I Will Conquer The Seas and Gods
Chapter 86: Finding Captain*
Dawn stood at the helm of her ship, dressed in only her shirt, with the top three buttons undone. Sweat beaded down her chest and forehead, causing her clothes to cling uncomfortably to her body.
She used the back of her hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead before turning her attention back to the map: Guide of the Second.
It had been two days since the Battle of the Golden Seas, and two days since Roseus had gone missing.
Luckily, Zaliah had a method to find him.
As long as the Captain did not remove the ceremony circle from his back, she would be able to sense its location.
Using this, and a mixture of the map, they had determined roughly where he would end up.
RedSand Island. A place that Zaliah was very familiar with.
She had explained to the crew that this was the place where she had become a believer in the sea god Yazu, and ultimately became a priest who spread religion amongst the island dwellers.
She told them about the Alzabe, who were pirates that sailed between the Southern Islands of the Second Ocean, trading amongst each other.
It was the one place where the Templars were afraid to spread their presence, since the Alzabe were known for having extremely powerful ships due to their belief in the sea god Yazu.
This would be good news to most people, but to the Redflowers, who had just formed an alliance with the Templars, this wasn’t helpful.
Still, they sailed the seas with hope.
As long as the Alzabe noticed the ceremony circle on Roseus’s back, they would treat him well. On top of that, if he was smart enough to mention that the ceremony circles were drawn by none other than Zaliah, the Priest of Ships, then he would be treated like one of their own.
Dawn only hoped that this was the case.
During their journey through the seas, the crew had all familiarised themselves with the numerous changes that had taken place within their systems.
...
Dawn was now 55% through the Rookie rank.
Her primary skills were Ember Scratch (Lv.2) — Wound Prediction (Lv.2) — Dash Step (Lv.1) — Double Slash (Lv.2) — Hardened Hull (Lv.3).
Her primary treasures were the Crescente Spear and a new treasure "the Cloak of Authority", which gave her a dominant presence around those who were slightly stronger than her. It would moderately weaken their morale and courage.
As for Crescente Spear, it was linked to the moon.
...
Blodwen was still a Drowned whose skills were mostly unknown. He did not claim any of the treasures from the battle and had spent most of his time resting and recovering after his time spent in his shark form.
If he didn’t rest, he would gain an obsession with being in the water.
...
Zaliah had revealed that she was a Salt blood, but not one who was suited towards combat.
In the battle, she had not done much to make progress and did not claim any treasures for herself.
More importantly, she had also been severely drained after constantly tracking Roseus and pumping her ceremony circle with enough power to heal a severe wound, the specifics of which she didn’t know.
...
Silius had progressed to 42% through his Rookie Rank.
His main skills were Needle of Ruin (Lv.2), which would now specifically point towards the danger that the seas believed was most necessary for him to know of, rather than simply showing him the closest significant danger.
His Shortblade Efficiency skill also reached Lv.2, and through studying the Guide of the Second map, he not only gained great knowledge of the Second Ocean’s geography, but had also ranked up to Rank III in his Navigation skill.
Through this, he awakened a skill called Nullify. This allowed him to slightly nullify the Weather Sense powers of someone within a 100m radius who had the ability to control weather.
He also had the skill Urge, which could urge rain to fall, but he hardly found much use for it, and it remained at Level 1.
...
Kruger was now 87% through his Rookie rank.
His primary skills were Scattered Shot (Lv.2) — Piercing Shot (Lv.3) — Fast Hands (Lv.3) — Cannon Amplifier (Lv.1).
The final skill was new and slightly increased the strength of all cannonballs that were fired from a cannon that he was manning.
With the mixture of these skills, he was easily an incredibly powerful shooter.
...
Petyr had almost caught up to Kruger in terms of progression, as he had managed to slay an Executive Officer during the battle on Commander Chestnut’s ship. He was now 80% through the Rookie Rank.
His primary skill was Shadow Thrust (Lv.3). When he thrust his blade, two shadow versions of himself would perform the same strike, each acting as a true physical strike. He could delay these strikes, forcing the defender to try to evade all three strikes at different times.
On top of this, he now had Blade Extension, which allowed his thrusting strikes to slightly increase in length right at the end of their attacks.
This was similar to a skill he had seen used by Lieutenant Nimitz.
...
Jackson was now 45% through his Rookie Rank.
His main skills were Heavy Hands (Lv.2) and Boxer’s Shell (Lv.1). 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
This allowed him to raise his hands into a boxer’s guard, which would moderately strengthen his entire body against purely physical attacks.
He was becoming a true unarmed specialist.
...
Adriana was 51% through the Rookie Rank.
Her primary skill was Triple Shot (Lv.3), which allowed one shot to produce three bullets, all of the same strength.
She had also awakened a Weather Sense skill called Frozen Bullet. This could give her bullets the ability to slightly freeze the surroundings of wherever they hit within a ten-centimetre radius. It would also charge them with the ice element.
...
Pip was 30% through her Rookie Rank.
Her primary skill was Fake Footing (Lv.2), which allowed her to perform a strange manoeuvre that let her trick enemies by suddenly switching her step direction, making her extremely hard to hit.
She had also awakened Airborne Thrust, which slightly increased the strength of stabs and thrusts performed with weapons while airborne.
...
Finally, Lavender was 15% through her Rookie Rank.
Her only skill was Seeking the Divine (Lv.1), which allowed her to sense treasures belonging to the god she believed in up to a five-metre radius. She had found no use for this skill yet.
However, she had slowly been increasing her knowledge about the numerous sea gods that existed throughout the seas.
As for her own beliefs, she continued praying devoutly to the God of Knowledge. She had not been able to mimic the power she once used to help Roseus fight against the ramblings of Rai’zac, but she would keep trying, waiting for her god to speak to her again.
