Knotting His Rejected Breeder
Chapter 158: Morning After
RAMON’S POV
The sound of birds chirping stirred me up from my deep sleep. Their cheerful songs filtered through the open window, mixing with the soft rustle of leaves in the morning breeze.
I opened my eyes, and bright light trickled into my eyes, warm and golden as it spilled across the room. I yawned deeply, stretching my arms above my head as I looked down to see Sonia on top of me, her head resting on my chest, her hair splayed across my skin like dark silk.
Memories of last night returned to me in a flash, and my blood pumped in excitement. The feel of her body under mine, the way she had moaned my name, the raw hunger that had consumed us both, it all rushed back, making my cock twitch against her thigh.
No woman had drawn me to a desperate need to claim them like Sonia had done last night. I was incapable of turning away. But it was a given.
Whatever happened last night was a buildup. It was a long time coming.
But the pleasure of the memory didn’t last long.
Soon, Lorena’s thoughts filled my head, and I became sober. The weight of what I had done settled heavy in my gut.
I had messed up terribly. How could I sleep with Sonia when I hadn’t even confronted her with the truth?
She was going to be so shocked, and disappointed when she learnt Lorena was pregnant.
I closed my eyes tight, and just wallowed in my misery, even if it was for a few seconds. The guilt gnawed at me, sharp and unrelenting.
It lasted shorter than a second though, as in the same breath, I felt a hand on my face, soft fingers tracing my jaw.
My eyes opened, and I saw Sonia staring at me, her eyes sleepy but warm.
"You didn’t leave," she said, her voice husky from sleep.
"What?" I chuckled in curiosity, my hand instinctively moving to her back.
"I thought when I opened my eyes, you’d be gone, and last night would be a dream."
"No, it wasn’t."
I was going to kiss her, but I stopped that foolishness before it could materialise. It was bad enough that I had not told her about Lorena. Leading her on when we had a huge problem to tackle was just heartless.
"Shouldn’t we return back to the pack? You have to go see Lorena," she said, her fingers still gently tracing my jaw.
My heart skipped a beat. I wasn’t used to not being in control of my emotions.
I had successfully let my guard down, and now the thought of upsetting Sonia was unbearable.
I pulled her into my body, and from the way her body stiffened, I could tell she was shocked.
She wasn’t alone in that feeling. I was also surprised at my own need to hold her close.
"Should I ask questions?" She asked, her breath warm against my neck.
"Technically, you just asked one."
She laughed softly. "Thank you," she said when her laughter subsided, her fingers still on my face.
"For what?" I lifted my brow, my hand stroking her back slowly.
"For everything," she replied, her voice soft and sincere.
I didn’t say anything after. There was nothing I could say, anyway.
We laid there for a few minutes in silence, save for the beating of our hearts and the distant chirping of birds outside.
It was in that position Blane found us half an hour later.
"Alpha Ramon?" He called, and I jerked up, and swiftly covered Sonia’s body with my clothes.
"How did you find me? What the fuck do you want?" I queried him, my voice low but sharp.
"Your presence is needed. We have some representatives looking for you." He said with his back turned against us.
Using the little privacy he was sensible enough to give us, I urged Sonia to dress up, as I also did, pulling on my pants quickly.
"What representatives? I’m not in the mood for bullshit, Blane," I said as I wore my pants, my eyes flicking to Sonia.
"It’s not bullshit, alpha. I think this is really important."
I looked over to Sonia, and saw she was fully dressed.
The morning sun on her skin caused a glow that was almost blinding.
I almost wanted to send Blane away, and continue from where we stopped last night, my body already reacting to the sight of her.
"Ramon!" The same part of my head screamed, and I quickly snapped out of those feelings.
"You can turn around," I said.
Blane did, but lowered his gaze. I almost scoffed at him.
He was acting like he hadn’t seen Sonia naked before.
But once more, good on him for having some respect.
I’d forever hate myself for making him have her first, to prove some silly point I couldn’t even remember.
"How’s Lorena? Did you check up on her?" I asked.
"Nope. I came to you first," he replied.
I nodded, and turned to see Sonia with her head tossed to the other side too.
They were both acting weird, and I couldn’t have that.
Blane was the closest person to me in the pack, especially regarding things that actually mattered.
I was also beginning to see how important Sonia was.
They absolutely had to get along, or things wouldn’t work out smoothly.
"Blane, take Sonia back to her house. I’d go see what these representatives want."
They raised their voices to argue, but before they could get a word in, I had left their presence already.
Taking a shortcut, I made it to my quarters through the back entrance. This was the only way I could ensure I slipped in and out, without being really noticed.
I knew I was probably bathed with sand from rolling around on the ground, and I urgently needed to shower.
My legs touched the hall that led to my room, and Daniel suddenly appeared from nowhere.
"Alpha Ramon?" He called, and I expertly caught myself before I could jump in surprise.
"What the fuck, Daniel? Why are you just hanging around the halls? Don’t you have wolves to train?"
He appeared in front of me, and there was a mischievous glint in his eyes as they scanned me from my head down to my toes.
"What the hell happened to you, alpha?" He said, unable to hide the laughter in his voice.
"That bad?"
"Horribly bad. Like extremely bad. I couldn’t even begin to explain how bad," he went on and on.
"Damn Blane! That bastard didn’t even have the decency to tell me," I muttered, seething between my teeth.
"I think you should go now. I hear some footsteps coming this way. We don’t want them to question the sanity of their alpha, do we?"
"Daniel!" I growled a warning.
He jerked behind, and raised his hands in surrender.
I cursed under my breath, as I walked past him, and headed for my room.
I could hear his laughter behind, but as I turned to nab him, he turned also, pretending not to watch me leave.
"I’ll get you some other time, Daniel!" I called to his hearing as I entered my room, and slammed the door shut behind me.
