Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies
Chapter 1362: Infinity
For this operation, the Knights of the Round Table had sent six people to the Snowy Plateau Region.
The deputy commander, Judgment Knight Lancelot, led the team.
The remaining five were:
Rebellious Knight Mordred, a man in his thirties with short chestnut curly hair.
Pure Knight Agravain, a beautiful young girl with light blue eyes and long, wavy hair like seaweed.
Shining Knight Lamorak, a short-haired female swordsman with a cold, sharp gaze.
Green Knight Bors, a man with black hair and an aquiline nose.
Guardian Knight Galahad, known as the Golden Lion for his golden hair, a burly middle-aged man.
Lamorak put forward her own idea.
"Since these things can't be killed, why don't we try making them kill themselves?"
Hearing Lamorak's words, Agravain blinked curiously and asked with a puzzled expression:
"How would we do that?"
Lamorak pressed down on her rapier, a confident smile curling at the corner of her mouth.
"We just need to find two monsters and make them stare at each other. That way, they'll attack one another."
"Even though we can't kill them, according to the rules of the 'Asylum,' they're invincible here and have absolute power."
Lancelot understood what Lamorak meant.
"You mean we exploit a loophole in the rules here, trap them in an infinite loop, and cause the rules to collapse?"
According to the rules Batu had left behind.
First, the Shadow Figures could not be eliminated through attacks.
Second, anyone targeted by a Shadow Figure would be attacked the moment they looked away and be assimilated into one of them.
It was like an object that possessed both the strongest spear and the strongest shield at the same time.
So, if they just made them attack each other, the entire game's logic would collapse.
"I think that's a pretty good idea. Worth a try."
Golden Lion Galahad stroked his chin and said with a cheerful smile.
Meanwhile, in the shadows, no one knew when, but more and more of those Shadow Figure monsters had appeared.
They stood completely still, like statues erected in the darkness, hunched over, looking like so many mummified corpses, yet giving everyone the feeling of being constantly "watched."
Immediately, Lancelot ordered a few soldiers to go over and arrange those Shadow Figures facing each other.
The soldiers followed orders and did as they were told.
As long as they were being watched, they wouldn't make a single move, even letting you do anything to them.
But whatever you did, you must not look away.
Because the moment they left your line of sight, they would become unimaginably fast and terrifyingly ferocious.
In no time, over a dozen Shadow Figures were placed together in a circle, made to stare at one another.
Lamorak slowly backed away step by step.
"Follow my lead. Slowly leave this place and let them gradually disappear from our field of vision."
Everyone carefully retreated step by step. When they passed a corner, they slowly moved back until the figures vanished from sight.
Everyone watched ahead nervously and expectantly, wondering if they would succeed based on their next reaction.
After waiting for more than ten seconds, there was no movement ahead, but it felt like a century had passed for everyone.
Lamorak took a deep breath and gave a thumbs-up to a soldier beside her. "Go check it out."
The soldier walked forward step by step, rifle in hand.
When he turned the corner, he lifted his head and saw a massive Shadow Figure standing right in front of him, practically staring down at him face-to-face.
Behind it, over a dozen Shadow Figures filled the entire corridor. They had no faces, no expression to speak of, but the soldier could clearly feel that they were "watching" him!
"Urgh..."
He wanted to scream, but in his extreme terror, only a choked sob escaped, like someone had his neck in a death grip.
Seeing his expression, Lamorak and the others already knew their plan had failed.
"Don't blink!"
Lamorak said immediately.
But just then, a terrified scream rang out from the back of the crowd.
Lamorak and the others turned around and were shocked to see that, at some unknown moment, a Shadow Figure had appeared among their ranks, its massive body standing behind the crowd.
"When... did this happen?"
Lancelot's expression turned grim.
They had been careful to watch every direction. Logically, there shouldn't be any blind spots. So how had the Shadow Figure appeared among them without anyone noticing?
Could there be some other rule they had overlooked?
A scream rang out again. Lancelot looked up and realized the soldier he had sent to scout was already gone. In his place, a large mass of black, slime-like substance was slowly rising from the ground, gradually forming a new Shadow Figure.
It turned around and silently stared at the group.
In an instant, chaos erupted everywhere. Even the most steadfast minds would start panicking in the face of such a sudden change.
Originally, according to Lancelot's orders, everyone had to watch all directions around them.
But with this chaos, their eyes didn't know where to look.
Screams came one after another. Two more soldiers were attacked by Shadow Figures and quickly assimilated into their kind.
One side grew stronger while the other weakened. The number of Shadow Figures on the scene increased, while Lancelot's soldiers dwindled.
They could barely manage to watch every Shadow Figure around them before, but now they were stretched thin.
The moment they lost eye contact, the Shadow Figures would instantly act, moving at an unimaginable speed.
"Let's go! Get out of here first!"
Mordred crouched down, placing his right hand on the ground. Soon, a large, muddy swamp formed beneath their feet. The massive bodies of the Shadow Figures sank into it, and though they descended slowly, the moment they broke line of sight, they still charged at them.
Green Knight Bors placed his right hand on the wall. A rumbling sound was heard as the wall surface suddenly cracked open. Thick vines grew out of the wall, completely separating them from the Shadow Figures.
But soon, a crunching, shattering sound came from outside. Even the tough wall of trees was breaking apart rapidly.
"Go!"
Mordred said in a low voice. Everyone sank through the ceiling of this floor and dropped down to the level below.
But soon, they saw another large group of Shadow Figures pursuing them at the end of the road.
Behind them, the passage was already completely blocked off by an increasing number of Shadow Figures.
Mordred's throat moved with difficulty as he cursed fiercely, "Damn it!"
