Legend of Dragon Son-in-law
Chapter 2559: Repayment
When Julius Reed first laid eyes on the Divine Dragon Tripod, his heart was greatly stirred.
The people of that era were all dominated by this fearsome divine tripod.
Countless strong warriors perished under the crushing force of the tripod, their paths and philosophies extinguished.
The flourishing martial arts world ultimately vanished into smoke and dust.
Only a few ordinary people remained.
They found the ancient texts left by those top masters and began their path of cultivation.
The Heavenly Dao is merely a cycle.
Cycles come and go, all is void.
No matter the emperor or true lord, in the end, they will become as ordinary people do, turned into nothingness under the crushing force of the Heavenly Dao.
"Old brother, I seriously suspect this tripod of yours... is related to the one that killed us back then."
The Daoist of the Nine Nether already had an indelible shadow in his heart.
He could never forget the terror of being dominated by the divine tripod!
That covering, day-darkening tripod hovered in the sky!
Much like Jupiter approaching Earth.
Instilling deep fear.
"Impossible, I’ve carried it for countless years without incident," Julius Reed assured, "Mont, relax. If this tripod really had issues, would you still be alive now?"
"True." Though the Daoist of the Nine Nether felt resistance deep down, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and approach.
"If it were someone else, even if forced, I wouldn’t do it."
He took a deep breath, raised an eyebrow and said, "Where’s the fire?"
Alchemy requires fire.
How can one make pills without fire?
Julius Reed extended his hand, gently wiping the Dragon King Ring.
Instantly, flames burst forth from the ring, igniting the Divine Dragon Tripod!
As soon as fire ignited under the tripod, nine distinct dragons slowly emerged.
They seemed like holographic projections, circling the Divine Dragon Tripod continuously.
Nine dragons!
Nine colors!
Various forms!
"Holy... damn! Damn!" The Daoist of the Nine Nether couldn’t help but curse, "Brother, what the hell is this! Never seen anything like it? It’s freaking dazzling! The Bull King’s pill tripod that he’s bragged about for thousands of years is trash compared to this!"
He always believed the era he lived in was the finest in tens of thousands of years.
In that era, the martial arts world reached unparalleled heights!
Even the mortal world regarded as slaves achieved unprecedented prosperity.
Alchemy, pharmaceuticals, nearly all industries were at the pinnacle.
But today, the Daoist of the Nine Nether saw a pill tripod in the post-martial arts era.
A pill tripod encircled by nine dragons!
The Bull King’s pill tripod from back then was nowhere near this even a tenth of the way!
That one was dragon-carved.
In front of the Daoist of the Nine Nether, however, real dragons hovered!
Yet unbeknownst to him, the original shape of the Divine Dragon Tripod was nothing like this, it was rather a pill vessel like a brush holder.
After Julius Reed slew a dragon in Mont and the dragon spirit was absorbed by the tripod.
Now, with the use of spiritual power, the tripod manifested this awe-inspiring scene of nine dragons encircling it.
Why it grew to this size, Julius Reed couldn’t explain.
But ever since he obtained a demigod’s body, he seemed to truly control the Divine Dragon Tripod.
It could shrink or expand.
Julius Reed speculated that maybe the tripod had a connection with the former owner of this body.
It was highly likely that this was the pill vessel used by that owner.
"Saving people is crucial."
Seeing the Daoist of the Nine Nether drooling at the sight, Julius Reed questioned internally if this thing was really that miraculous and powerful.
"Alright." The Daoist of the Nine Nether rubbed his hands, circling the Divine Dragon Tripod several times and curiously asked, "Does this spiritual power come from your ring?"
"Not spiritual power, but evil qi," Julius Reed corrected him.
Spiritual power can be ignited, but isn’t as efficacious.
Nether fire is what can burn all things in the world.
"Evil qi? The kind of evil qi formed from countless deaths?" The Daoist of the Nine Nether was even more surprised, carefully examining Julius Reed and exclaiming, "You don’t seem like someone with a sinister appearance, yet you’re more ruthless than anyone! I’m telling you, without tens of thousands, millions of souls, you can’t produce evil qi."
"First save people."
Julius Reed didn’t want others to know too many secrets about him.
Moreover, the Daoist of the Nine Nether’s body was due for replacement.
Otherwise, seeing the same face as his every day left him feeling uneasy.
"Alright." The Daoist of the Nine Nether hesitated before saying, "Could you lift her up here?"
"Lift up?"
Julius Reed curiously asked, "Why lift up?"
"Are you making pills or refining people?"
Long Wu also asked cautiously, "Twelve, is this guy reliable? I’m not afraid of death, but being burned to ashes I can’t accept."
The blue flame beneath the Divine Dragon Tripod burned with a very high temperature.
"To save you, the simplest method is to burn out what is inside your body. Trust me, I’m a professional," assured the Daoist of the Nine Nether, patting his chest in guarantee, "Trust me!"
"Give it a try, though he doesn’t seem like a master, he was really powerful once."
Julius Reed walked to the bedside, lifted Long Wu, and gently placed her on the Divine Dragon Tripod.
Curiously, Long Wu actually floated above it.
"I’m about to exert power, sometimes it’ll be hot, sometimes cold. After enduring hot and cold, you’ll be fine."
The Daoist of the Nine Nether took a step back, swung his robe, and pointed forward with a finger.
As his finger emitted faint white mist, the flames of the Divine Dragon Tripod began to change.
The previously stable flames began to grow and shrink wildly.
Just as he said, Long Wu suddenly started to shiver.
"Cold." The Daoist of the Nine Nether gently blew a breath, "This is dispelling the yin energy within you."
He tapped the air three times with his fingers.
The room temperature suddenly dropped.
Afterward, the temperature began to rise.
And beads of sweat formed visibly on Long Wu’s forehead.
The Daoist of the Nine Nether flicked his finger, causing the flames to suddenly intensify!
Using a larger fire to drive out fire!
Fight poison with poison!
Fight heat with heat!
In just an instant, Long Wu was soaked in sweat.
"Now, it’s time to completely dispel the remaining remnants within her."
The Daoist of the Nine Nether’s face turned somewhat pale, clearly manipulating this power was quite taxing.
What he left behind was spiritual telekinesis, not a physical body.
Working with this body was far from adequate.
Half an hour later!
The nine dragons returned to their positions.
The flames beneath the Divine Dragon Tripod gradually extinguished, and Long Wu was held by Julius Reed back to the bed, drifting into slumber.
"When she wakes, it’ll all be fine."
The Daoist of the Nine Nether wiped his sweat, completely exhausted.
"I’ve heard that your body doesn’t suit you well..."
Long Wu suddenly opened her eyes, hesitated briefly, and continued, "I have a corpse, do you want it?"
"Can a corpse even work?" The Daoist of the Nine Nether responded disbelievingly.
"He’s not a god, but he killed a god." Long Wu sneered, "It’s deposited by the church with me. However, according to the church, inside resides a lingering soul, extremely terrifying."
