Chapter 1315: What's Wrong with Meeting Again?

Snowy Plateau Region, Resistance Army Camp.

Resisting tyranny truly requires immense courage, while also facing an exceptionally harsh living environment.

The Resistance Army camp felt even worse than a refugee camp from the peaceful era.

Inside the underground caves, the lighting was dim. The scarcity of energy forced them to conduct most activities during the day. By night, aside from the areas where cadres worked, no lights were lit here.

The weapons were mostly outdated, dilapidated firearms, with the occasional advanced equipment snatched from the chieftains' private soldiers. However, these were few in number and could only be allocated for use by superhumans.

Most people living here wore dirty, tattered cotton-padded jackets and down coats, wrapping themselves in overcoats and sleeping bags to get by each day.

Yet, even so, no one displayed any attitude of complaint.

The reason was simple.

Those who could come here to participate in the rebellion against the chieftains' rule were all people who could no longer survive.

Drolma rode her tall dire wolf back to the camp. All along her route, her movements were observed by the Golden Eagle lurking among the mountains.

At the camp entrance, Drolma dismounted the wolf. With just a glance, the tamed beast obediently ran to the side and burrowed into a snowdrift to warm itself.

Drolma entered the camp. Everyone she encountered along the way greeted her warmly.

Drolma responded to each one, but her footsteps were swift as she headed deeper inside.

"Where has the Buddha's Child gone?"

On the way, she stopped a female soldier to ask.

Within the Resistance Army, their leader, the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle, was called the Buddha's Child.

After all, in the Esoteric Buddhist Sect, to mobilize the people to rebel against the chieftains, they needed to leverage the name of religion.

Buddha's Child was a title corresponding to the Lord of the Charnel Ground.

The female soldier smiled. "Sister Drolma, the Buddha's Child is inside, treating everyone's frostbite!"

Drolma nodded, realizing it must be for the serfs rescued just a few days ago, along with several trapped women.

She walked briskly to where the people lived.

The cave was filled with makeshift tents. The temperature inside the underground cave was much warmer than outside.

People wrapped themselves in blankets and overcoats, unwilling to move around much, afraid of consuming extra energy.

A tall man draped in a black robe was moving among the crowd, applying medicine to those suffering from frostbite.

Drolma walked to a spot not far from him but did not disturb him. She simply watched quietly as he applied medicine to the hands of a teenage girl.

His movements were as gentle as if caring for his own daughter, applying the medicine while offering comforting words.

This little girl, who not long ago was in a serf camp unsure which day she might die, kept looking at him with reverent eyes.

After a while, the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle finally finished his tasks.

He turned to look at Drolma, smiling. "Drolma, you're back? Come, let's talk over there."

His voice was low, carrying a hint of fatigue.

However, what was most striking was the black mask made of unknown material covering his entire face.

Drolma accompanied him to the side. The two of them simply found a pile of miscellaneous items and sat on it.

Drolma told the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle everything that had happened today.

"They said they would await our response. Buddha's Child, this matter requires your decision."

The Snow Mountain Divine Eagle listened silently, then lowered his head in contemplation.

"Originally, we didn't hold much hope that they would help."

"It was only after hearing you say that the Pagyi Family's mercenaries seemed to have compassion for us that I asked you to give it a try."

"Logically speaking, since they are employed by the Pagyi Family, they would most likely refuse."

They had only gone to Liang Yue for help based on the idea of trying everything, even the impossible.

The Resistance Army was too poor; they had nothing worthwhile to offer others.

"But I never expected there could still be a turning point."

Drolma furrowed her brows, saying worriedly, "However, we still don't know if they are genuinely kind-hearted people helping us, or if this is a trap set by the chieftains."

After all, Zhang Yi's request was to meet the Snow Mountain Divine Eagle.

That was the person the chieftain families most wanted to kill.

"Meet me?"

The Snow Mountain Divine Eagle's tone carried a hint of amusement.

His eyes beneath the mask flickered with a bright light.

"I think I probably know who that person is."

Drolma looked at him in surprise. "You know who he is?"

The Snow Mountain Divine Eagle nodded. "You could say I do. However, if it really is him, then we have hope of overthrowing the chieftains' rule!"

He recalled the events of that night.

Five Epsilon-level superhumans, gathered together at the Great Snow Mountain.

That scene, one could say, was something none of the five of them had anticipated.

And that formidable Liang Yue was merely a subordinate. It was easy to imagine that her boss must be one of the few who appeared at the Great Snow Mountain that night.

If they could secure the help of an Epsilon...

Then their wish might truly have hope!

The Snow Mountain Divine Eagle propped his chin on his hands, carefully pondering for a long time.

Then he said to Drolma, "Drolma, we can agree to their condition. However, there is one prerequisite!"

...

Not long after, Liang Yue received Drolma's message. She hurried over to show it to Zhang Yi.

"Zhang Yi, look, her message has arrived!"

Zhang Yi glanced at it and couldn't help but smile.

Because what it said was that after their operation concluded, they could meet with Zhang Yi.

The other party was also a very cautious person.

"Zhang Yi, what should we do?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Liang Yue inquired.

Zhang Yi gave a faint smile. "Agree to it! Anyway, we just need to do nothing when the time comes. There's no loss for us."

"Okay, then I'll reply to her."

Seeing that Zhang Yi had no objections, Liang Yue immediately gave Drolma a positive response.

...

Time quickly arrived at the day the Prayer Festival was to be held.

Actually, in the preceding days, the area around Sangha Monastery had already become extremely lively.

Tens of thousands of serfs labored here, decorating the surroundings of Sangha Monastery with utmost solemnity.

Huge wooden poles were erected, draped with long, magnificent cloth. Without exception, each pole had to be carved with exquisite Buddhist images and Tibetan Buddhist scriptures by craftsmen.

On this day, Zhou Ke'er, Yang Siya, and a few others came before Zhang Yi.

Seeing the women of the household looking hesitant yet full of anticipation, Zhang Yi smiled and asked, "What's the matter? Do you want to go attend the Prayer Festival?"

The women glanced at each other and all laughed.

Zhou Ke'er said, "Really, nothing can get past you. I hadn't even opened my mouth, and you guessed it."

Zhang Yi said, "In this place, aside from that grand festival, there's nothing much worth seeing elsewhere."

The land was frozen, the weather bitterly cold; everywhere was a scene of bleak desolation.

Yang Siya leaned closer, clasping her hands together. "We've come all the way to the Snowy Region. If we could witness the Prayer Festival with our own eyes, it would truly make this trip worthwhile!"
