Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Minato

The white-haired girl jumped down. The girl instinctively stepped back. It didn’t want to go near this place at all.

The horse could smell death.

"Go. I call you." Carter said.

The horse replied with a neigh and rushed away.

Carter then turned around and faced the poison-filled land. This place was the best place to test his Transcendent Circulation. It would tell him how effective this ability actually was.

The white-haired girl approached a thin cloud of Toad Poison first and reached her hand toward the poison.

Carter didn’t activate his Transcendent Aura or use his Transcension Ability. He only used his pure flesh.

The smooth skin of the white-haired girl came into contact with the purple cloud. The poison separated itself like a river being split into two.

’It avoids me purposefully.’

Carter frowned. He needed to be poisoned by it or else he wouldn’t know how power it was. Carter suddenly had an idea in his mind.

"Come." He whispered faintly.

The poison crawled toward him like living being. They touched the white-haired girl’s smooth skin.

Her skin immediately changed color. But it was only for a split second. When the poison entered Carter’s bloodstream, it was immediately cleansed and being stripped of its harmful properties.

’So this is what Transcendent Circulation is...’

Evaporative Decompression released excess or harmful energy out of the body via thermoregulation. Transcendent Circulation cleansed it, nothing could imbalance the perfect scale it created... yet.

Carter knew that a powerful enough poison would be able to exceed this immunity.

’Transcension as the core. Transcendent Aura as the offensive. Transcendent Circulation as the defensive. The choice is obvious.’

’Retain Transcension.’

[Transcension is retained]

Unlike the reaction with the Shrine Maiden, the existence of this skill within Carter, the host, didn’t gain any reaction.

’Hmmm. It’s not easy for the skills or abilities to fuse or mutate naturally. But the skins are the exception. They are more sensitive to these sorts of changes.’

Carter shoved the Skin System aside and continued in the Demonic Poison Sect. The place was eerily quiet. There wasn’t even the sound of insects.

Carter passed through the empty courtyard. He saw the ruin of the Main Hall that once invited all types of Fighters and Nobles inside Arashi.

Then he saw the place where it all began. The Murasaki Mountain.

This place was once where the Grandmaster of the Sect lived. It was also where he placed the rooms of his official students.

Carter continued the path he saw in his vision. He approached the well located at the foot of mountain.

’I only created a well because it was a suitable scene for John Collins. And somehow, another well has appeared in my path. Fate really is ironic in a way.’

The white-haired girl raised her hand. The Transcendent Aura appeared. The well detached itself. Each brick flew up and placed gently to the other side. The dirt opened up and formed a staircase leading downward.

Because of Transcendent Aura and Half Formation, Carter could easily manipulate the environment around him. It was so graceful that it looked like he controlled the fabric of reality.

Then he walked into the deep dark well.

The Shrine Maiden was blind so it didn’t matter if there was light or not.

In the middle of the well was a disfigured monster. A monster with a turtle shell on its back. A pair of mantis blades stuck to its arms. Its feet were that of a goat. And its face, half was human and half was unimaginable horror.

"Hello, Murasaki." Carter said.

The man didn’t respond. The nature of his existence prevented him to die. But his mind had long deteriorated.

Carter waved his fingers gently. The white aura wrapped around his head, returning glimpses of his prior consciousness.

The monster looked up slowly. His feet were bolted to the floor and his wrists were cuffed to two giant chains.

"Is that you, Hachi?" The man’s grumbly voice echoed. He sounded he hadn’t drunk any water for years.

He really didn’t.

"Hachi isn’t here. He had left this place years ago. His name is Tengo Ryuja now." Carter’s soft voice answered him.

Carter’s voice was the exact opposite of the man.

"Tengo?" The monster laughed and coughed. "Strong Sky? Even with his power, his taste is still as lowly as himself."

The monster opened its eyes and looked at Carter. Among all those monstrosity, those eyes belonged to a human. But they were filled with unrelenting rage and pain. If Carter released this monster, he would cause even more destruction than Ryuja himself.

That monster was the Grandmaster of Demonic Poison, Murasaki Minato.

"Who are you, stranger? Does Ryuja feel bored torturing me now? So he sent you to service me?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Minato laughed even more. And he coughed even more.

"I am Shinto Mikoto. A seer. I saw you here so I came."

"For what? I have nothing to give you." Minato said.

"I don’t want anything from you, Minato."

Carter weaved his fingers. The bolts on his feet turned to water. The chains turned to ash.

"You?!" Minato gasped. He stood up slowly.

That power. Whatever power the white-haired girl used shook him. It was out of this world. She just manipulated the very matter that made these objects.

But that feeling went away quickly. Rage and pain came back to haunt Minato. He grinned widely and his saliva drooled.

Minato jumped at Carter. His Mantis Arms acted like blades and sliced at Carter.

The white-haired girl weaved her fingers again. Minato lost all of his power and he fell to the ground.

Carter acted like he could do this for as long as he liked. But those moves burned a lot of his internal energy.

However, the show must go on.

"What happened to you was injustice, Murasaki Minato. But it was also the results of what you did in your past. Those cruelties you committed in your formative years. Fate is always fair."

"What do you even know about me?" Minato growled and jumped at Carter again.

The white-haired girl flicked her hand, sending Minato flying and slamming heavily onto a wall.

"I know many things. I know all things. Like what little Hachi did with your wife."
