Legacy of the God of War
Chapter 56: Zhang Mei’s Kidnapping (3)
Li Chen’s voice quivered with an underlying anger as he demanded, "What do you want me to do?"
Cao Heping grinned, a sly and sinister expression stretching across his face. He nodded at one of his henchmen, who promptly produced a video camera from the corner of the room. Li Chen’s heart sank as he realized what Cao Heping had in mind.
Cao Heping tauntingly said, "Oh, I just need a camera-man for the movie I want to act in here with Zhang Mei."
Zhang Mei’s eyes widened in terror, and she screamed in desperation, struggling to free herself from the handcuffs that bound her to the bed. She feared the worst, knowing the depths of Cao Heping’s cruelty.
Li Chen clenched his fists, fighting back his anger as he realized the horrific situation they were in. It was clear that Cao Heping had something insidious planned, and their safety was hanging by a thread. Li Chen was prepared to do anything to protect Zhang Mei, but his anger had to be kept in check.
Just then, another of Cao Heping’s henchmen entered the room, the same man who had taunted Zhang Mei earlier. He whispered something to Cao Heping, and Li Chen could feel the tension in the room heighten.
Cao Heping, with his malicious grin still in place, leaned in close to Li Chen and said, "While you think about it, I’ll leave you and your pretty girlfriend here to be lovey-dovey. My men will be outside, so don’t try anything stupid. You wouldn’t make it out of here alive."
With that, Cao Heping left the room, and the heavy sound of the door shutting behind him left Li Chen and Zhang Mei alone.
Zhang Mei started to cry, feeling guilty for lying to Li Chen.
"I’m so sorry, Li Chen," she said. "I shouldn’t have said you were my boyfriend."
Li Chen shook his head. "Don’t apologize," he said. "It’s not your fault."
He looked around the room. "Did he touch you?" he asked.
Zhang Mei shook her head. "No," she said.
Li Chen nodded. "Good," he said. "At least I can make his death quicker for that."
Zhang Mei was startled by Li Chen’s words. She had never seen him so angry before.
"Li Chen," she said. "What are you going to do?"
Li Chen smiled. "I’m going to send him to hell," he said.
He opened the door and stepped out into the hallway. The two men who had been guarding the door were surprised to see him.
"Where do you think you’re going?" one of them asked.
Li Chen smirked. "To send you to hell," he said.
And with that, the fight began.
Li Chen was possessed by the God of War, and he was unstoppable. The two thugs were no match for him. Within seconds, they were both lying on the ground, unconscious.
Li Chen turned to Zhang Mei. "Wait for me here," he said. "I’ll be back."
Zhang Mei nodded. She didn’t know what to say. She had never seen Li Chen like this before. But she knew that he was going to do what he had to do.
Li Chen walked away, leaving Zhang Mei alone in the hallway. She waited for him, feeling both scared and excited. She knew that he was going to do something dangerous, but she also knew that he was doing it for her.
As Li Chen moved down the dimly lit hallway, the tension in the air grew thicker. Suddenly, the unmistakable sounds of scuffling and a struggle reached his ears. Without hesitation, he quickened his pace and turned the corner, only to be met by a group of five men brandishing golf clubs.
With the God of War now in control, Li Chen’s movements were like a well-choreographed dance of power and precision. In the blink of an eye, he darted forward and disarmed the first assailant, sending the golf club clattering to the ground. He then delivered a rapid series of blows, incapacitating two of the men who fell to the floor in a crumpled heap.
The remaining two attackers hesitated for a moment, their faces etched with fear, but they quickly attempted to swing their clubs at Li Chen. In response, he gracefully sidestepped the strikes and, with lightning-fast reflexes, disarmed both men.
Within seconds, the hallway was devoid of any threats. Li Chen had efficiently and effectively dispatched the group of men, leaving them incapacitated and moaning in pain on the ground. The God of War’s combat expertise had prevailed, and he was ready to continue his mission to rescue Zhang Mei.
