Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!
Chapter 443 - 435: Meeting the God
Josh could feel his breath spraying against her ear.
She seemed to be embedded in his embrace, held from behind, with his face pressed against hers, lying in an extremely intimate and ambiguous position.
Josh could even feel his strong heartbeat and scorching body temperature through his clothes.
The familiar yet unfamiliar scent aggressively surrounded her.
Compared to him, her breath was short and brisk, while his was long and deep.
Yet unconsciously and without realizing it, she adjusted her breathing rhythm to match his, the two of them ultimately breathing in sync.
Noticing that the person behind her made no further movements, she slowly relaxed, snuggled comfortably into the warm embrace, secretly inching closer before closing her eyes to sleep.
In the darkness, their bodies fit perfectly together, with only the faint sound of breathing gently leaking out.
...
The next day.
Josh was still asleep when she was awakened by Rob’s loud voice.
"Wuhu! Come out quickly! The sunrise is about to happen! Get up now!"
She rubbed her eyes, still not fully awake, her brain buzzing.
Beside her, Yuze was also awakened.
He moved slightly and let out a "hiss," taking a sharp breath.
It was then that Josh realized their somewhat ambiguous position.
She quickly rolled out of his arms; the tent wasn’t very warm, and she shivered a bit with regret for coming out so quickly.
Yuze didn’t open his eyes, his voice still a bit hoarse from sleep: "What time is it?"
Josh glanced at the time: "It’s 5:30 in the morning."
Yuze: "... Can you go outside and push him down the mountain? Pretend he lost his footing, the captain won’t report you."
Josh was amused by him, dispelling the awkward atmosphere.
Now that she was awake, she decided to get dressed, "I’m going out to check it out."
"Wait a moment." Yuze called out to her.
Josh turned around, and a piece of clothing landed on her head.
Yuze’s voice carried a hint of drowsiness: "Put on a coat before going out, the morning temperature is low."
"Okay." Josh replied, putting on his coat and getting up to wash up.
The sun hadn’t risen yet, but the horizon was already pale with light.
Beside the mountain top was a disposable pool and cups for everyone to use to wash up. After Josh finished, Yuze and Yushi were already up as well.
The horizon gradually turned golden.
Josh excitedly ran over to Rob, looking at the golden horizon.
Others came over one after another too.
The sunrise itself only took about a minute.
Only when the sun rises or sets can one feel the passage of time.
After watching the sunrise, the group didn’t linger, quickly leaving the mountain top.
*
That evening, Yuze knocked on her door, his expression a bit strange.
Josh opened the door and saw his odd expression, puzzled: "What’s up? Regret knocking on the wrong door?"
Yuze’s mouth twitched slightly: "No..."
Josh: "Then why do you look like you’ve just eaten something nasty?"
Yuze’s face turned dark; he shouldn’t have worried about this little brat.
"The god said he will summon you tomorrow."
Josh’s eyes lit up: "Do we have a result so soon?"
But Yuze said: "I’ll go with you tomorrow, just to be safe."
Josh nodded: "Okay!"
Yuze saw her calm demeanor and couldn’t help but smile.
That’s Josh for you, always so composed in situations where most wouldn’t be.
If it were someone else, they would definitely be nervous and ask him what to pay attention to when meeting a god or inquire about details concerning the deity.
For instance, what kind of personality does the god have, do you need to bow when meeting the god, is the god temperamental, what should you be careful about when talking to the god...
But Josh just nodded calmly and didn’t ask anything, preparing straightforwardly for the meeting the next day.
Once he didn’t understand her way of thinking, but now he knew.
She always viewed the world as a passerby; so many things that seemed important to others were just trivial to her, leaving little mark on her future.
Yuze ruffled her hair: "Then it’s settled, tomorrow I’ll call you in the morning, and we’ll go together."
The next day.
When Yuze knocked on her door, Josh was already awake and had washed up.
To say she wasn’t prepared to meet a god would be untrue; at least she compiled a list of questions to ask.
After all, wouldn’t the trip be for nothing otherwise?
The two went downstairs, had breakfast, and Yuze drove the Mighty General, taking her to Layena Star.
It was just around noon when they arrived in front of the temple.
Last time Josh came to Layena Star, she had seen the palace standing amongst the clouds.
But she had never come this close to see it personally.
The temple was like a Western Gothic castle, entirely white, with colorful transparent glass windows, making it look like a sparkling... temple from the outside.
Josh felt like she was stating the obvious in her mind.
The castle doors were open, allowing a view of the interior.
The stained glass cast fragmented patterns of light and shadow, the scattered halos adding considerable divinity to the entire temple.
They walked inside.
Josh looked around curiously.
She found that the interior of the castle looked bigger than it did from the outside, providing more space.
From inside, everything was surrounded by pure white walls and transparent glass; sunlight refracted in, making the entire nave glow.
The interior was symmetrically designed along a central axis, with very high ceilings, and the surrounding Roman pillars seemed to endlessly extend upward, vanishing into the clouds.
In front of the hall, there were over a dozen steps. On either side, there were flowing hot spring pools and wafts of steam, enveloping the entire grand hall in a hazy mist.
Josh followed Yuze step by step up the stairs, seeing the seats above.
A white throne resembling a Roman statue, the back of the seat seemingly adorned with complex and ornate patterns.
The god sat poised upon it, wearing a long robe, long hair cascading to the ground, loosely braided with flower vines.
His clothing was exquisitely sophisticated.
If she hadn’t seen the attire of the nobles on Layena Star, she might think the god’s outfit was strange, as if from another dimension.
But having witnessed the nobles’ bizarre and extravagantly retro outfits during the new year on Layena Star, she found the god’s attire relatively normal.
Yet it was very extravagant.
Though the clothing was simple, appearing as soft as warm water, the gems, silver clasps, and tassels were incredibly intricate.
At a glance, it seemed inconspicuous and very minimalistic, but on closer inspection, many details revealed their finely crafted nature.
Josh looked at the person on the throne, the legendary chief of the Seven Gods, Chenyu, who astonishingly had the same face as the Mermaid King and Yuze.
He looked just like the same person, yet somehow not.
His hair was a golden color, but lighter, like sunshine, yet his eyes were azure.
Like a combination of the Mermaid King and Yuze.
Would such a coincidence exist in this world?
