Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!
Chapter 413 - 405: Deep Sea Horror 7
Josh barely avoided a few chopstick-fork attacks, quickly squeezed into a seat, and enlarged her body.
The fathead on her left exclaimed, "Eek! The food has come to life!"
The fathead on the right rolled its eyes, "Fool, this is a red jellyfish. I told you to wear glasses when you go out and you didn’t. How are you any different from a blind fish?"
The fathead on the left retorted angrily, "What do you know! Wearing glasses makes me look like a human, it’s so ugly and spoils my image. So many people are here dining today; I’m not wearing glasses!"
The fathead on the right laughed mockingly, "You already look like a human, whether you wear glasses or not makes no difference."
Josh had to interrupt their argument, "Who organized today’s gathering?"
The fathead on the left said, "The organizer is Sir Mermaid. Isn’t he sitting over there? Did you not wear your glasses either?"
Hearing this, Josh looked over at the largest skeleton at the other end of the long table.
No wonder his head looked human, turns out he’s a mermaid, the upper body is naturally human bones.
The lower body was hidden behind, obscured by the dense crowd of creatures, completely concealing the mermaid’s tail.
Josh knowingly nodded, "We haven’t had a gathering like this in a long time, right? Why suddenly have one today?"
The fathead on the right taunted, "Are you new here? You don’t even know that? Really clueless!"
The fathead on the left rolled its eyes at Josh, "Ignore him, he’s just acting all snobby ever since he got a glimpse of the King from afar. Now, he acts superior to everyone he meets."
Josh good-naturedly asked again, "But won’t we be discovered, gathering here like this?"
The fathead on the left said, "What’s there to fear? I heard everyone on the ship died! Even if they didn’t, with the King returning today, we have nothing to fear anymore!"
Josh frowned slightly, what did they mean by the King returning?
She asked again, "Since the King is returning, why are we secretly dining here?"
Once she asked this, several creatures nearby looked at her like she was asking something strange.
A long-necked fish suddenly stretched its head over, sniffing around her, "You’re not human, are you?"
As soon as he said this, more creatures looked over.
Josh lifted her electrified little tentacles without a trace of panic, "I was just born not long ago, my mom hid me away, I don’t know much about the outside. She didn’t let me play out there."
The long-necked creature scrutinized her sharply, its eyes rolling around, "Then where’s your mom?"
Josh looked pitiful, "Taken on the ship, she hasn’t returned yet."
Hearing this, the fathead on the left couldn’t hold back anymore, hugged Josh close, glaring at the fish, "What’s wrong with you all! She’s just a kid! What are you doing, bullying children? The Sea Clan should be united, you understand unity?!"
The long-necked fish, hearing this, retracted its neck.
Not done yet, it secretly slapped itself twice, why did it have to pressure a child about something so sad, beast! 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Josh covered the smile in her eyes, looks like the buff still worked.
She had a "Sea Clan Affinity" buff, she thought it might have worn off, but it still seemed useful.
All thanks to the Mermaid King...
She quickly shook her head, now was not the time to think about this.
She looked up again, like a little child, and asked the person next to her, "Then why are we hiding here to eat?"
The fathead on the left lowered its voice, "Because there’s a traitor in the Sea Clan! This traitor defected to the humans and is their lackey!"
The fathead on the right also showed anger on its face, "If we don’t hide and the traitor sees us, he’ll bring humans to catch us!"
"Traitor?" Josh widened her eyes, like she didn’t understand, "But why don’t we just kill the traitor with so many of us?"
The fathead on the left said, "That damned traitor is extremely cunning! Schemes as many as the sucker pads on his tentacles! Even the King has suffered under him, we have to avoid him, if he brings human weapons to capture us, we’ll be in danger!"
Josh showed a hint of sadness on her face, "That’s how my mom got caught. I dreamed she was trapped in a giant water tank with many red jellyfish..."
"Poor kid..." the fathead on the left hugged her, gently patting her head with a fin.
Josh looked up, "Brother, can you tell me who the traitor is? If I knew, I could avoid him."
"This..." a hint of hesitation crossed the fathead’s face, "No, I can’t tell you, his name is cursed by the King, no creature in the sea can say his name."
Josh was somewhat puzzled, "But if that’s the case, how will us newly born kids know who the traitor is? What if he quietly approaches us and tricks us to the shore?"
The fathead on the right heard this and said, "Remember child, if you see a multi-legged creature, stay away from him."
A hint of realization flashed in Josh’s eyes.
Multi-legged, and tentacle suckers, the outline was forming.
She pretended to be pitiful and prodded them a few more times, but got no more information.
These two fatheads gave only one piece of information, "Multi-legged creature."
She didn’t waste any more time on the two fish, squeezing among other creatures to fish for information in the same way.
But the information gathered was scarce.
Either these creatures didn’t know who the traitor was, or those who did refused to say much.
Time was slipping away.
Josh was about to turn and find her team, when suddenly a bone whip-like thing stretched out from between the creatures, wrapping around her and pulling her away.
Josh was startled internally, Yuze and the others hidden among the crowd also suddenly changed their expressions.
It turned out the one who pulled her was the largest skull at the end of the long table, entangling her with his segmented bony beard.
Josie remembered they said he was a mermaid?
"Little one, you seem unfamiliar." The bony figure spoke vaguely, as his three layers of teeth clattered up and down, black gas coming out of his mouth as he spoke.
Josh nearly fainted from the stench.
She quickly said, "I’m new."
Though this creature looked fearsome, she inexplicably had a natural filter and affection for mermaids.
Probably because of the Mermaid King.
The mermaid stared at her for a while, suddenly said, "You’ve been circling around the table, inquiring about the traitor, are you very impressed by him?"
Uh oh!
This mermaid seemed to have a high status at the table, when he made a move, almost all creatures looked over.
Asking such a thing in front of so many creatures, the traitor hidden at the scene must have been alerted.