Cao Heping sat in another room at the warehouse discussing something with his trusted right-hand man. The tension in the room was palpable when two of his guards burst through the door, their faces filled with panic and distress.
"Sir, we are under attack," one of the guards exclaimed, his voice trembling with fear.
Cao Heping’s face contorted in a mix of disbelief and rage. "What do you mean we’re under attack? Who dares to challenge me here?"
The second guard chimed in, "It’s Li Chen, sir. He has taken down seven of our men, and he’s making his way here."
Cao Heping clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. He had underestimated Li Chen’s determination and abilities. Anger welled up within him as he realized that Li Chen was getting dangerously close. Cao Heping knew he had to protect himself at all costs.
"Why are you still here? Go out there and stop him!" Cao Heping ordered with a fierce tone.
The two guards needed no further encouragement. They quickly turned and rushed out of the room to confront Li Chen, leaving Cao Heping alone in his chamber, seething with anger and a mounting sense of dread.
The two men guarding the door to Cao Heping’s room found themselves confronting a formidable opponent. Li Chen’s every movement was precise and filled with the spirit of the God of War. As the men moved to engage him, their intentions were clear: they would stop Li Chen at any cost.
The fight unfolded with lightning speed. The first man lunged at Li Chen, attempting to land a powerful blow with his golf club. However, Li Chen was already in motion, gracefully sidestepping the attack. He then countered with a swift punch to the man’s midsection, incapacitating him.
Meanwhile, the second man swung his club in a wide arc, aiming for Li Chen’s head. With remarkable agility, Li Chen evaded the strike, and the club sailed harmlessly through the air. Seizing the opportunity, Li Chen delivered a powerful kick to the second man’s knee, sending him crashing to the ground in agony.
Li Chen kicked the door open with a resounding crash. Cao Heping’s face contorted into a mix of surprise and annoyance as he clapped his hands, acknowledging Li Chen’s entrance.
"Here I thought you could only throw a punch, Li Chen," Cao Heping taunted. "You’ve defeated my men so easily. I underestimated you."
"That is where you went wrong," Li Chen retorted, his voice laced with determination.
Cao Heping turned to his trusted assistant and gave a cold command, "Please, finish him off. I want him dead."
The right-hand man nodded in understanding, and Cao Heping continued with his wicked plans. "I really wanted you to be my cameraman, but I guess I’ll get someone else to do it since you will be dead."
With a steely resolve, Li Chen shot back, "We will see about that."
The right-hand man, acknowledging Cao Heping’s orders, stepped forward. His imposing presence filled the room, and he assumed a powerful fighting stance. It was clear that he was no ordinary adversary, and the fight was about to reach a new level of intensity.
As the right-hand man initiated the confrontation, his movements were precise, and his attacks were devastatingly swift. His formidable skills were evident as he launched a barrage of strikes and punches. Li Chen countered, his agility and speed enabling him to evade the dangerous blows.
This duel was different from any of the previous fights. The right-hand man was an experienced fighter, and the battle had escalated to a level of intensity that exceeded their earlier encounters. It was a fierce contest, with neither giving ground.
However, Li Chen had an advantage that the right-hand man couldn’t possibly anticipate – the indomitable power of the God of War that resided within him. As the fight raged on, Li Chen allowed the deity to seize control, and the transformation was profound.
Li Chen’s attacks became incredibly precise, and his speed increased exponentially. The right-hand man struggled to keep up with the new level of ferocity and skill displayed by his opponent.
The culmination of their intense battle was inevitable. Li Chen unleashed a final, devastating kick that sent the right-hand man hurtling through the room’s wooden door. The door shattered on impact, and the defeated man lay motionless on the floor.
Cao Heping watched in disbelief as his trusted confidant was incapacitated so swiftly. His arrogance had finally given way to fear as he realized the magnitude of the threat posed by Li Chen.
Li Chen moved closer to Cao Heping and Cao Heping kept taking steps back. He had seen the man fight and he knew that with his overweight body that had never worked out or had any martial arts training before he was no match for Li Chen.
