Infinite wealth In A New World
Chapter 458: The End Of The World — The Slumbering Abyss
Deep in a huge roofless cave, the silver moonlight shot through the open rock ceiling, shining like a natural spotlight on the pristine, glowing blue waters inside. The cave was deadly silent, separated from the flow of normal time and space. The quiet was broken only by the rhythmic sounds of moving waters and the soft, echoing howl of the wind.
WHOOSH!! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
The fabric of space tore open like a fragile canvas, and Jinx appeared, landing gracefully on the rocky shore. She blinked, her experienced eyes rapidly moving her gaze around the place, assessing for threats. A heartbeat later, the spatial tear spat out the three triplets: Lucian, Treasure, and Destiny.
"Huh? Where are we?" Treasure asked, her voice echoing off the damp, cavernous walls. She moved her gaze around the cave, then raised her head to the sky, staring at the massive full moon that seemed impossibly close in this pocket dimension.
"I can’t sense anything at all... Not a single life force," Destiny muttered. He opened his striking golden eyes, pushing his sensory abilities to their absolute limits, but the ancient magic of this place swallowed his perception entirely.
"You three can’t see it, but it’s right in front of us," Jinx warned. She waved her hand, and her lethal dagger materialized in her grip. Her gaze was locked dead-center on the seemingly empty space just above the tranquil waters.
"Huh?"
"...?!"
The three were stunned by her warning and quickly summoned their weapons, their combat instincts taking over. Lucian held his heavy broadsword with both hands, his muscles tensed. Destiny crouched low, holding his two razor-sharp twin blades.
"What are we even fighting?" Treasure asked in confusion, raising and cocking her two MP5 submachine guns. They weren’t ordinary firearms; they were heavily modified, Primordial-infused weapons fully upgraded by her father’s genius inventor, David, capable of tearing through magical shields.
"Didn’t know I will get disturbed in my sleep."
A voice sounded all over the place, ancient, resonant, and dripping with immense pressure. The space before the three cracked like shattered glass, and a massive, scaled tail briefly appeared on the land, whipping the air.
".....?!"
The group blinked in shock, their eyes following the rest of the colossal body, which remained hidden deep inside the dark water.
"Come out!!! The Realm Ruler of all Realms Rulers need you!!" Jinx yelled, refusing to be intimidated by the sheer scale of the creature.
"Realm Ruler of all Realms Rulers?"
The massive tail shook, sending ripples across the subterranean lake, and moved silently back into the water. Then, absolute silence descended all over the place once more.
"...?!"
The group looked at one another, their guards fully active, weapons drawn and ready for an ambush.
"Why would such a person be after me?"
The water began to bubble and rise. A beautiful, towering lady with luminescent blue skin rose from the water, standing perfectly on its surface. Huge, sinewy tentacles stuck out from her back, twisting and coiling in the air, while their thick ends dug deep into the water, anchoring her to the abyss.
"So you’re the divine beast we are after," Destiny said, staring in awe at the sheer concentration of primordial energy radiating from the lady.
"Divine... I like that title," she smiled, a look of melancholic grace on her face, and placed her webbed hand on her chest.
"I am Nammu... I am the goddess of all seas. If this realm ruler plans to absorb me, he will have complete control over the waters of all realms..." She closed her deep blue eyes, absorbing the gravity of their mission, and reopened them.
"He already got the powers of the other gods and goddesses, why is he still searching for more powers?" she asked, her voice tinged with genuine sorrow for the falling pantheons.
"Hey woman, I don’t know what you are saying, but with your tone... It seems you already know why we are here," Treasure yelled, stepping forward and pointing one of her upgraded guns directly at Nammu’s face.
"I don’t give a fuck who you are, but decide now... Are you coming with us peacefully, or not," she added, her hot-headed nature overriding her fear of the divine.
Nammu didn’t even flinch at the weapon. "If I want to fight you guys, I can easily kill all four of you... The only reason I don’t dare to is because of what is in her possession," Nammu said, slowly raising a dripping finger to point directly at Jinx.
"The Realm Ruler gave her something, that thing can kill me in an instant... If I act, I will surely get killed."
Destiny lowered his blades a fraction, glancing at his older sister. "It seems Dad gave us a powerful protector," he whispered, while Lucian and Treasure slowly nodded their heads, realizing how close they had just come to being wiped out.
"So why aren’t you coming with us?!" Jinx yelled, keeping her dagger raised, staring at the trapped goddess.
"You aren’t the only ones here... It seems these guys are also searching for me." Nammu raised her head toward the cave ceiling, the moonlight illuminating her face, and started ascending gracefully into the air.
"Help me get rid of them and I will follow you," she added.
The four blinked in confusion, but followed her lead, ascending into the air with their own levitation skills, rising out of the roofless cave and into the night sky of the End of the World.
"Huh?"
The four were completely stunned. Staring at them from a distance away, standing on the edge of the crater, were the Nine Commandments. Leading them was none other than the feared leader himself, Night Ghost.
"It seems we are early," the First Commandment said, her voice cold and distorted, her expression completely hidden behind her eerie, featureless mask.
"The Commandments," Treasure gritted her teeth, instantly recognizing the dark, ominous robes the ten were putting on. The tension in the air skyrocketed.
"So these ten are after you?" Destiny asked, staring at Nammu’s back, calculating the impossible odds of fighting the entire commandments.
"There is one difference between you two group... You guys don’t have any killing intent towards me, even when she pointed her weapon at me, she wasn’t going to attack... That’s why you all waited to see if I will attack first. But them." Nammu fixed her ancient gaze on the ten dark figures.
"They have killing intent against me. So it’s better to follow you than them," she added.
Jinx slowly descended back onto the solid ground, stepping in front of her younger siblings to shield them. She stared fearlessly at the ten monsters of the underworld before her.
"These guys are strong," she said with a reckless, confident smile. Primordial energy flared violently around her body as she activated her unique skill, and she rapidly multiplied into ten identical, perfectly solid clones.
"But I alone can deal with them." She smirked, her grip tightening on her dagger, ready to wage a one-woman war against the enemy.
