Interstellar Farming: I Make Potions and Climb to the Top
Chapter 47: Body Refining Potion
The next day, Ning Xuan left for the Earth Fire Room to cultivate. Just as she stepped out of the courtyard, Jia Shiyi—the man from the day before who could turn invisible—appeared, saying Lin Mo wished to see her.
"I made myself perfectly clear yesterday. Lin Mo and I will have nothing to do with each other, so there’s no need for us to meet," Ning Xuan said, frowning.
"Miss Ning, my master asked me to relay a message. He has absolutely never done anything to harm you. He knows you were targeted in an assassination attempt and has already sent people to the Slaughter Pavilion to investigate. If this incident has you worried that he might mean you harm, he is willing to explain everything to you in person." Although Jia Shiyi was blocking her path, his attitude was extremely courteous.
"Chen Nan!" Ning Xuan called out. Chen Nan immediately understood her intent. He shot forward and shoved Jia Shiyi. "Get out of the way! My Contractor doesn’t want to see you!"
The two were evenly matched in overall strength. They traded blows, pushing and shoving each other all the way to the entrance of the Earth Fire Room. Seeing no opportunity to pester her further, Jia Shiyi temporarily withdrew.
Lin Mo, who was waiting nearby, heard Jia Shiyi’s report and understood Ning Xuan’s stance. He sighed and went to find Chen Hui. Pressured by Lin Mo, Chen Hui had no choice but to write a letter to his younger brother and give it to him.
Thus, on the morning of the third day, Chen Nan received a letter delivered by one of Lin Mo’s men. Though highly reluctant, he showed it to Ning Xuan after reading it.
Although Lin Mo had never been to Extreme Cold City, he was well-informed about the situation there. He was certain that Chen Nan had initially brought Ning Xuan to the city without her knowledge. However, upon learning that she went to the Earth Fire Room for Cultivation and Alchemy every day, he quickly understood why she was willing to stay.
The letter was addressed to Chen Nan, but Lin Mo was certain he wouldn’t dare keep its intended message from Ning Xuan.
The message Lin Mo wanted to convey to Ning Xuan was simple. He stated that when it came to Fire Element Energy, Extreme Cold City’s was negligible. He had access to many locations with far stronger energy. He could provide her with better cultivation resources and even find the best Alchemy Masters to mentor her, helping her achieve far greater success in Alchemy.
Chen Nan watched anxiously as Ning Xuan finished reading. His own abilities were limited, and his family didn’t value him, so he couldn’t mobilize their resources for her. He truly couldn’t offer her anything better. And everything Lin Mo had written... it was all true.
After reading the letter, Ning Xuan tossed it back to Chen Nan and resumed her daily practice. The next day, however, she didn’t go to the Earth Fire Room to cultivate. Instead, she took all the medicine she had crafted and stockpiled to the market. She had already found a shop to sell them on consignment. Her medicine was of high purity with almost no impurities, and she had potions of every level: Low-level, Mid-level, and High-level Compound Potions. They were met with widespread acclaim as soon as they hit the market. The fever suppression medicine, a new type of medicine, was particularly sought after. Despite its high price, the limited supply and official certification of analysis meant it was sold out in an instant.
The moment this batch of medicine hit the market, the name "Miss Ning" spread like wildfire. With her earnings, Ning Xuan went to the Divine Weapon Grocery Store to pick out a few suitable weapons. She planned to venture outside the safe zone to the S-Class hazardous area, the Black Water Ice Prison, in search of something.
Over the past month, the special energy had forced open all the acupoints in her body, but she was still unable to withstand the shock of her Superpower Body awakening.
She had scoured every alchemical resource she could find, finally discovering a formula in a tattered old book titled *Alchemy Miscellaneous Records*: the Body Refining Potion.
The Body Refining Potion could temper the body and improve its physical strength. It was a Star Rank compound medicine made mostly from High-level Exotic Plants. Its composition was so complex that only a Spirit Controller with powerful spiritual power could successfully craft it.
Generally, Spirit Controllers with an A-level Spiritual Power Level or lower could only refine High-level Compound Medicine at best, earning them the rank of High-level Alchemist.
Only those with an S-Class Spiritual Power Level or higher could craft Star-grade Medicine, earning them the title of Alchemy Master.
The formula she found was for a heavily modified version of the Body Refining Potion. It substituted the original’s auxiliary ingredients with lower-grade alternatives. For instance, the SS-level Exotic Plant, the Yunlian Flower, could be replaced with the Foggy Flower—a local specialty of the Black Water Ice Prison that had the same effect. As for the main ingredient, an S-Class Exotic Beast’s inner core was needed, and an Ice Python Inner Core would work. Conveniently, Ice Pythons were known to inhabit the Ice Lake within the Black Water Ice Prison.
When Chen Nan learned of her plan, he looked as if he’d been struck by lightning. He wanted to send her away immediately—anything was better than her marching to her death in the Black Water Ice Prison, because he would undoubtedly have to die with her.
"Why the long face? I’ve been planning this ever since I got the Body Refining Potion formula. This isn’t some impulsive decision to go hunt an Ice Python!" Ning Xuan said with disdain, seeing the world-ending look on Chen Nan’s face.
"Contractor, the Black Water Ice Prison is an S-Class hazardous area, and the Ice Lake is a forbidden zone within it! Those Ice Pythons may be rated as S-Class Exotic Beasts, but they’ve been S-Class for centuries. Their actual Combat Power far exceeds their Level! Plus, they’re Ice Attribute beasts that can manipulate the weather around the lake, making them extremely difficult to handle. I can go hunt one myself, but you really can’t go!" Chen Nan wasn’t even confident he could successfully hunt an Ice Python on his own; protecting Ning Xuan at the same time would be impossible.
"I already told you, I’ve been planning this for a long time. If you don’t want to go, I’ll just hire a Mercenary Corps to take me!" The medicine she had crafted had earned her plenty of Extreme Cold City’s universal currency. As long as she paid, she could sign a contract and hire them for the job. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"I’ll go! How could I not go? Contractor, you’re right, we can hire a Mercenary Corps. In fact, I know a few highly-rated teams. I’ll contact them today!" Hearing that Ning Xuan was willing to bring mercenaries along, Chen Nan felt a wave of relief.
He quickly contacted two S-Class Mercenary Corps he had dealt with before. One had six members, the other seven, all male Spirit Controllers between 20 and 40 years old. Half of them were S-Class and the other half were A-level. By the time the contracts were signed, it was already 10:00 AM. Ning Xuan insisted on leaving that day, so Chen Nan rented a vehicle from the administration center, assembled the teams, checked their equipment, and they departed from the safe zone.
