During the past few months, Ming He of the Eastern Light Clan was still hard at work searching for three more companions to serve as his Dao companions. Out of the five phases of Wuxing, he now had Hu Xing for the wood element and Liu Mingjia for the earth element. He still needed water, fire, and metal elements to complete the set.

Amongst Chen Wentian’s other human souls, Ming He was perhaps the most interesting. He had the most potential because he could cultivate the First Light of Zhulong, another divine beast Dao. There was also a chance of obtaining the remnant source of light of the shining dragon and becoming a true powerhouse.

Therefore, Chen Wentian decided to help his soul with the matter of finding Dao companions, especially for the water element.

“Brother Ming, that’s Glacier Palace?” Hu Xing said while looking at the vast snow-covered palace made of ice in the distance.

The trio of Ming He, Hu Xing, and Liu Mingjia were huddled together in a hut atop an icy mountain. Across a giant glacier valley, Glacier Palace was situated on the tallest frozen mountain. It was an inapproachable fortress, especially for outsiders.

Their small hut was a secret known only to insiders of Glacier Palace. It was built under Chen Wentian’s orders specifically for Ming He's use. It allowed a certain disciple of Glacier Palace to meet outsiders without anyone else knowing.

After waiting one day and night, there was a knock at the door. The block of ice that kept out the bitter cold rumbled and then moved to the side. A diminutive figure stomped inside and brushed off the snow on their protective fur coat.

Ming He, Hu Xing, and Liu Mingjia watched the new arrival intently, not saying a thing, waiting to see what kind of person they would be.

The heavy hood was eventually pushed back, revealing a small, cherubic face that was slightly red from the cold. Her long, glossy black hair was tied up in a small bun, revealing gentle, almost immature features. She was a living doll, pure like snow.

Her eyes fell upon Ming He and she smiled. “Senior Sister Li didn’t lie to me, you are indeed as handsome as she described.”

She covered her mouth and giggled for a little bit. Then, she realized where she was and blushed, “Oops, where are my manners? Stupid, Xiao Xi’s so stupid…”

Hu Xing and Liu Mingjia glanced at each other. Hu Xing was incredulous while Liu Mingjia had a frown.

“Dear future husband, this one is named Bai Yuxi, disciple of Glacier Palace,” She knelt on the cold floor and bowed deeply.

Hu Xing burst into laughter, “Brother Ming, wait… Haha, this is who we were waiting for, this is who your friend had prepared for you?”

“Big sister, I may not look like it but I am…” She counted with her fingers, “Twenty-seven years old this year!”

Liu Mingjia snorted loudly, “Twenty-seven? Really?”

She poked Ming He hard in his side, “So, this is the type you actually like? I didn’t know you were such a pervert!”

“Hey!” Bai Yuxi pouted, her cheeks puffing out like a chipmunk, “What’s wrong with being small!”

She hopped back up and stood on her toes. Even so, the top of her head only barely reached Liu Mingjia’s shoulder. As for Hu Xing who was a giant amongst women, there was no need to even compare.

Chen Wentian felt a headache coming on and tried to calm everyone down. He explained that Bai Yuxi was indeed a top disciple of Glacier Palace. She was twenty-seven years old and already at the 8th Level of the Spirit Initiate Realm. She barely missed the cut to join the group of ten talented disciples that always trained together with Long Yifei. Thus, her name was not widely known outside of the sect.

But inside the sect, she was a famous figure. Li Yuechan, her sisters, and even Long Yifei knew of her. When Chen Wentian asked about a candidate for the water element, Bai Yuxi’s name was the first one that Li Yuechan recommended.

“Heh… I see how it is…” Liu Mingjia eyed Ming He and shook her head, “This your attempt to overcome your obsession with that woman. You can’t fool me.”

Chen Wentian glared at her, “It’s not. Whatever you have heard, they are incorrect. Since everyone is here, I will explain it clearly…”

He took a deep breath and looked around seriously, “Glacier Palace disciples are well known by the Eastern Light Clan. They are all excellent as water element Dao companions. One year ago, Ice Fairy Long Yifei came to the Eastern Sanmu Metropolis and I had a brief dream of convincing her to be my Dao companion. Naturally, I was not suitable for her even though I put forth my best effort. I have nothing to be ashamed of for that.”

“After that event, I wrote to her master, Immortal Blue Dragon Chen Wentian to apologize for my actions and to seek forgiveness if I offended him. I found that Lord Chen is a reasonable and honorable man. He replied magnanimously and offered to resolve the issue of my water element Dao companion with another candidate. So, that is why we are all gathered here today.”

“Oh! So, it was actually Lord Chen!” Bai Yuxi giggled, “No wonder, I was surprised when Senior Sister Li offered to find me a talented husband from outside the normal channels. Never in my dreams could I have imagined a member of the Eastern Light Clan!”

Chen Wentian chuckled. He had also noticed this Glacier Palace disciple after he took over the sect. But he already had six disciples from here so he couldn’t do anything about it as himself. Using Ming He felt like the perfect solution.

“Xiao Xi, can I call you that?” He asked.

She nodded happily.

“Haha, don’t worry. I will treat you well. I am not just a member of the Eastern Light Clan. I am a direct descendant of the clan head, Immortal Light of Daybreak Ming Mu and his personal disciple. I am the future leader of my clan!”

“Wow… amazing!”
