I'm Already the Richest Man, Why Did My System Just Arrive?
Chapter 94 - 86: The Treasure Queen and the Flower Boy
Before he left, Scarface Liu revealed something: another department had snatched Princess Yu Run’s case and was fast-tracking the investigation. He believed they would have some leads soon.
Although Zheng Xiu wasn’t truly in a hurry about it, if the case really did fall into Ye Weiyang’s hands, he couldn’t say whether Ye Weiyang’s relationship with the Zheng Family was that of an enemy or a friend. The Second Prince’s words had made sense. With him currently in prison and ostensibly no way to go out and cause trouble, it was illogical for the Second Prince to come all the way to Heaven-Gazing Prison just to deceive him for no reason.
After asking a few casual questions, Zheng Xiu learned from Scarface Liu that there had been no more deaths in the city after those bloody cases. The mysterious killer seemed to have gone quiet.
’Thinking back now, the people who had died were either in control of important industries or held high-ranking positions. Could their deaths also be related to the matter of appointing the crown prince on the third day of the third month?’
With nothing to do during the day, Zheng Xiu fell into a deep sleep.
Zheng Xiu didn’t open his eyes until sunset. His stomach was empty, and hunger washed over him.
After struggling with Feng Bei all night, Zheng Xiu was indeed exhausted.
’Enter the Heart Prison!’
Outside the spacious Heart Prison, the fog was grim and heavy.
On the map on the table, a new [Post Station] had strikingly appeared.
[Post Station] Feng Bei (Home)
[Affinity] Spoiling
[Path] Executioner (Ding Wei)
[Destiny] Celestial Killer Lone Star
[Physique] A grain of rice in the granary
The new Post Station was "Feng Bei (Home)."
The [Physique], however, was different from Feng Bei’s.
Feng Bei’s was "Taking Shape."
Feng Bei’s home was "A grain of rice in the granary."
’These days, I feel like I’ve been reading through an encyclopedia of idioms,’ Zheng Xiu thought.
Simply put, the scale of the [Post Station] at Feng Bei’s home was even smaller than Feng Bei’s own.
Apparently, this [Physique] didn’t just describe the visible scale, but was also related to the concentration and range of the "Ghostly Realm."
Perhaps because the mountain peak had been "contaminated" by Feng Bei’s aura for so long, it had produced an extremely faint Ghostly Realm, one that was almost negligible.
But because of Feng Bei, Zheng Xiu could also anchor to that location and teleport his Incarnation there.
’I get it.’
He could enter Feng Bei’s home whenever he wanted.
’This makes finding my experience piñata super convenient!’
Zheng Xiu silently gave it a thumbs-up.
But at the same time, Zheng Xiu was puzzled.
’I’m a Mystic, and Feng Bei is a Mystic too. Why is there such a huge difference between us?’
’Even the Raven didn’t sense anything from me.’
’Another question to add to the list.’
With this question in mind, Zheng Xiu slightly adjusted the Traits on [Zheng Er] and [Purgatory].
He planned to try something new with Feng Bei tonight.
After messing around all last night, the [Tracking] Trait embedded in Purgatory had progressed with Divine Speed, reaching the "Entry" level in just a single night.
As long as he used Purgatory to attack Feng Bei, he would gain Experience Level points, some more than others.
Zheng Xiu set his sights on the hardest one to level up: [Intimidation].
’You’re the one for tonight.’
He expertly embedded [Intimidation] into the slot in his field of vision.
In the Heart Prison, he swung the Purgatory Curved Saber. The path of the blade faintly trailed arcs of black lightning, as if concealing a soul-shaking power.
’It looks cool, for sure. But I’ll have to try it on Feng Bei to know what it actually does.’
Under the cover of night, he struck out with Divine Travel.
Disturbing good families and their loyal dogs along the way, Zheng Xiu returned to the Zheng Family estate.
Feng Bei had made plans with him for tonight, so she didn’t come to stand guard.
Many Wandering carters were coming and going in front of the gate, hauling muddy water and building materials.
The appearance of the "Zheng Er" Incarnation had definitely been noticed by certain interested parties, but Zheng Xiu was unconcerned. With his Main Body currently sitting in Heaven-Gazing Prison, he was like a stabilizing pillar to many. They probably thought that by keeping Zheng Xiu locked up, they had the Zheng Family in their grasp.
Zheng Xiu’s compliant attitude also seemed to be a statement of its own.
