I'm the Culinary God
Chapter 939 - 396: Chen Yan’s Precise Interception! Some People Appear to Be Anglers, but Behind the Scenes... [Monthly Ticket Requested]
"Speaking of which, Aunt hasn’t driven the X5 yet."
Chen Yan, holding Dundun, came to the riverbank and saw the black car baking in the sun. She thought it should be moved, or it would be unbearably hot inside when they left.
The problem with black cars is just this, so Chen Yan always prefers white cars.
Dundun, who had been quite restless in her arms, suddenly became unusually well-behaved after they got inside, even lying on Chen Yan’s shoulder.
This unexpected behavior made Chen Yan feel relieved; she realized her cheap nephew was more reliable than expected.
It wasn’t wasted bullying... no, loving.
"If you stay this good, I definitely won’t bully you, little Dundun. When we get back, Aunt will buy you toys, lots of pet toys."
She mumbled this while pressing the car key button.
After unlocking it, she first placed Dundun on the passenger seat, then got into the car.
It was indeed quite hot inside. Although not as scorching as it could fry an egg like in summer, it was still a bit stifling in her jacket and thin sweater.
She started the car and lowered the window.
Through the left rearview mirror, she saw a tall parasol tree not far from the outside of the embankment. Though the parasol leaves had turned yellow and begun to fall, it still cast a vast shadow.
Since that’s the case, she decided to reverse the car over there.
Might as well experience the X5’s reversing camera, see if it’s as hyped up as advertised.
Engaging the reverse gear by rotating the lever, she slowly released the clutch, and the car backed steadily at an angle.
Just as she was reversing, a leaf fell from the tree, landing right in front of the reversing camera. Chen Yan sighed helplessly; her luck today was unbelievable.
First catching a small fish while fishing, now a leaf blocking the camera while reversing.
Such bad luck, is even heaven envious of my beauty?
She was half-heartedly thinking about this when Dundun suddenly leapt into her lap from the passenger seat.
Startled, Chen Yan let out a reflexive scream, and her foot instinctively pressed hard on the accelerator, making the X5 roar backward like a wild bull.
She panicked completely, only remembering the car was angled and hurried to straighten the steering wheel to avoid hitting the tall parasol tree.
Just as she turned, the car hit something like a wall, jolting violently and producing a loud crash from the rear, then the engine stalled.
Chen Yan was so scared she went limp. Dundun, however, jumped up from her arms, meowing towards the back.
This sound brought Chen Yan back to her senses. She struggled to turn her head and saw that a sedan had rolled into the riverbank.
Oh my gosh!!!
She hit someone else’s car, what was going on?
She shakily pushed open the car door, terrified she had seriously hurt someone. As she got out, her legs were weak, and she could only shout towards the river ditch:
"Yueyue, brother-in-law, I... I think I hit someone else’s car."
She didn’t even need to say it; the people fishing in the ditch had already noticed. The X5 had suddenly accelerated like a cannonball, hitting a Hyundai car.
At the moment of impact, the X5 was still sharply turning the steering wheel.
The huge impact force directly pushed the scrawny Hyundai into the river ditch.
Though it was an accident, the collision looked almost orchestrated.
Lin Xu had thrown his fishing rod aside long ago, climbing up the riverbank with Shen Baobao and Zeng Xiaoqi to see a terrified Chen Yan and asked:
"Are you hurt?"
"No... just shaky legs. Is anyone dead?"
"It didn’t fall into the water, so probably not. I’ll go check. Yueyue, stay with Sister Yan."
Lin Xu saw Dundun waving its paws at him from inside the car, seemingly fine... wait, how did this little guy with such high luck value hit another car?
And hit it dead on at that?
He followed to where the Hyundai had rolled down and was about to check the car when he kicked something that felt like a tree branch.
Looking down, he found it was... a submachine gun.
Various guns often appear in movies and shooting games have a wide range of firearms, but Lin Xu had never seen one in real life.
The gun’s exterior was worn; some places even had the paint chipped.
But no matter how damaged, it’s still a gun, a deadly weapon.
He looked towards the Hyundai, where Old Man Sun and a few fishing men were already around the overturned car, pulling people out.
Lin Xu picked up the gun and shouted to Old Man Sun and the others:
"Be careful, this guy has a gun!"
As soon as he said it, the person being dragged out tried to run, but Old Man Sun grabbed his hair, slammed his head down, and immediately trussed him up with a perfect Big Grapple Technique.
"You little punk, no matter where you’ve made trouble, don’t think you can slip through my fingers, Old Sun. If it was two years back before I retired, I’d have you face down on the ground... Don’t just stand there, loosen his belt and shoelaces!"
After overcoming the initial surprise, the other fishing guys quickly complied.
They tied the guy up like a hog on Chinese New Year, and Old Man Sun stood up. Seeing the gun in Lin Xu’s hand, he looked relieved:
"Luckily it fell out of the car, or it would’ve been really dangerous. Hand me the gun, will you?"
Lin Xu handed it over, and Old Man Sun expertly unloaded it and removed the magazine.
Once done, the sound of police sirens blared from the riverbank. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Old Man Sun, you used to be..."
