I'll Just Be Overpowered
Chapter 57: Mages
The cultist believed for certain that the attack had connected and Ken would lose his head, only for Ken to grin at the last moment, his feet pressed into the ground hard as he forced himself to go low and come to a stop, he passed under the blade by a single inch and then rose up with his fist coming up.
BAM!
The fist collided with the jaw so hard that the cultist lifted into the air.
"Really thought you could take me out my surprise?" Ken yelled and then proceeded to leap into the air, thrusting his blade into the chest of the cultist and pushing down until they slammed into the ground and died.

He pulled the sword from the chest of the cultist and then looked at the two that had attacked first.
"Why did the both of you stop attacking? Did you really think he would be able to kill me?" Ken asked with a smug look on his face.
The two cultists turned and looked at each other, then they bolted. They began crisscrossing themselves to try and distract Ken, their swords covered in lightning and flames.
"Really now?" Ken asked. He pushed one leg back and gripped his sword tight, then he dashed again. The two attacked from different angles at the same time. He saw the blades coming, yet there was not a single panic on his face. He drove his foot hard into the paved road and spun around extremely fast, his blade clashed into the blades of both of them, knocking their attacks back.
They both landed, stunned for a moment, but then they attacked again.

His feet slammed into the chest of one and hurled the cultist back. Then he turned his attention to the one to the side. He wielded the lightning sword, charging fast and attacking as their swords collided and caused a shockwave. The cultist was pushed a few feet back.
The cultist that had been thrown back got on his feet, but rather than attack Ken, he set his eyes on Luna who was back there. He dashed in her direction, past Ken and kept running. π§π³π¦β―ππ¦π·π―ππ£π¦π.πΈπ°π
The cultist made it half the distance before Ken gave chase, leaving the other cultist behind. The first cultist thought for sure that he would get Luna before Ken could get him, only for him to feel a presence over him that very moment. Ken grabbed him by the back of his neck and proceeded to pull him back so hard that it could shatter his neck. He slammed the cultist into the ground from behind, his head bouncing like a ball.
Ken proceeded to then stomp the face with his boot. The hard sole crushed the skull and turned the face into bloody mush in an instant.
"How dare you go after someone else when fighting me," he spoke, his voice filled with rage. He looked up at the second cultist who was stunned at how fast his brother had been killed. This moment of being stunned was all that it took for Ken to rush at him. He could barely react as the sword slashed through his throat and his head flew into the air.

He flicked his sword and the blood dropped off it. He turned his eyes to the situation around. More of the cultists had shown up on the roof and now they were attacking.
Multiple of them leaped off the roof, attacking Ross. Ross sheathed his sword and closed his eyes for a second. The moment he opened them, his sword left the sheath and moved through the air in a clean arc. The cultists were all slashed in half, their blood fell before their bodies knew they had been cut.
Ross sheathed his sword and then turned. He looked at Ken who was standing there with a sword in his hands and bodies at his feet. He was stunned when he saw that Ken had actually killed two of the cultists.
Sadly, he did not have the time to focus on Ken. More cultists leaped off the roof and one mage also appeared, his staff targeted at the carriage, about to cast a spell.
Ross moved fast, unleashing a barrage of slashes that ripped through the cultists. He cleared the way and then launched into the air as he went for the mage, creating platforms of ice and leaping from them fast.
The mage saw Ross coming. He cast his spell fast, unleashing a massive fireball that headed for the carriage. Ross saw the massive flame go past him. He turned, gritted his teeth and then thrust one hand forward. A magical formation formed on the body of the carriage and then a massive ice wall formed around it. The flames slammed into it, blasting the ice into nothing, pushing the carriage hard and slamming it against a wall.
The carriage was safe regardless. Ross heaved a sigh of relief. But that moment of distraction was enough. Another mage who had prepared an attack unleashed a long distance compressed fireball at Ross, and by the time he turned it was far too late. It slammed into his chest and knocked him back through the air. He slammed into the ground hard.
"Sir Ross!" Michael screamed. He turned his head and saw the attacker in the distance. He was about to rush that way, but the ice queen placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Stand back," she said.
"Nero?" he called her name, shocked that she wanted to go herself. She rarely did things of her own will, especially fighting, because when she fought, the entire area knew that she was there.
She leaped onto a roof, then dashed. A small sonic boom could be heard as she crossed the roof in seconds, so fast that she turned into a blur. A group of cultists stood there and got ready for her. Her face remained emotionless as she drew her blade from its sheath.