This, however, was exactly what Zheng Xiu wanted.
Pingping was the one who opened the door today. Her face lit up with joy when she saw the young master.
After leaving Pingping, Zheng Xiu headed straight for the east wing to find Second Lady.
Thanks to her years of familiarity with Zheng Xiu, Zheng Erniang recognized his true self at a glance. This wasn’t a bad thing. At least now when Zheng Xiu spoke with Zheng Erniang, he no longer had to hide things.
As night fell, Second Lady had not yet gone to sleep.
Seeing Zheng Xiu arrive, Second Lady’s eyes filled with unconcealable joy. She dismissed the Maid, shut the door tightly, and the two were left alone.
Zheng Xiu first asked about Zheng Erniang’s recovery. After receiving an optimistic reply, he asked her to find an excuse to do two things for him.
"Gather some ancient books, collections of poetry, and storyteller commentaries?"
"And send a set of high-quality ’Four Treasures of the Study’ to you in Heaven-Gazing Prison?"
After noting it down, Zheng Erniang looked at the pony-sized version of Zheng Xiu. A playful mood struck her, and she couldn’t resist pinching his cheek, asking with a smile, "What are you messing around with all this for? You can clearly come out anytime you want, so why stay in that wretched place?"
"I have my reasons. You don’t need to worry, Second Lady." Zheng Xiu slapped away her mischievous hand and prepared to leave.
"Is it for... Feng Bei?" Second Lady asked from behind him.
Zheng Xiu was taken aback. He knew Second Lady had misunderstood, but... ’was she also right?’
Zheng Xiu’s silence only made Zheng Erniang more certain. She covered her mouth with her hand and chuckled. "But Master, are you sure you want to keep facing her with this false appearance? Have you ever thought about what will happen one day when she discovers the real you isn’t the you she’s been hoping for? What will she do? What will *you* do?"
"Don’t worry, Second Lady! You can hide something for a time, but not forever! When I find the right opportunity, I’ll definitely face Feng Bei with a different appearance."
Zheng Xiu was secretly referring to his "Zheng Shan" Incarnation, as well as his other Incarnations.
Second Lady was relieved and watched as Zheng Xiu leaped out the window and left.
The moment he jumped through the window, the youth dissolved into a puff of green smoke and vanished.
Returning to Heaven-Gazing Prison, Zheng Xiu didn’t linger. Inside the Heart Prison, his finger jabbed toward the new [Post Station]: Feng Bei’s home.
He had originally wanted to appear inside Post Station Feng Bei, but Feng Bei was what you could call a monster. He feared something might go wrong if he casually entered the Feng Bei Post Station, so Zheng Xiu chose Feng Bei’s home as his teleportation anchor.
In the vortex, a pitch-black door swung open. When Zheng Xiu emerged, he found himself in mid-air, next to a cliff face.
Zheng Xiu froze for a second. ’Of course, the fall won’t kill me.’
It seemed the range of a [Post Station] was indeed spherical, just as Zheng Xiu had predicted.
A piercing bird cry echoed like a clap of thunder. By now, Zheng Xiu was already skilled at transforming. His chest pulsed, and black, vein-like patterns spread across his body. A single wing unfurled, trailing an inky shadow. Like a humanoid demon, Zheng Xiu carried two Large Curved Sabers with chains wrapped around his arms as he sped toward the mountaintop.
In front of the house, a bonfire was lit. Feng Bei was sitting beside it, boredly tossing logs into the flames one by one.
SIZZLE! SIZZLE! SIZZLE!
A strong gust of wind pressed down from above, sending sparks flying. The bonfire let out a harsh crackle.
Feng Bei looked up, the corner of her mouth twitching into a smirk.
"Sister Feng Bei, taste my blade!"
Zheng Xiu was impatient. After that one opening line, he started to grind for Skills against the Treasure Queen, Feng Bei.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
The chains shot out in a surprise attack, surging toward Feng Bei.
Having fought with Zheng Xiu all night, Feng Bei already had a clear understanding of his Miracle Technique—or so she had thought.
The Curved Saber swung down, its brilliant arc splitting in two. Within the burning black flames, faint traces of black Electric Light coiled.
As it fell, the Curved Saber was like a bolt of black, fiery lightning striking downward.
WHOOSH!
The bonfire was extinguished in an instant.
Feng Bei’s gaze sharpened, and she stared in astonishment at the smug-looking youth in mid-air.
His "Miracle Technique" was different!
