
[Feeling that something is wrong, you hastily look around and see that the Scholars are staring at you as if they had seen a ghost. On stage, Sage Randall’s face is flushed red with rage, clearly suppressing his anger with great effort.]
[Fortunately, as a Sage whose learning is profound, his composure and ability to smooth things over are both excellent. Sage Randall takes a deep breath, swallows his anger, and says that the Grand Scholar was merely playing a harmless joke with everyone so that those present could understand just how absurd the Direct Vision School’s twisted theories really are.]
[Sage Randall motions for you to sit down quickly and stop embarrassing yourself. He casually points at another Scholar and tells him to stand up and recite the prophecy.]
[The Scholar stands up at once and replies…]
[The Multivision Great Prophet once foretold…]
[A stranger will leave his homeland, traverse stars, worlds, and dimensions, and arrive here to become the Envoy of a great existence.]
[The evil heretical outsiders hiding in the starry sky, plotting a comeback, will be extinguished and fall because of his arrival.]
[The ancient being that fell beneath the earth, seeking resurrection, will be annihilated again because of his arrival.]
[He is the savior. He is the light of salvation for all people.]
[He is but a traveler passing by in haste, yet he will bear the sacred mission of saving the world and transform the scorched earth full of scars into an eternal realm flowing with milk and honey.]
[In the end, he will awaken the great existence that has slept for ages, allowing the world to gain new life at the brink of destruction.]
[He is the True God’s Envoy. He is the only chance for the world’s continued existence.]
[When the Scholar finishes speaking, thunderous applause erupts from the crowd below. Even Sage Randall on the stage looks at him with approval…]
Lin Xun was dumbfounded.
So the prophecy actually had two versions.
The Multivision Great Prophet’s version and the Direct Vision Great Prophet’s version were completely different, even directly opposite.
Which version was the real prophecy?
